It's not that they can't, it's that Marvel doesn't want to (or didn't want to, if the rumors of Marvel lifting the ban next year are true.

). Yes, some of them have been Avengers (hell, Pietro & Wanda are mainstay Avengers themselves), but I clearly Marvel didn't care.

Also, Squirrel Girl isn't a mutant anymore, either. That being said, the way the comic handled the whole thing was funny (as the author kinda threw a shade on the Marvel execs).

About the Marvel ban, they are still releasing a ton of new x-men comics nowadays, so there is hope that they change their mind. I think we will at least see Wolverine, Deadpool and Wanda even if most of the X-men guys are left out.

Also, I wouldnt discard a Star Wars cameo in the form of DLC, since they have been releasing some good Star Wars comics too for a while within the Marvel brand.

Damn, havent read anything with SG in since Bendis's New Avengers (and I hate Bendis for what he did with Nova and Starlord), so didnt know she wasnt a mutant anymore, will check the wiki haha.

About the Marvel ban, they are still releasing a ton of new x-men comics nowadays, so there is hope that they change their mind. I think we will at least see Wolverine, Deadpool and Wanda even if most of the X-men guys are left out.

Also, I wouldnt discard a Star Wars cameo in the form of DLC, since they have been releasing some good Star Wars comics too for a while within the Marvel brand.

You'd also have to factor in when the change could have hit other branches of Marvel Entertainment. Also, most of the new X-Men merch was from Funko, whereas other merchandise out there are still Fox-free for the time being.

Even if that happens, we'll know sooner rather than later because they're going to be bombarded with "where are MSS?" questions, probably moreso than anywhere else X-Men characters have been excluded by Marvel.

It's not just MSS either, Wolverine's history goes further back in the vs. series.

For all we know all of Lupinko's twitter teases are just a prolonged eulogy.

That may not necessarily be true. It's entirely possible that Capcom could have gotten in on Marvel's change-of-heart at the last minute, but couldn't get them ready for reveal until later. Of course, this is assuming that the game happens at all.

Strange was already in UMvC3 and was one of the best ones done, with specific hand movements requested by Marvel directly.

This is essentially the MvC1 format. MvC1 is a fun game but once you experience the jump to Marvel 2 it's hard to go back. The wacky, craziness is dialed back down and all the possibilities and strategies reduced as well.

And as far as competitive Marvel goes, it has always been 3v3. And the "Mahvel hype" started with Marvel 2.

This is essentially the MvC1 format. MvC1 is a fun game but once you experience the jump to Marvel 2 it's hard to go back. The wacky, craziness is dialed back down and all the possibilities and strategies reduced as well.

And as far as competitive Marvel goes, it has always been 3v3.

I mean, I get that MvC1 was 2v2 + 1 assist each, but Mahvel didn't really become Mahvel (the insane competitive game) until MvC2.
