FFXV copies out in the wild (street date broken in Peru, possibly elsewhere)

Verendus, a well known "insider" here on GAF, said he played FFXV and finished it. People asked for what his thoughts was and so he posted them in this thread last night. For him it was the best game this gen so far and his second favorite behind FFVII in the entire series. However, Jason Schreier from Kotaku read his impressions and felt some of what he described was off. Jason would know since he probably has a review copy but even then he already played 15 hours of the game earlier this month. After that, a lot of people realized most of what Verendus wrote was known info. Many started asking for receipts, Falk PMed him to get clarification, but he hasn't appeared at all since last night.

What's in it for Verendus to hype it like that though? He is already pretty well known here on GAF, so I doubt it's for attention.
 
That spoiler thread is heating up so much it's INSANE. I thought I was okay with spoiling the game but after some pleasant surprises I decided to bail. It's clear they've kept a lot of the game under wraps and that there is plenty well worth going in fresh on.

Oh, you mean people who said there isn't much story in XV are wrong? What a shocker ;P

I am going to wait, I might get my copy today so hopefully I can join that spoiler thread soon~

Well what I saw doesn't necessarily mean anything for the story, but it does mean that SE kept a massive gameplay setpiece completely under wraps for all this time. I won't spoil anyone so don't worry about me, just suffice to say I was surprised that the game was holding something that intense, high-quality and marketable back all this time.

Have people in there finally surpassed the beginning hours?
Do we know anything concrete about the map and areas from the 2nd half?
