You might want to look at brightness, contrast, color and color temp, etc.

Got off the phone with a Samsung rep and I was told my KS9000 probably won't ship until Monday which sucks because I was hoping to get before the weekend but that won't be happening.
I guess as long as it comes in one piece and it works then I can't complain.

I think its a great tv for the price. Bluray and 4k looks good. Also low input lag for gaming too. I watched a few 4k (non hdr) demos at my friends house and it looks good compared to my ks8000.
But I like the wow!
How is it for sports? Being a 60hz TV makes me wary, then again it is a budget TV.

I'm with you Kev. I'm looking for a compromise between looking extra nice and having decent input lag. Wonder what those settings would be. I've never had a TV with super low input lag so it's not something I really feel like I need in my life. But I sure would love an eye-meltingly good picture.
It's a good thing you can completely ignore that unsubstantiated claim, then. Most of the processing that isn't available in game mode has more to do with cleaning up noise and artifacts in an image that just don't exist when they're being generated locally by your console.
You can still have a high-contrast, bright, colorful image even in game mode.
Does it really matter when UHD blu ray materials don't reach 1000 cd/m2 for the majority of the scenes (or if it even hits that brightness at all)?
Even KS8000 can only maintain that brightness for a few seconds before dimming itself.

To be honest, on my Bravia X800D 4k/HDR I don't really notice the image degradation when I go to game mode.
Without a doubt though, I imagine certain TV's have shitty game modes that really fuck up the IQ. When that happens, you have to make the choice about how lag affects you. And, on what type of game you're playing.
BTW, whatever you decide, make sure you always leave smooth motion (soap opera affect off). That shit will really worsen input lag like no other 'feature'.

Does anyone know if Best Buy would price match the samsung EPP prices? I doubt it. I do not want to wait until next week to get my set.
I can't test input lag, but turning live color onto low or medium, and temperature from Expert1 to warm or even neutral gives you almost standard or vivid level colors if your goal is that.

My friend has this television and I believe it is only 1 input which supports the HDR function. I'm positive of it.

I believe just 1. The other ones do 4K iirc, but not HDR (good for PC?)

Make sure you do the guy a solid and let him know which one. Don't trust people to look at TV manuals. Cus' they won't.
Hopefully the TV has it marked with a sticker or something on the back. My Bravia doesn't tell you shit.

Only the HDMI 1 slot supports HDR. The others will still give you 4k though. For mine I just put in my PS4 on that slot and the Chromecast in the other, since my chromecast is just the regular 1080p one.

The Sony Bravia X800D (43 inch or 49 inch) has two inpurts out of the four that support 4k 60hz with HDR at 4k. I made a thread for this TV. Own it myself. It's a good tv.

I've been using just the TV sound for my entertainment center for over 10 years... I use a great pair of headphones, and mic for all gaming so I'm kind of impartial here. I think it sounds great, but my bar for just watching TV or movies sound is really low.
Some day I'd love to get a good surround sound setup, but they are as expensive if not more than the TV itself and I care more about the image.

I'm sort of in the same boat. I don't really like having my sound too obnoxiously loud I just hope the sound of the KS8000 comes in fairly clear and has some punch when it needs to.
Gotta say I'm really excited about getting a new set for such a great price. The TV looked superb in the store and is a massive upgrade over my 10 year old DLP
What I'm doing for the time being is using optical out from the tv to my old, hdmi 1.4, receiver. There are some drawbacks but it sounds great to me.

Picked this guy up today for my folks and did some quality comparison shots. Obviously It can't really show the expanded color gammut as the display turns it to SDR when we share here. But the TV is fantastic and I couldn't recommend it more. It does a very amicable job at HDR too. Do not be afraid to buy this set. and to those who said it's a bottom of the barrel TV, you couldn't be more wrong. This is some incredible value on display here.

So I'm on the fence between an LG 55"UH615A and the Samsung 55" KU6300, leaning more towards the LG because of the better viewing angles. They're both $500, I see the Samsung KS8000 for $729, can't really justify spending nearly 50% more right now for a 55" set that I'll replace in 2 years.

Man off screen camera shots are so meaningless, especially trying to show HDR. I still can't recommend that TV; save your money unless your TV broke and you can't afford anything more. It's still bottom of the barrel when it comes to 4K and HDR. Without WCG, I feel your wasting your time and money. Get something with at least better HDR. That TV is the short term I need it now burn your money play. Waiting until WCES to see what's in play next year is the wise play. That $300 TV will still be around then.

Like a broken record at this point man. We get it. Those of us with it are very happy. No need to convince us how wrong we are.
IPS has better viewing angles but pales in comparison for contrast and black levels. VA is superior here. I would also verify the LG is true 4k and not some weird pixel configuration that I have heard they use in there lower end panels. Check rtings.
For the price right now, you can't beat that Samsung 6290/6300. Great picture quality, 4K w/HDR Lite, and low input lag...for $480-550 (50-55").
It's probably the best budget 4K TV for gaming all things considered, since you're at least getting a light form of HDR and low input lag.
If you need a 50-55" TV now, and have a $450-550 budget I don't know what else I'd recommend right now to be honest.
If you find an extra $500-1k on the floor to add to your budget, then we can talk other sets sure but that's not with these 6290/6300 models are about...

The poster probably shouldn't call out my opinion if you don't want me to respond to it. Great that you're happy with it but I'm sure plenty of people in the regretting their 4K TV purchase thread because of HDR were happy at the time too. HDR is the biggest game changer moving forward. Not getting something that supports it decently is going to get left behind quick.
The reviews and everyone here are quite clear about the HDR on the set. People can make up their own minds. In a year or two the mid range sets will have full HDR I imagine. Why buy some high end set you can't afford that even now is not fully fleshed out. My opinion.

Reading the various threads, I don't think it is clear. People see the HDR like it's a check box on a list without understanding what HDR is or that not all implantations are equal. I think the HDR marketing on this TV is deceiving since it doesn't support WCG and I'm pretty sure not everyone knows that or what it means.

Defimetly. The input lag on the LG is atrocious. Only positive is the viewing angle. Unless you watch tv and play games at some extreme angle I don't even see this as a consideration.

I'll agree with you on that for sure, it is kind of shitty of them to advertise like this.
When I first went to target last week, they had an LG 49 inch for $400 that said "HDR Pro", the Samsung I ultimately went back and bought was "HDR Premium".
Neither of them are actually HDR 10. The LG is some form of Dolby Vision while the Samsung is limited HDR as discussed ad nauseam here. I am happy with the TV, but it is absolutely deceptive.
