Pokémon Sun & Moon |OT| Ultra Beasts and where to find them

Story progress question:
I just got to the third island (Ula'ula I think?) after seeing the first UB in the Aether Corporation. Seeing how there are only 4 islands, and the first two felt small, am I really halfway already, or is the last island just huge, or does something else entirely come up?

Does the game punish you like old games for changing your time? My clock is 4-5 hours behind because of Animal Crossing and I'd like to fix it, but games in the past would make time based events not work for a day or two if you did that.

Dang, Totem Lurantis was also super easy.
Goodnight at the same level destroyed it, Trumbeak was the bigger threat (Supersonic).

Guess Wishiwashi was the peak.

Wishiwashi was actually the easiest one in my opinion. I had more trouble with Gumshoos. And every single one after that one has been pretty close and I almost lost each one.

Woof 4 at lvl 5 affection now.

Decidueye probably has the coolest battle stance in the game. Then when he gives you a slight look back he just looks badass.

Is it just my perception or did the catch rate got decreased for the Poke Balls? Really struggling catching some Pokémon specially after the first trial.

I don't have a Pokémon with a sleep inducing move or false swipe and I've exclusively been using poke balls with no problems.

How difficult each of the Totems are usually depends on Team Composition, I'd actually say
Totem Mimikyu
is the most difficult Totem in the game overall because it's consistent, hits hard, has a team mate to inflict status, has a check to status and so on. If there's a totem where Nuzlockes go to die, it's there.

On my EXP share, Set playthrough, most of the Totems were tense but largely fair fights that I could simply implement a strategy to win. I honestly felt much more satisfaction completing one of them than beating any Gym leader in 6th gen under these same conditions and arguably most of the series. Though I'd say overall the best fight in the game is actually a certain pokemon trainer because their AI is somewhat consistent with switching, which gives the best taste of multiplayer in the whole series. If Pokemon Stars makes that fight the standard for the AI for major fights in the game, it'll straight murder the rest of the series.

Man my party just ends up being filled with Gen 1 pokemon every new game that comes out. Just can't resist the nostalgia.

Hey uhh...you know after you finish the grand trial on the second island, and you go to
that weird science place? and that ultra beast that looks like a jelly fish shows up?

Could you have caught that pokemon?

Well not a "boss" fight, but the first Captain fight.

Yeah, Ilima's is kinda like if Cheren from BW2 popped in earlier to kick your teeth in and if he had a counter to the starter.

You can't catch any pokemon in that area. There's a jamming signal.

Lol, does anyone have a female Pokemon with Cute Charm by any chance?

Edit: Nvm, pokemon I'm looking for only shows up at daytime. Guess I'll stick it out.

yeah it ended ProJared's Nuzlocke.

dat Smeargle.

He was so pissed.

But like, you're doing a Nozlocke of a Pokémon game you've never played and know nothing about and then THAT FUCKING SMEARGLE happens.

He complained that dropping its accuracy twice did nothing because he still never missed.

Pure RNG, dude. Just pure RNG.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that got nearly creamed by that Smeargle. Fucker had Ember. Roasted my poor Rowlet.

it seems like it has a move for whatever starter you picked. It is the "I hope you trained other pokemon, because I'm going in" fight.

Shout out to Caim; thanks for the Cottonee!

On another note, I'm not sure if anyone's done this, but I made a Discord chat for PokeGAF, if interest warrants.

Man, the first few hours of this game are really slow. I just want to explore, but I'm constantly being pulled aside to learn about some feature I don't care about.

Nice to see some little dialog changes on the story depending on your battle style.
Just fought the first kahuna and I didn't use the Z-ring to win and Ilima pointed that after the match
.
