Pokémon Sun & Moon |OT| Ultra Beasts and where to find them

So I'm trying to catch what I can before leaving melemele island the first time, what isn't available from the dex right now? (Please use spoilers in case someone hasnt seen it)

The f.... Did you somehow skip the entirety of Lumiose City? XY were the WORST.
Lumiose was very flawed, but I actually appreciated what GF was trying to do. The execution was bad, of course, but the idea wasn't. I can't say the same for this stuff in Moon. And as if to prove my point, I had a couple of cutscenes more after the part I complained about in my previous post. I roll my eyes every time I see Hau in the overworld now, which sucks because I kinda like his character, but the constant onslaught of cutscenes is ruining my experience.

Dartrix (30)
Pikachu (28)
Lycanroc-Midday (30)
Wishiwashi (30)
Cubone (29)

About to start down Route 11, having just beaten
Guzma for the first time at Malie Garden.

This is the most fun I've had in a mainline Pokemon in a long time. With the exception of
Vikivolt
every Totem fight has kicked my ass and I love it. This game oozes personality.

Final team:
Bulky Bertha - Bewear
Sharpshot - Decidueye
Buddy - Lycanroc (Moon)
Spuddle - Dewpider
Slashfire - Salazzle
Regal Dunes - Palossand

That was a damn good Pokemon game.

Yeah, they're post game stuff.

Did you go to Ten Carat Hill tho?

Yea, went there way back. Didn't put Rockruff on my team cause it was like 10 levels under my team average at the time but after seeing Lycanroc I regretted it a bit. Definitely something I gotta use in the future.

Am I doing something wrong in my Festival Plaza? I only get player guests that don't ask me to do anything.

I wanna earn those FCs~

Ugh. 99/100 Zygarde cells. Shoot me now, please.

So...
does Lillie ever show up again in the postgame?

No, she's gone to Kanto with Lusamine to find Bill

Anyone know how to get the smug/reverent battle styles? I've beaten the game now and don't have access to either of them after revisiting the guy who lets you change them.

You have to
battle Gladion before scaling Mount Lanakila
to get Smug. For Reverent, you have to
visit Kiawe's house in Paniola Town and defeat him in battle.
, though in Moon it's already unlocked and you have to unlock Elegant instead by
defeating Mallow after visting her house in Konikoni City
.

Thanks,
I found Kiawe's house in Paniola, but he's not there. Is there another step?

I know that part, I was wondering if she returned at some point

also can you actually find Lusamine at Aether Paradise after catching the cover legendary?

I have no idea if she's at Aether Paradise in between then and the end. But Wicke dialogue suggests they're going to be in Kanto long-term.

Man just let my island scan time out since I didnt think it would be tracking my resets. Was hoping for a female cyndaquil with at least an alright nature.

Onto the third island now and my team is looking like this right now

Salandit (lv. 28)
Wishiwashi (lv. 30)
Lycanroc-Midnight form (lv. 30)
Torracat (lv. 30)
Alolan Grimer (lv. 29)
Alolan Marowak (lv. 28 or 29)

I'm obviously going to be vastly changing my team around at some point (when better Pokes become available) but I was mostly going for a dark & poisonish team but then I realized that I needed some kind of special attacker (Wishiwashi) and well, I liked the look of Lycanroc's midnight form so I got Rockruff. Like I said, this will probably change a lot either on this island or the 4th one (sounds like the 4th island judging by what people have vaguely said here about most of the rarer Pokemon being on that island).

When is "morning"in this game? My Rockruff is 24 and I want to change my system clock before he hits 25
The Midday form of Lycanroc should just be any time during daytime so 6am-5:59pm.

Easiest thing to do is save beforehand and just use a rare candy (might be a bit of a waste)

When you get on a ride pokemon in
Vast Poni Canyon
it doesn't interrupt the overworld music. They know how good this song is.

My ingame team right now consists of:

- Incineroar - adamant - f (starter)
- Decidueye - adamant - m (bred)
- shiny Popplio - modest - m (bred)
- shiny Litten - adamant - m (bred + 3 egg moves)
- slowpoke - calm - f (caught)

The last Pokémon currently is a Raticate I got from a trade that I'm trying to level up to get double-edge so I can continue my Growlithe breeding. I'm trying to trade for either a higher level mankey or primeape right now so I can breed close combat into this adamant intimidate Growlithe which currently has Heat Wave and Crunch.

I'll try to breed for shiny too lol, but it's only for in game. So because pokebank won't work with this game until next year, these egg move Pokémon I'm breeding have been great in completing the Alola dex and getting things earlier like non-ENG Pokémon, e.g. Ditto!

