Anyone think Capcom would acknowledge William Grey (Dark Void guy?) again by putting him in? My friend brought him up, actually.
I wonder if there are any games that Capcom would NOT want to include in anything ever again...
Deep Down?

I mean, they used SFV Ryu, so I wouldn't put it past Capcom to do 2014 Strider Hiryu.Do you think that Capcom will add any of Hiryu's new abilities from Strider 2014? Would Strider 2014 be the default look like reboot Bionic Commando was the default Spencer?
EDIT: Probably not, if they're reusing models they'll probably just transfer his model from 3 to infinite
But that was a 3v3 game, this one is 2v2. Although I could easily see 2 protags and a villain.Last game we got 3 DMC reps so I would say that 3 is the limit .
Nah, too similar to the original.
The fact that they are reusing assets makes it likely it will have a bigger roster than vanilla mvc3 not smaller.
Actually, each side only had 1 DLC character, & they didn't come out until about a month after launch. The same people who we believe the rumors of fox chara as dlc said low 30s for base roster hence so many doing speculation 16-18 characters per side so at best we'll see as many as base mvc3 (which had 18 per side plus 2 dlc chars at launch)

Also, I don't think Ryce gave a finite number for the base roster.
In the case of Street Fighter games, the base roster is usually pretty small to start with. SFIV ended up with 22 or so characters for its console release because it wasn't the first version of SFIV. The arcade version of SFIV launched with 16 characters, then added 3 more later (Akuma/Gouki, Gouken, & Seth), which was later followed up by the console version adding more characters on top of that. SFV didn't have an arcade version come out before the console version (& unlike MvCI, it redid everyone's animations from scratch), so its base roster was comparable to SFIV's initial arcade release.Yeah my brain combined my per side vs total roster into a confusing wording (there were 2 dlc characters at launch total, 1 per side)
He said low 30's though and I wouldn't interpret 36/38 as low 30s. Besides this is 2016/2017 capcom/fighting game, why give fans a 2v2 fighter with the roster the size of even base mvc3 when you can give us a slightly smaller one at launch and have fans pay for dlc character packs for years ala sf5, ki3, and mkx.
Loki's definitely going to be in. He's far and away the most popular MCU villain.
Got it, thanks for clearing that up.I never said anything about the roster count. I might have mentioned what I'm hoping or expecting to see, but I don't actually know the final number.
Exactly. Even if Daredevil and Elektra make it in, that's probably all we'll see out of his sphere of characters and the Hand as well.
Given the specs listed by Eurogamer, slim. Not impossible, but very unlikely given recent developments.Sorry if this has already been discussed but what are the chances of this coming to the Switch? It looks like switch could run it but still probably not going to happen.
As with any Nintendo console, the best policy is always assume there's no chance in hell until you see an official, unpredictable announcement.Sorry if this has already been discussed but what are the chances of this coming to the Switch? I don't think Ryce gave out the numbers. It was someone else.
MvC3 had 36 characters on Day 1, so it's not that far-off of a guess. Plus, with the reused animations for the veterans, you'd kinda expect there to be more characters overall as compensation.Yeah it was the second person who confirmed he heard the same thing about Fox as dlc. I guess you can argue it hasn't been double source leaked like the fox dlc, but I think low 30s is reasonable guess for a base roster. The real question is for the marvel side will the base roster be mcu exclusive or will it feature characters with no current or future mcu plans. With capcom's side the question is how many of the one off character franchises will be represented vs multiple characters from the bigger series.
I also think expecting similar or more at launch to mvc3 with a 2v2 game is setting yourself up to be disappointed.

This was always a Marvel game.I would have liked to believe that back when the game was ???? Vs capcom they had most of the capcom side done before it became a marvel game
For sure. With Jay Ong at the helm of the Marvel video games division, with a goal of putting out higher quality Marvel titles starting with Insomniac's Spider-Man, I'm sure they were the ones to reach out to Capcom. This was always a Marvel game.
Also I would like to remind everyone if you want to check up on rumors or leaks, then you should check second post on first page because I would keep the information up to date much as I could.
Rewatched the footage and I realized that tag-ins all happen on the ground, even during combos. Can you not do team aerials anymore?
Yeah, it wasn't too long ago when this game was considered a pipe dream.Still can't believe this game exists tbh.

That's one Capcom game I never played. Was it good?![]()
I will never give up hope.
Kinda thought I might be done with gaming once FFXV ctually released. But they have pulled me back in.Yeah, it wasn't too long ago when this game was considered a pipe dream.
I dunno if we'll ever get that kind of escalation in fighting games(or games period) again, It was quite the ride goin' from only the X-Men to MvC.Kind of surprised they didn't go just go back-to-basics of a Marvel Fighter with 3, and then iterate on that along with SF4, then do a mixup by the end. Guess Tekken vs SF got in their in a weird way.

Doctor Octopus had complete art and a theme. Pretty cool to think about.
I really hope this character is revisited for Infinite.
I'm guessing that they got his Spectacular voice if he was that far along. Either way, I hope they revisit the idea at some point.https://twitter.com/fubarduck/status/812449257143894016

Breath of Fire is one of the few notable Capcom franchises to not have a rep (and indeed, it never has), and it does have that mobile game on the way.
I don't think Ryu really has a chance due to the unavoidable naming problem, but Nina could be unique both with flight and magic spells.
