Quick question guys,

What is the best assassins creed on pc? Performance wise and fun wise?

Haven't played any of them except 4

Thanks!

Fun wise? Brotherhood. Nothing like the feel of calling your boys in to assassinate the fuck out of someone in broad daylight while you are blending in with a crowd.

The only thing I've bought during these sales so far is FFX/X-2 Remastered -- and that was from the EU Square-Enix store. Yup, another disappointment, it seems...

Oh, and I don't know if this has been pointed out already, but it seems GMG really needs a good copy editor. :P

I have a soft spot for 4, but Brotherhood is definitely the stand-out game of the Altair/Ezio bunch.

They basically took all the great things about 2 (which is still regarded as one of, if not the best AC) and built on that with a beautifully realised Rome location.

It also visually holds up quite well but being as old as it is, it should run just fine on almost anything these days.

Darkest Dungeon has been on my radar for a while. I was about to add it to my cart and I'm looking at a literal flood of negative reviews recently. I don't usually put too much weight into these but this one has me worried.

I really like the game, but it gets kinda grindy in the endgame. I bought it at full price months ago and don't really regret it.

It fell of my radar when I read that a campaign even with the upcoming "quick mode" will take 40h.

But a flood of negative reviews? When I look at the game right now in the store, it says it has 97% positive reviews of the 2453 posted the last 30 days?

Great game, very fun and challenging. Not sure if there was a recent update that made people upset but I've been playing for a few years now and have never had any issues.

Brilliant, thanks! I keep forgetting to mention my specs in posts like these. I have a 1060/6600k so I doubt I'll have a problem with brotherhood.

I will probably get 2 and brotherhood and play through them. The Assassin's Creed movie got me in the mood, but considering the reviews for the movie, I'd stick to the games!

Thanks again

Me too! Which card do you have? I've got the EVGA 1060 SC and everything runs wonderfully on Super High or High/Ultra mixed settings.

Sounds good. I just wasn't sure if they were too similar to make it worth owning both.

I picked up Gungeon for 7 bucks after playing it on PS4 first. Amazing game but very hard as you can imagine. The bullet hell can get crazy in that game, but the pixel art, the animations, the variety all kicks ass.

I just picked up Owlboy as well. You're welcome GAF.

Yeah I was talking about the most recent 40 or so reviews.

I got Abzu and Brothers from Nuuvem because they were slightly cheaper. On Steam itself I just got the Penny Arcade RPG 3 and 4, Volgarr the Viking and Shadow Warrior. Less than $15 spent, and I'm happy with just that.

Tyranny is really good, but fair warning, it's a lot of reading. And when I say a lot, I mean a f*ck ton of written dialogue. But, it's well written and goes to character and world building. The setting, lore, characters and combat system are great.

I mean, are we talking more verbose than Pillars of Eternity? I kind of fell off of Pillars (which I really should try to get back to) because it was just so almost needlessly wordy. I mean, Baldur's Gate 2 is probably my favorite game ever but playing Pillars it often felt like they were upping their word count for the hell of it sometimes or inventing fantasy sounding make believe words and then laying down a paragraph explaining what that multi-syllabic word meant in plain English.

If its well written wordiness that's fine. From everything I've read about Tyranny, the world and setting seems a little more intriguing than Pillars, so its got that going for it, I guess.

Wanting to buy Doom from GamersGate UK as the price (10 GBP) is better than the USA GamersGate. Does anyone know what region key I will get from uk.gamersgate.com? The page doesn't seem to suggest anything and I figure people here have jumped on the Doom deal, maybe even twice.

Also, wanting to get Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain for 8 GBP from GameBillet and was wondering the same thing. he website suggests that everything is global, unless specified in the description. Twitter has not been responded to with an answer.

Thanks.

Also,

What did you guys think of Danganronpa? I loved 999 & VLR.

Amazing. Would instabuy it if I hadn't already played the games on vita.

Absolutely trash and not worth being in the sentence as those two games.

BTW, Danganronpa is one of the best games on the PS Vita and one of my favourite games overall.

Maybe a bit less wordy than Pillars. And definitely less weird lore wordy; Pillars had a lot of words like Eir Glanfath and the like that kinda muddied it at times if you didn't really want to sink yourself into it. If nothing else Tyranny is about the length of a chapter and a half of Pillars on average, which helps.

Does anyone know why the Deathspank games other than the first never go on sale? I've still yet to play them since they've never dropped in price to my knowledge.

Both of those games are completely region free

Did amazon.com give up on the PC Digital store?

Seems like they don't do sales anymore, and honestly navigating the store for PC digital games is a mess.

any thoughts on Saint Seiya? I was a "knights of the zodiac" fanboy when I was a kid, does this capture the feel of it? That show had some pretty specific special moves.

Is there a story mode, and if so is it meaty? Im not looking to go online or anything.

It covers 4 arcs if I remember correctly and it has some challenges per mission. I would say it has some meat to it plus there are unlockables. Gameplay is simple and quick to pick up and play. There is enough characters to play with and the dub options are great (despite not having English dub)

The online if you ever go online is actually rather solid.

Spent about $18 as a treat for myself. Just wanted to add a few simple indie titles to my library.

N++
Bleed
Particle Mace
Environmental Station Alpha
Crypt of the Necrodancer

I still have other Steam games to finish and my longer-term commitment is Dark Souls. So, while there are many tempting titles in this sale for me personally (Transistor, Trails in the Sky, Ori and the Blind Forest, Stardew Valley, Hyper Light Drifer, etc.) I'm just not willing to commit to it all.

Still, while I know a lot of people aren't as excited about Steam sales as they used to be, I'm actually pretty new to this and man, I've gotten a lot of great experiences thanks to Humble Bundle and the recent Steam sales. I'm way more into Steam gaming now than I've ever been. So, while the current sale might not offer everything to everybody, it (and the Summer and Autumn sales) have provided me some really fun experiences on the cheap. In short, no complaints.

Where on a game's page does it indicate when its sale will end? Or will they all end at the same time? Can't seem to locate it.

Way more reading than Pillars of Eternity (which I've played through twice). It's amazing to me how much written dialogue is in Tyranny. It's well written, but I have to be in the right mindset to play (not tired late in the evening after a day of work).

All right, that sounds good. I'm all for longer RPGs but every once in a while a shorter one sounds good too. Is Tyranny replayable much in terms of making different choices that lead to different outcomes or does it wind up in the same places pretty much no matter what you do?

Yeah, that's been the bane of me getting through lengthy RPGs lately- the whole, get home from work and just feel too tired to really sink into anything that requires too much thought. So long as Tyranny is a little lighter on the weird lore wordiness for the sake of wordiness like Pillars and it's myriad fantasy proper nouns, that'll probably help.

PEGASUS RYU SEI KEN!

Does he do that? :3

Hey guys,

My LDR girlfriend and I are looking for a nice game to co-op together. Anyone know of any relaxing online-co-op games that could fit us? I was thinking something like Stardew Valley with co-op.

Speaking of Stardew Valley has anyone tried the multiplayer mod with it? Were there any issues that made it a bad experience when you did?

Thanks and Happy Holidays!

I believe he does or one of his many versions

If you want I got 1 spot on the family library sharing. You can try it from my account and if you like it buy it. We can talk on steam if you like.