I actually shiny bred the Popplio by accident, I was just trying to breed for modest using a modest Korean Wingull and a sassy Japanese Popplio.

Besides Growlithe I'm also breeding Rowlets. Right now I have two egg moves on Rowlet, I could try to trade for another Rufflet that has defig but the higher level one I got via trade is okay I guess. I just need to get to the move reminder. I want Omnious Wind on my Rowlet but it can't get that move until Pokebank since it gets it from Natu and Xatu.

I don't know if I'll be as lucky with shiny Rowlet and Growlithe as I was with Popplio and Litten, but it'd be cool if I ran a team of shinies as my first ingame team.

Don't care for IVs right now since I'm only playing in game. I'll bring up my horde of 6IV Dittos come Bank along with the 6IV parents I bred.

My Littens have brought me so much stuff, SRing for a female Adamant one sure paid off! :)

Currently my Littens are complete in terms of egg moves:
- Nasty Plot, Heat Wave, Crunch, Fake out

Anyway I'm on the third island right now, I played pretty much all weekend. Lol

Ya I dunno I guess I don't mind the cutscenes at all. The presentation of this game is so far ahead of what Pokemon has been it feels like a further evolution of going on an adventure with your friends like in XY.

i'm over the whole calling for help thing it makes catching pokemon take longer than it needs to
It's really my main gripe so far, I don't get what the point of it is. It feels like 70% of my random encounters that take longer than one turn to settle end up calling for help. Earlier I got stuck in a chain loop, I had to kill 7 zubats in one fight because I couldn't OHKO them and they would call for a new zubat after the first hit.

I don't mind the mechanic by itself, I just don't get why they made it such a common occurrence. It almost seems a little broken.

And I'd have to go back and check, but I swear that XY had a more streamlined UI than these games. It takes way too many clicks just to do ANYTHING, and the loading between menus makes it feel particularly sluggish.

Lastly, I just wish the series would move on with the nostalgia plays to the first game. I'm running into so many first gen pokemon its ridiculous. It was kinda novel in XY, now it's starting to wear on me a bit.

Other than that, I'm having a blast though lol. They're playing with the structure of the games a bit and I appreciate the effort.

This is my first time truly diving into a Pokemon game. I'm really enjoying it. The sense of adventure, the locations, the pokemon, and the snappy battles are all keeping me engaged. But there is definitely some complex systems that I don't quite understand.

Do you have an NNID linked? If no just change country in system settings. You have a seperate wallet for each country so any existing funds will be there when you return.

If you have NNID linked that will cockblock you from doing the above. The good news is it is only a 3 day wait now. Game out on the 23rd. If you like write a grumpy letter to Nintendo about not being able to change country of an NNID (most account systems do have this problem but that doesn't make it acceptable, at least on Wii U you can get around this by making another user, changing country then setting up that NNID) and also the bullshit of it being delayed in the first place but I have a feeling it is the Pokemon Company forcing this for some reason (my theory is Game Sync servers blowing up which is just as lame a reason as the common it's because of street dates getting broken).

If the Pokémon Company seriously delayed the European release date because of the Game Sync servers blowing up then that's on them and not Europe or the retailer selling the copy early.

The is no reason why European should suffer a 5 days wait, while avoiding twitter and youtube so they can unnecessary avoid spoilers.

I swear Primarina is begging for Boomburst egg move or later move tutor.

Liquid Voice+Boomburst. Why isn't this a thing.

So they can sell you the third version with move tutors.

Just realized there's only one non-Kanto affiliated Gen 7 Ice type Pokemon. The Snow Crab. Omg just realized why it's Ice type once I typed that out lmao!

The whole stuff with Zygarde and the Cube feels so hamfisted and unnecessary.

Yeah. I feel for poor Zygarde. I actually love the whole cells and cube and gathering the pieces thing, I also really like his formes but for fucks sake, Gamefreak. Give the little thing a bit of backstory and lore.

The whole "oh hey, there's this machine laying around here for no reason. You can use it to form Zygarde! See ya" was so lol worthy. No thought behind it at all.

Boom. Male and Female Bagon get. Time to start looking for one with a good nature. I'm assuming Jolly is still the best nature for a general purpose physical Salamence, right?

Also, is there anyway to remove EVs? I remember back in DPP (the last gen I played) there were berries or something that could lower your EVs, but I don't know if there's anything like that in this game. If there isn't, then I won't bother bringing whatever decent natured Bagon I breed along with me until I beat the game.
