Wow, the level spike on Poni Island is real. Amazing how the game goes from Po Town where everyone is a total loser to this where even random trainers are threats.

I'd prefer an Electric/Flying Rapidash. I'm imagining a pegasus with an electric mane.

I want a Ghost/Flying death horse Rapidash based on what the shiny looks like. Go further with a design built off that.

That and the fake leaked Water Arcanine.

When do you start running into water Pokemon? I just got to the second island and have been using slowpoke to be my water Pokemon...wishing I'd chosen Popplio.

Just got the game! And now I can't wait to play after work.

There was a Nintendo ambassador working at the store and he gave me a poster. We end up talking for like half an hour about Pokemon.

Loving this game so far (just beat the first Kahuna).

But because whining is more fun i want to complain about a few things

- We gen 2 boyz when it comes to the new pokemon being rare. I couldn't imagine going through this blind and not having the internet help...because it is very possible to get through the first island without catching any new pokemon beyond the bird and rat variant (the bird is cool tho)..and thats lame.

- Its early but I forsee the SOS system pissing me off. Its great to add a challenge but lord catching specific pokemon will be a pain in the ass, eh?

- I don't mind the handholdy nature but yeah its there. It will make second playthrough a slog.

- I one hit the totem pokemon....lol.

yeah same. Luckily the start is too damn long for my reset urge...for now. Litten better be worth it....

I bought some white glasses 'cause I thought I'd be able to dye them another color, but I guess glasses can't be dyed? How the hell am I supposed to get blue glasses in my game then?! I'm playing Sun, and apparently they're only available to buy in Moon... Is there any other way to get blue glasses in Sun??

It's not a new discovery or anything but I feel like enough people have mentioned it that I need to chime in.

Sleeping and paralysed Pokemon lose the ability to call reinforcements.

Just evolved my Growlithe into Arcanine. I guess once pikachu learns thunderbolt I'll turn it into a Raichu.

Anyone have a Pikachu Level 20 or lower they're willing to be charitable with? Or tips on where to find one? I can only find Pichu.

Beat the trial where they teach you about Pokemon crying for help. Find a pichu. don't kill it and wait turns till it calls for help. There's a small chance it calls for a Pikachu. Just keep waiting/defeating the help until a Pikachu appears. But evolving Pichu isn't too bad, just giveit a soothe bell and walk all around with it in the front of your party. It should evolve by Level 15-19

Thanks! I didn't realize it needed to be summoned by a Pichu to show up. Just got one.

The Battle Dome is... eh. I'm kinda underwhelmed. Either way, current team after three trials cleared:

- Artemis, Sassy Dartrix, Level 25
- Myria, Hardy Trumbeak, Level 22
- Wilma, Hasty Wishiwashi, Level 19
- Naive Cottonee, Level 19
- Murray, Bold Munchlax, Level 21
- Piper, Mild Pikachu, Level 27

I will probably be replacing the Cottonee with a fire type soon-ish.

Need some help, I think I forgot where I was supposed to go.

This is after the ghost trial on the third island.

I beat the ghost trial and then I went back to the house and some kids were complaining about their pokemon being stolen so then I think I was supposed to go after team skull? I went to a beach and some dude gave me a robot shark to swim around with that crushes rocks but no idea where I'm supposed to go.

How long ago did Tauros and Miltank get officially linked? I was pretty surprised when I caught Tauros and saw an extra pokeball on his page, but then it was filled by Miltank.

I don't mind the cutscenes. They're never too long, but this game seems to have way better character and world building than X/Y.

This was what X/Y should've been. It's clear X/Y was GF's training wheels in the 3D. The landscape geometry was super simplistic, the story and characters bare bones, the chibi designs.

It's really the little things that add up here that make it a fresher experience. Can't wait to replay on Switch.

It's not that hard to find new Pokemon. Once you've seen a Pokemon (i.e. battled it), you can look it up in the Pokedex and it tells you exactly where to find it. Down to the specific patch of grass on a specific route.

By the end of the first island you can get cutiefly, youngoose, oricorio, crabrawler, rockruff, pikipek, grubbin. If anything, I would say there's an overwhelming amount of new pokemon early on. I wanted to use them all!

I think there are a number of aspects that could use some touching up. It's among the best 1st versions in my opinion but I still feel BW2, Platinum and Emerald are among the best RPGs in Nintendo's catalog because they took a strong base and touched it up to something fantastic (and are very big reasons for why I'm a strong proponent of the next version release pushed by developers like Capcom and Tecmo Koei as I adore games like DMC3 special edition and Ninja Gaiden Black). Which is why I was quite disappointed when XY never got a Z version that could have touched up all of its issues. Color me incredibly excited for the Stars version.

LiQuid!

Curious how you came to this conclusion. I've been playing thru blind and my team is all new pokemon aside from the gift Snorlax who is basically my Pikachu in this game and he will never leave my side.

I must be stupid unlucky then.

good to know its just me,

I just want to say, mudbray is a hilarious Pokemon. Opponent Pokemon keep hitting it over and over again and it just gets stronger. It's basically impossible to take down unless the opponent is using special moves or has something super effective.

Its a shame BW2 was at the end of the DS's life. Them cutting off the wi-fi connection shortly after its release was especially terrible.

Got a Drought Torkoal after only one SOS. Hope I get that lucky with Vulpix (when I play Sun).

Drought is not a Hidden Ability for Torkoal, hence any random one has a 50% chance of having it. Snow Warning is Hidden for Vulpix so you will have to chain it (I usually get lucky around 20 Pokemon in).

Anyone know how to get the smug/reverent battle styles? I've beaten the game now and don't have access to either of them after revisiting the guy who lets you change them.
