Pokémon Sun & Moon |OT| Ultra Beasts and where to find them

Schooling Wishiwashi has a base stat total of 620:
45/140/130/140/135/30
Normal Wishiwashi with its base stat total of 175 detroning Sunkern as lowest base total:
45/20/20/25/25/40

That's a fucking sick stat spread. It's rare to see a non-legendary (pseudo or otherwise) with that kind of bulk and offensive power. It's a shame that the HP is so low, I I guess it needed to be the same as normal Wishiwashi's for when it changes back (it's also a shame that the speed sucks, but I think I've come to expect that at this point). I can see myself breeding for one with a decent nature in the future.

I haven't used Wishiwashi enough to see it change back after losing enough HP. Does it just revert to solo Wishiwashi when it hits 50% HP or something? Or can it go into the red before reverting?

A full team comes together with the addition of my snow warning vulpix, Caster. Current team
Caster-Vulpix
Saber-Rockruff
Lancer-Araquanid
Archer- Decidueye
Assassin-Salazzle
Rider-Raichu

Probably will replace one with a jangmo-o (nicknamed Berserker) once I get there

Are the SOS battles pure random or actually based on your levels? I feel like if you're over leveled the SOS call happens way more often and succeeds. My wife always talks about extra reinforcements showing up, sometimes multiple turns in a row but I've never seen that ever. In fact they rarely call for help for me.

She does have her team around 5-10 levels ahead of mine as I turn the xp share on and off to stay right about the same level as the trainers where I am.

Just wanna make sure, the only difference between both games are the pokemons?
Theres nothing like Black and White (exclusive areas)?

- Pokemon availability
- Totem Pokemon battles differ
- A 12-hour time shift is present in Moon
- Clothing availability is mostly different in each version (warm colours in Sun, cool colours in Moon, plus some different patterned stuff).
- A couple of locations in the game differ very slightly in name and textures
- Some slightly different dialogue, and obviously different box legends are featured during the story

You can come back and catch Tapu Koko later right?

Yes. I think you might have to
beat the Elite Four again and defend your title
first though.

Hope S/M is better. Any opinions from that from people who've played all the 3DS titles? After loving Black and White, both XY and ORAS massively underwhelmed me.
I'd say that it's definitely better than XY, but still has issues of its own. Better than ORAS in many respects, but lacks those games' better features.

3 more days until us Europeans play this legendary game!
Is France the only country where the release date has been broken everywhere? (it's not common here, but the game sure is available everywhere since the middle of last week). Or are you going digital?

Also, aside from the dugtrio with wigs I dunno anything about Alola forms, so I've been going into this game pretty blind.
Wanted to do this (I haven't watched a single trailer)... The giant advertisements in railway stations spoiled a lot of the Aloha forms, though.

That being said, I like hunting all mons in an area before proceeding, and S/M makes this really, really annoying without some online help. The pokedex is uninformative as hell about availability. For example, Psyduck is showing in several spots on island 1 and 2, and I'm starting to believe it's not that simple.

Curious, is there any real incentive to get a Snow Warning Vulpix for in-game play? I forget if Hail got buffed this time around.

Depends on what you like/dislike in Pokemon games.

As a hunter/breeder, X/Y has been the best experience to me, and based on my first 15 hours on S/M, I can't see how it could rank higher.

I'm not surprised seeing a lot of people enjoying S/M more than Gen VI, though.

Don't traded evolution pokemon have the same moveset as their pre-trading forms? In which case it wouldn't matter when you evolve it. Unless they've changed that from before.

Some of the item trade evolutions like Steelix, Slowking, Scizor and some others change their moves but the straight evolution trades don't.

Wait what, they broke the release date in France again?

And still the rest of Europe suffers? Grrrrrrrrr

Fishing for a Feebas, keep getting Goldeen/Magikarp. SRing is real.

