Steam Winter Sale 2016 thread of hoping for better deals elsewhere

Does anyone know of any games comparable to the good front mission games on steam? The turnbased Mecha RPG is really an underdeveloped genre.

Also, what of the dynasty warrior anime style games are good on PC? And isn't berserk supposed to be on steam? Don't see a page for it yet

OK, I feel like I'm going crazy. Earlier this week, one of the sites (I think Bundlestars) was doing a promotion where there was a new offer each day for 5 days. The first day was $2000 in Steam keys and you could enter a few times a day. There were 4 additional stars in a graphic representing the additional 4 offers they would be putting out.

But I can't find any evidence of this anymore.

Who would want a english dub anyway?

PEGASUS RYU SEI KEN!

Does he do that? :3

Yeah, brazilian dub or bust !

Is N++ good without a controller?
I really like platformers but playing one with a keyboard seems kinda iffy.

Well, you really only use d-pad and jump in that game. It's also reallyyyy fun but difficult. So I'd say it's playable with keyboard but not superb?

Did amazon.com give up on the PC Digital store?

Seems like they don't do sales anymore, and honestly navigating the store for PC digital games is a mess.

I just type in the games on my Steam wishlist in Amazon's search bar. Amazon does have some decent deals, I got Dishonored for <$10 a few months ago.

They still do them and they price match a lot of Steam sale prices if they have them. Navigation is utter shit though.

PC -> Digital Games and DLC -> Digital Deals

should i wait for god eater 1 to be released on steam before playing 2?

like story reasons and stuff

You get #1 for free it looks like according to the steam description:

Swear your oath as a GOD EATER and drive back the supernatural harbingers of Earth’s destruction. Buy GOD EATER 2 Rage Burst and get GOD EATER Resurrection FOR...

Did a quick playthrough of Abzu. About 2 hours on the nose. Very pretty -- and yes, Journey is the closest comparison for sure.

How long is Firewatch?

3-4 hours, give or take. I have 5 hours on the clock and I deliberately took my time, collected every item in the world I could (collecting items is a massive hassle and does nothing for the game or achievements) and booted it up a few times after finishing it.

If I finish buying all the Skyrim DLC via the Steam sale will I automatically get access to Special Edition - or was that only valid when the Special Edition first launched?

I've bought Ys VI and Dark Souls 3 and am trying to figure out what to use my remaining $17 and some change on.

Pretty sure that was only valid when it was launched.

(Buy Xanadu Next.)

Is there a quick way of seeing a list of games that are on my friends wishlists? Instead of going to each page 1 by 1

Im sure its divisive but im really into the FF4 art style, even if its super blocky on pc (since it was a 3ds game). Its making the decision to buy 3 during the sale easier and easier. Ill most likely snatch up 3 and 6 (since ive been wanting to play 6 for ages and I want to do it in 2017, android port or not) and leave Lightning Returns and IX for the summer sale, as ive not played XIII or XIII-2 yet, and IX is a bit on the expensive side.

Really wish that fucking humble monthly was unveiling the games before the sale was over too btw. Not that it affects these particular games, but its putting a hamper on my decisions overall.

You know the sale is pretty poor when you see the steam controller on the top sellers page (#14, US store).

It's cheap, unique and even if I'm crusty and refusing to adapt while gaming intensely, it's by far the best couch web browsing controller there is.

I'll git gud with it for FPS games one day.

Yeah if humble would reveal a second game halfway through the month you just didn't get it immediately that would be sweet.

So Assassin's Creed Rogue. It is cheaper to buy the base game and DLCs separately than it is to buy the Deluxe Edition which doesn't seem to add anything.

Am I missing something?

Long shot, but are there any deeper discounts outside of Steam for Grim Dawn? I've gone way over budget on christmas gifts lol

Doesn't look like it. You should have bought it from someone when it was back in the Humble Monthly. I think I paid someone $6 for it. I am sure it will be cheaper next year if you can wait.

Oh interesting point about creed rogue
I myself could get it for around eur 13 for deluxe over at uplay myself but this might be a bettet alternative

I made a character in ESO and then couldn't decide on a name and scrapped it.

Aaaaaaaggghhhhhhh....

Only when it launched.

I remember someone mentioned I am Setsuna don't run so well, does anyone know what issue it was? Mine seem to be locked at 30fps and running with 3% gpu usage, lol, I tried disabling v-sync but don't seem to help.

edit: nvm, seems like it's my settings in gedosato

edit2: actually I don't fucking know, i hate the unity engine when it comes to downsampling, gonna just stick to 1080/60fps
I am setsuna runs fine but inwouldnt recommend getting it
Grandia 2 and the trails series are better alternatives

What's the deal with all these Ys games? What makes them special? Oh and i'm a sucker for good combat in RPG games but i don't like the traditional JRPG gameplay. Is there any game i should try out in the series?

How expansive are the choices and branching in Expeditions: Conquistador?

Also, finally made it to 1000 games. I some what regret the years of buying endless bundle trash but do miss the Russian key days.
