US PSN Holiday Sale Week 3 (12/20/2016 - 12/26/2016)

I just nabbed Catalyst and Shattered Dimensions. I already own Catalyst on PC but my card can't seem to get 60 FPS and I heard the PS4 version gets pretty close most times.

it's really not that great alone, the fun is coordinating orders with other people.

the stages are designed for multiple characters they way they split up/isolate people.

if you're coordinated enough you can do the 2 characters on 1 gamepad mode, but i'd really only recommend it for the local multiplayer aspect. I play it all the time on PC through steam link with friends and it's a blast.

I would not recommend playing it by yourself, though you could Share Play it with a friend (or two friends splitting a controller) if you're connection is good enough. It's a blast with friends and family. I rank it up there with Towerfall, Helldivers, and the Jackbox party games as my favorite couch co-op games in the past couple of years.

Thanks for the info. I might pass as it is suuuuper rare to ever do local co-op.

Hitman PC for $15 earlier, now Mad Max PS4 for $10.

Pretty good day, and plenty to do during the Xmas break it looks like :)

Now if I could find Dishonored 2 and/ or RotTR for $20 or under, I'd be set until GR2 next year hehe.

Destiny is so frustrating for me.

Like, I have everything up to and including Taken King, but I kinda wanted to wait for a discount to hop on Rise of Iron. So why is it that the Collection Upgrade is $32, but ROI by itself is still $30? Really making me want to just keep ignoring it. Well, I guess there's always Destiny 2, whenever that ends up happening.

Is the Adventure Time Investigations gsme halfway decent? I got my son into watching Adventure Time with me and for $3 he might enjoy it.

Have you tried Share Play before? My son played Overcooked with a friend online using Share Play, and it worked well even though our connection is "low" by Share Play standards.

Like Towerfall, this game is hilarious fun with friends (Helldivers, too, but you can play that online).

Platinum'd Bloodborne when it came out, been waiting for a sale. No need for me to get the DLC right now as I'm not gonna replay it anytime so I'll just get the game. DLC I'll hold off for another sale down the line.

The Bloodborne situation shows how bad the store is at handling things if your own the base game. So I can't buy the Bloodborne goty edition because I own the base game? So dumb. At least give me an upgrade option at a discount.

Other storefronts have figured this out. Why can't Sony.

At the very least they should have the dlc expansion on sale too.

Currently listening to Frame Trap (Easy Allies 2nd excellent podcast) and they're talking about the greatness of Bloodborne which I stubbornly haven't tried (I've also never played a Souls game) and I feel like I'd be letting them down and the rest of GAF down if I didn't spend a measly $8 for that game.

So, i'll get that.

I enjoyed it. As an adult, the puzzles are pretty straight forward, but your son might still find some challenge in it. The story and dialogue are pretty good if you're an AT fan so I could definitely see you two having fun playing through it together. The battles are crappy, but quick and easy so it's not a big detraction.

Well to be fair that's up to the publisher to decide if they want their DLC to be on sale.

Excellent insight, very much appreciated. I'll pick it up and play through it with him.

It's not just Sony I just dislike the way dlc is sold on console. For example RB6 Siege season pass went on sale for 19.99 on Steam but then stayed 39.99 on PS4. Steam has upgrade options too if you own the base game. Sony needs to get on the ball to compete or I'll just not spend money on their store.

Okay, I need some advice: do I get Hitman: The Complete First Season for $30 today or wait on the collection they're releasing next month? I just have the feeling that they're going to include more with the latter.
Where the fuck is U4?

EU already had it for half price man.

jeez.
Not sure if digital is non-negotiable for you, but it's currently $24 with GCU at Best Buy, $30 at Best Buy (and Amazon) without.

I loved the first one back in the days but didn't buy catalyst cause I heard the game was really bad.

How similar is it to the first game ?

In same boat. Got full GS on 360 back in the day. Is second game worth the price.

If you enjoyed the movement and world of the first, you'll enjoy this one as well. Some of the open world stuff is a little hit and miss and the story is once again pretty thin, but you can just go through the story missions which often feature large, linear set pieces just like the first game which are a ton of fun to play through.

Even Steam has issues. I was always mad when Skyrim DLC would be more expensive than simply buying the Legendary Edition back then.

DLC honestly feels like an afterthought for most punishers.

Just got Minecraft Story Mode for $11,99. Pretty great deal for 8 episodes.

I'm a huge fan of Telltale and Minecraft was the only one I was missing out. I just finished Episode 1 and I loved it. It has that Borderlands comic vibe that was so great on Tales. I personally never played the original Minecraft and I don't plan too but the story Telltale created is really compeling. Can't wait to play the rest.

Go Order of The Pig!

Of course muramasa complete goes on sale, but not the dlc by itself. Should I just bite on the complete edition?
