Pokémon Sun & Moon |OT| Ultra Beasts and where to find them

Lots of people do Oranguru - Passimian trades and the like on there. They're just taken almost immediately so you don't get to see them, whereas the stupid ones aren't taken very often. If you put your own Passimian on there and asked for an Oranguru you'd probably get one very quickly.

Exactly this. If you want a fair trade on GTS put a deposit down, don't seek.

Im guessing battle spot doesnt auto level pokemon, but how exactly do you fight those on your friend list? Link battle online only seems to show guests and vip, unless friends list people automatically are vip?

Acerola being in the E4 instead of Nanu is a cute "twist". I love her design, she's so cute.

Her dialogue after you beat her is hilarious.

What'd be the better ground type move for 10% Zygarde, Thousand Arrows (Hits Flying type Pokemon or Land's Wrath (Basically Earthquake)? They both have the same base power, but meh, help me decide lol

Omg, the girl who gives you Aerodactyl mentioned she wondered if there was someone out there who can use flying types as well as Olivia uses Rock types, turns out there's a flying E4 member. That's some awesome foreshadowing.

I unintentionally made Serena in the character customisation...

Is there a better way to get 2/3 Star facilities in the Festival Plaza outside of grinding FC and hoping? The guests favorites always seem to be 1 star.

It's incredibly how bold Sun & Moon is

The dex entries, some of the sidequests, the overtly sexy characters... it's all great and fresh in a way that Pokemon usually isn't (since it plays things super safe)

Really enjoying myself

Im enjoying all the presentation changes, but I just wish they didnt make connecting to people online so...unintuitive.

Festival plaza was a nice idea in general, but the passerby system from X/Y was so much better. Also it was easier to just pick someone from your friend list and fight/trade.

Also, one prediction before I get to the end:
Kukui is the champion. Been guessing this since I he started talking about building the pokemon league. He's the only reoccuring character I haven't fought except for Lillie, but it'd make no sense for her to be champion.

Called it.

Yeah, that's a clear case of 1 step forward, 2 steps back

You wanna know what else sucks? Goddamn. Reinforcements

lol yeah, I didnt think they were so bad at first (another chance to catch a pokemon i might accidently ko) but now it gets annoying. In totem battles it makes sense, being boss fights and all.

Yea in Pokemon Stars/Eclipse or w/e, they should definitely restrict that to just Totem Battles. At the very least, make it be one of those visual markers (like the dust clouds, or the rustling grass) that people get a chance to actually try and avoid, rather than make every single encounter have the ability to do that. Because I don't think it should go away completely, since it does have its benefits.

They should at least make it so a Pokemon can't attack and call for help the same turn.

True. I didn't bother mentioning that, because it seems less likely for them to do that, but who knows.

On another note... I don't think I like Zygarde 10% very much. Think I'll probably stick to Flygon after all.

I'm about to do the Akala grand trial, and I've been shuffling Pokemon around the whole time. I still don't know who will be on my team, but I want to get that finalized soon.

I've been playing the entire game without EXP share, and the game has been thoroughly challenging. The game is very nicely designed because:

- The EXP formula prevents you from being too over-leveled.
- The Pokemon distribution is balanced. You get good type representation without being handed multitudes of overpowered Pokemon that simply steamroll.
- The enemies are pretty strong, though the AI still makes stupid decisions sometimes.

Omega Ruby was a cakewalk even with EXP share off, and don't even get me started on XY. The only aspect of Sun that seems broken so far are the Z-moves, and I won't even touch those.

So this game has good difficulty, good region layout, and characters/story that don't annoy the hell out of me. The music is much better, too. Man, this really does make up for XY in a lot of ways.

I have used the following:

Dartrix - lv 28 (He will be on my final team.)
Slowpoke - lv 22 (Can't find any other good water types yet, and I'll probably replace her.)
Ribombee - lv 27 (Has been useful, she could be on final team.)
Pikachu - lv 27 (Alolan Raichu will be on my final team.)
Lycanroc - lv 30 (Grinded a level 23 Rockruff primarily for the 4th trial. Lycanroc Sun has been useful, but I can't guarantee he'll be on the final team.)
Hariyama - lv 26 (He'll be very useful for the current trial, but I'll probably replace him afterwards.)
Alolan Persian - lv 22 (He was a good early game attacker, but I dropped him.)
*Growlithe - level 20 (Grinded solely to pass the fifth trial.)
*Fletchinder - level 24 (Grinded solely to pass the fifth trial.)

*I'm lacking good fire types, and female Salandit is too tedious to acquire. The fifth trial was definitely the hardest for me, and my strategy revolved around Intimidating the boss. When I got its attack low enough, I was able to inflict status and kill it pretty easily with my other Pokemon. This fight was damn tough the first times I tried it, and I seriously had to strategize for once!

I'll post later when I've actually decided on a team. I'm liking the game a lot.

Can a Salamence really be called in from a Bagon SOS call? I've been chaining Bagon's for the past hour with no luck. Am I wasting my time. A level 10 Salamence is really appealing.

I don't have any pokemon that can learn False Swipe through the TM. Is that normal? I want to use it. Seems like a great ability to help catch more pokemon.

Salamence is a part of the 1%

(as in, you have a 1% chance of finding one :x)

EDIT: Ack...!

Bagon on Route 3 can call in Salamence, yeah.

Edit: Also, people should keep in mind that the percentage for SOS exclusive Pokemon is based on the encounter rate of the basic Pokemon. It's not necessarily the chance of it being called in.

I'm not a fan of *endgame spoilers*
Olivia and Kala being in the E4, but Acerola and Kahili somewhat make up for it.
.

I'd actually love to hear what you guys think on the selection, but for me *endgame spoilers again*
they had so many great possible candidates like Colress, Mina, and Molayne, or even Sophocles, Plumeria, Wicke, hell, even Grimsley to bring some experience, any of them would have been better choices than the kahunas AGAIN. Imagine, to compare this with past games, if you had to face the gym leaders again as part of the Elite 4. Acerola was a great choice, and Kahili was amazing because you actually hear about her if you explore around, even though you don't see her, and it really feels like she's an elite trainer. Not complaining about the "champion", though.

That and the post-game were the only disappointing things of this game for me.

Sigh.. thanks for the reply. Hopefully one answers the call before I fall asleep.

Just started playing today. I'm not evolving my little buddy Rowlet until level 36 at least. He's at level 18 right now with 5 hearts of affection already.

you should have brought a salandit though - dragon rage does half of lurantis's health

A quick question (spoilers for events right after second hakuna):

I wasn't able to catch that Ultra Beast jellyfish, was I? It fled before I even tried.
