Pokémon Sun & Moon |OT| Ultra Beasts and where to find them

Just beat Lusamine 2. I had no poison or steel moves so I spent 5 attempts dying to her fucking Clefable which I just could not kill. I only managed to beat her because my boosted Minior got a crit Stone Edge. Without the crit I was planning on using a boosted self destruct but I don't even know if it'd be enough, that thing is INSANELY tanky.

After that, I self destructed on her Milotic which could've been an issue for my team and the rest of her team wasn't that bad. Her Mismagius and Bewear kept spamming Pain Split for some reason though, making the end a bit anticlimactic.

Still, a pretty tough fight by evil team leader standards what with 5 totem-boosted mons. I'd say she's 3rd toughest after Ghetsis in BW and Ghetsis in BW2. Would've liked to see her have a Ultra Beast as a 6th pokemon though. And I was hoping Ultra Space would be much more expansive like the Distortion World in Platinum. Maybe in Star.

Also, caught Lunala in my first quick ball lol.

That Clefable was goddamn ridiculous. I used my Raichu against it and first paralyzed it, then got the luckiest set of it being paralyzed 3 turns in a row while I set up 3 Nasty Plots. Then I finally got to use my Z move and that shit didn't kill it. Took one more Discharge in order finish it off. Swept the next 2 with Raichu and then her Milotic outsped and one shot it. Rest was easy till Beware which kept doing the Pain Split thing and I kept my Decidueye in until it ran out of PP on it.

I wish our characters were animated better. Having my character smile off into space while there's a serious conversation happening. Is kind of breaking my "immersion" lol.

SOS chaining. It's a pain.

You're getting a Corsola from the special bubbling spot right? A Corsola from there has a 20% chance of calling one in for help instead of a 1% chance.

I guess QR scanning will be a thing to help here?

The legit version.

why did gamefreak make the gen VII pokemon so hard to get lol

took me forever to find a stufful, and now i have to go back and find another mareanie with merciless

What am I missing to get past the password guy? I have all 3 passwords, and if I say "No", the conversation just ends. What the hell...

So, are there any specifics on the Hot Tub at the Poke Pelago? I heard you can leave eggs in it too hatch, does it gain a certain number of steps per minute?

Gotten through the Fire Trial just now. Team is Torracat (27), Machop (24), Rufflet (23), Alolan Grimer (25), Magnemite (25), and Slowpoke (25). It feels somewhat odd having a team that's still mostly all base forms even after all this time, but Torracat, Gimer and Magemite are doing well, and Rufflet's been serviceable, even if I'm not sure if it was the right choice to use him over Trumbeak. I really haven't used Machop that much, so I'm open to replacing him when something comes along, and Slowpoke has been doing well enough, but is well...slow. And he doesn't seem to take hits as well as Magnemite and Grimer despite them being a bit slow too.

Just found the Ice Rock in this game. It's really late in.

Yea, if you're planning on using Glaceon in this game, don't bother.

The third island finally gave me my first challenge

Totem Mimikyu took me by surprise. I thought it's ability was a free Focus Sash, not a total damage blocker. Wasted my Desidueye's Z move on the dud turn and the match went down from there. Partner Haunter hit every one of his Hypnosis... I manage to beat it, though, with some techniques I haven't used in years. Putting out a decoy Pokemon to heal up my Mudsdale so it can use that one Steel attack it has (Metal Stomp or Super Crush or something) to beat Mimikyu

First totem down. My team is finally becoming less crap.

Evolved Rowlet, Meowth, Growlith, Grimer, evolved Pikipek, and Grubbin

Same as every game. What about Leafeon? It's usually super late too. Both of them are pretty much unusable in game unlike the other forms.

looking at the stats and abilities of all the alolan pokemon, it looks like im going to have to abandon my "only new pokemon" team idea. coverage looks so weak.

Even if the Ice Rock was earlier in the game Glaceon doesn't exactly has the best move pool to be a viable team member.

Shame really has I have been trying to find a way to add Glaceon onto my team.

4.5 hours trying to get a stupid shiny Zubat. Had to plug in my 3ds because the low battery light started flashing. It still takes this long? Really? I've lost count of how many of these things I've taken out now. All my Pokémon have gone up like five levels in this battle alone.

I'm almost out of PP on all my guys and have expended my entire supply of potions, berries, and ethers.

I'm not the biggest Pokemon player and I probably won't get the new game for a while but shiny stuff sounds nuts lol. I've never seen a shiny Pokemon before.

I guess it's just cosmetic and bragging rights? Or is there something special about a shiny Zubat?

First Bagon hatched and it's an Adamant. Life is good.

Or at least it was until I checked Serebii and saw that Dragon Dance is an egg move and it can only get Outrage from the ORAS move tutor. Fantastic.

----

Also, whoever decided that Salandit should only evolve when it's a female, and that only 12.5% of them are female, and it's just hard to find in general, should feel ashamed of themselves. Took me way too long to find a female one of those.

And I can't even imagine how awful it's going to be to breed one with a decent nature...

Poison Touch A-Grimer witb Poison Fang is a wonderful thing.

It really is, I used Poison Fang on some totem I think, it got badly poisoned but its berry healed it. Then Poison touch activated lmao. Alolan Grimer/Muk seems like the best Alolan form to me so far (in game of course).

Ugh, grinding BP is a pain in this. In XY you'd get 1 BP for killing a Pidgey. Now they start with real Pokemon and real sets.

You can rent teams from the internet now though, with QR codes I think. Though I understand that if they start at the levels of Super singles it might be a pain.

Normally it's just cosmetic, but from what I understand call chaining in sun and moon also increases your chances of catching a Pokémon with perfect or close to perfect IVs.

Male Pokemon with cute charm have a 2/3 chance of finding female Salandit.

Everstones are guaranteed to pass down nature so you could use a Modest/Timid Ditto. It's really not so bad.

Just unlocked riding Charizard and the Pokepelago.

1) In Pokémon Refresh, how do I know what beans a 'mon will like?

1b) What's the point of upping friendliness anyway?

2) Do I eventually get a thing where I play bad touchscreen mini games to juice my 'mons EVs?

So apparently Wood Hammer Mimikyu is a thing

Same as every game. What about Leafeon? It's usually super late too. Both of them are pretty much unusable in game unlike the other forms.

I know Glaceon is usually late, but this is even later than normal.

Leafeon, I don't remember seeing the Moss Rock, but if it's where I think it is it's not that far in.

Even if the Ice Rock was earlier in the game Glaceon doesn't exactly has the best move pool to be a viable team member.

Shame really has I have been trying to find a way to add Glaceon onto my team.

I've used Glaceon on various teams and it's always been useful to me. Shadow Ball, Ice Beam, and Mirror Coat give it enough versatility IMO.
