Loving the game so far. I'm up to the first Grand Trial and have discovered I've picked up Pokerus at some point. Spreading it around to every Pokemon I can now.

What QR codes do you scan?

Any will work for getting points towards the scan. If you scan ones generated by a pokedex you can have that pokemon added as seen though

Look in the pokedex (I'm assuming you've fought a trainer who has it...if not keep playing). It actually shows you which patches of grass have them in. IIRC Pichu is a 5% encounter chance though.

Is it noticeable and worth me biting my tounge and waiting for Wednesday or will I be fine with the OG? I'm guessing the versions are region locked so I can't trade between a US version and a PAL version?

Looking for an answer on this if anyone can help here. If it's possible then I'll get one version now and the other on my N3DSXL on Wednesday.

Ok so I'm having the weirdest bug on my digital version.

Everytime I use Echoed Voice with my Pikipek, my game crashes. As in, a black screen saying an error occurred and I have to turn off and on my console. Anyone heard of anything similar? This is super weird, and I'm able to reliably reproduce it.

Ah. I didn't think of it from that perspective. I think I'd prefer if it were available right away but had to be unlocked via a difficult post-game challenge.

When you're going into the Festival Plaza and the game forces a save, is this not a hard save (same as if you manually selected Save in the menu)? I was on the phone with my sister and she had to exit to connect to a new wifi point after going into the Plaza (and saving using that), and when she started the game again the save wasn't there. She wasn't sure if she had done a hard save, so I'm curious. Naturally as an older brother I laughed my ass off, but losing that first slow hour sucks.

I'm watching a livestream shiny hunt right now and part of me just thinks the rational thing to do would wait for shiny charm* unless it is found that SoS chains are like friend safari (which was always 1/512 shiny or no shiny**).

You get it with Alola dex complete now (I think you show it to Game Freak) so that is hundreds less Pokemon are needed. Despite no national dex in-game I assume stuff outside alola dex is recorded for bank (which is where the national dex feature will be now ) and critical capture chance

**-A user at smogon collected stats from a number of sources and personally contributed 185,227 encounters netting 344 shinies (using an automated method of course) getting everything that appears in friend safari as shiny.

I wonder. Are people expecting a third version, or sequels a la Black & White 2? This affects my purchasing decisions.

I'm hoping for sequels but BW2 were about 18-21 months after BW. Then again November seems to be when Pokemon games come out now so maybe they've found a way to do this much quicker.