Yeah, I managed to get one pretty early on, but I've only seen that one and I've been fishing a bunch to see what else I can get. It's nothing but Goldeens honestly, not even tons of Magikarp like I was expecting, and of course almost no Gen 7 Pokemon.

I haven't bothered with Feebas/Milotic in any games since Gen 3, so how do you go about evolving it now? I can't imagine that it's any worse than what it took to evolve it in Gen 3 though.

25% HP and reverts at the end of the turn.

I think you can still get them via festival plaza, where you can get clothes guests are wearing
Clothing colours and some clothing items are version exclusive and you have to rely on that mechanic to get the ones not in your version. Then there is the mess that is dying white clothes (it looks like you can't just have one festival plaza stand do everything).

Soooo...can I take my hat off? I had such a great haircut that it feels like a waste to wear a hat lol.
Yes, you can!

Go to any clothes store and in the changing room just remove the hat.

Best change in this game, I never understood the boneheaded decision to force a hat on you in X/Y.

Exclusive clothes and accessories? BULLSHIT.

You can them through Festival Plaza starting at rank 10 by asking guests about their outfit. They need to be wearing an item you don't have. It's a bit random though since they only talk about one article of clothing a day and it may not be the piece you want.

Why are Alolan Geodude and Exeggutor so late game :( Going to have to rethink my team, don't like late team additions...

Also I wish they'd either remove trade evolutions or add an alternative, e.g. you can evolve Alakazam as soon as you get a Kadabra but you can also get to Lv. 55 or something. I know that defeats the purpose but... ech.

RIP Araquanid.

I hate that the E4 is really the only place to grind levels.

PS: If anyone who is early game and wants some eggs I'm more than happy. PM me.

Wait what, they broke the release date in France again?
Again? It happened already?

I don't remember a lot of street dates being broken like this (I mean, there's always some shops selling the games early, but not a whole week early, and not ALL shops... the shops that work with Nintendo for distribution event pokemons were selling it thursday).

Hell, in Paris, there was even streetpasses showing people playing the game last sunday.

And still the rest of Europe suffers? Grrrrrrrrr
By "suffers", you mean that the wait is unbearable? I feel sorry for people really wanting to play it :/ I would have given my "place" to someone else if I could, I wasn't THAT eager to play it (in fact, I expected to finish DQ7 before)

All other countries in EU are respecting the release date? That's strange...

Yay Dewpider! He's replacing Cutiefly since her usefulness was fading fast. Dewpider will remain until I'm far enough to power level and evolve a Wimpod. I'm not going to bother with him until he can quickly become a Golisopod.

My team is starting to look pretty good now.

Dartrix (20)
Grimer (19)
Mudbray (19)
Magnemite (19)
Rockruff (19)
Dewpider (18)

My Rowlet is lvl 20 and I keep force cancelling evolution.
I'm using a all-starters team* (that I'll complete with a trio of alolan pokemons), currently in the upper-20, and I'm seriously considering finishing the game without evolving any of those.

Maybe it'll add some welcome challenge (especially since two of the starters have the exp bonus for coming from another game)

* doing the intro three times in a row to get those has been a real chore... T_T'

I don't know if I should keep Munchlax and Greninja

My team
-Butterfree
-Rowlet
-Munchlax (gift)
-Pichu
-Greninja (Demo gift)

If it's unbalanced that becuase my strategy of catching Pokemons is (Oh that might be good)

Trade evolution with the prism scale held item. Now question is where do you find that. :(

I caught mine in the start of that location when it was raining. Maybe rain makes spawn more?
Feebas is 1% encounter in normal fishing spots, 5% in ripples in that location. Sounds bad but remember how it was on the GBA only appearing on 6 random tiles out of 400 (most people had the strategy of checking each tile multiple times as it wasn't 100% on those 6 random ones).

I remember getting Feebas first time there. I didn't know about it so I caught it and boxed it without a second thought. I assumed it was useless.
