2016-17 TV Cancellations Thread: TNT finds "Nothing can come of nothing."

As long as there's others still liking or loving it, I can't fault its existence! For me, though... not for me :(

That sounds like an entirely too healthy attitude to have. I think I'll still keep rooting for everything I even remotely dislike to be mercilessly canceled. Happy holidays everyone ;)

Stupid Ellen Pompeo complaining about something and getting it cancelled. If a television channel can't even financially support the KKK anymore, what world do we live in? It is time to permanently blacklist the people that thought it was a good idea to pay them. How on Earth does anyone think this is a good idea?

A&E had a show for the holidays
Said it's going to do good
But it never got there
It never got there
It never got there, they say

My baby took the KKK away
She took them away
Away from me
My baby took the KKK away
She took them away
Away from me

Voted on your thread Ratsky but unfortunately I dont have 10 2016 shows to include because all my viewing comes from netflix these days and they are usually 1 season behind.

As I browsed the vote thread (and this one) one thing became clear tho, I need to warch Black Sails apparently.

Just wait until the fourth season is done and binge it then. That is what I'm going to do. I waited too long already to not do the entire show on one go.

oh by the way, I watched season 3 of brooklyn and fu guys I still like that show damn it, fight me!

Ok real talk its clearly not as good as season 1 and 2, but I still love the characters, and I still love a lot of the interactions and reactions (Jake and Boyle still kill me). David Palmer's cameo was great too, and I guess I now understand why they are in Florida for S4.

That being said... Im not sure if I would be upset if it ended lol >_> Like, I still have one more to watch when its on netflix, and I think if I ever needed my fix I would just rewatch them again or something. I mean Ill be glad if theres a S5 (or has it been officilly canceled?) but I wont exactly curse Fox if its over.

Dirk Gently was my favorite show of the year, it completely blew me away. My fvorite shows consisted of stuff like Dirk, Stranger Things, Kimmy or Lady Dynamite so yeah, I dont like mundne ok?

I get enough mundane in my real life

Ok, so TV-gaf who will be the one to sacrifice themselves and watch that Chasing Cameron thing Netflix put up?
I mean, I would watch it, I truly would, but Netflix already filled my "person certain section of the internet loves gets his own Netflix show in which he has no black friends" spot with Flaked. Sure, Chasing Cameron is (allegedly) more "real" life but whatevs.

Where are these shows coming from? Feels like a new one drops every couple days. I'm not brave enough. I saw a trailer and have less than zero interest.

did anyone watch Crazyhead? Yes its another new netflix show >_>

premise looks weird and up my alley tho, and its only like 8 eps, so I might bite the bulltet on that one

Netflix's output this fall has been really weird. Every time I am on there, some new Netflix Orginal has been added. It looks like they have gone for Quantity over Quality. Kind of a shame to be honest.

They even got a show starring the build team from Mythbusters...
Sucks, what a waste of time and money.

There's actually a new episode of No Tomorrow tonight? :lol

I just checked and it's saying the same thing for me. That's cold, CW winter burn off. I fell way behind on No Tomorrow and Frequency. Really liked No Tomorrow but I think it would work better as a half hour comedy. Contemplating just waiting for the season to end and watching the rest on Netflix

Started watching The Expanse, halfway through the first episode and im actually kind of impressed so far. The world building is great, it looks really good (and expensive), and im actually invested in both the story on the spaceship and the space station. I remember some of you guys saying it was good too so color me excited for the rest.

Edit: damn didnt see that ep1 ending coming

But how much of this is actually produced by Netflix. It seems like they are just buying random shit from foreign markets.

I have issues with how it deviates from the book at the end, and the characters don't really hold much likeness...but it's still the best damn science fiction on TV. Best since Battlestar Galactica.

It's clear they spent all the money on the space station because the other sets look worse than that Dark Matter show. Like, somehow starships in the future use office chairs with wheels on them bad (although, admittedly, even Star Trek was cheap and used those chairs at times).

(most of those aren't netflix originals, they're foreign shows netflix bought the domestic rights to)

I do feel it would be worth getting an additional brand to this.

I.e. Netflix Originals Vs Netflix Imports or something.

Although I'd also say most of the public don't care who first imports if as long as it's on Netflix to watch and they should protect their original brand programming by not sticking their name all over the shows tile.

I feel like Netflix is trolling me as they have put another Star Trek show up, Voyager this time (did put up Enterprise a few days ago) and STILL no Next Gen >_>

This is not a test.

We are ten (nine, depending on how you take your countdowns) days away from Emerald City.

We are almost there.
OMG!
So excited!

Oh I expect to be speechless all right.

I caught a handful of episodes of The Detour during TBS's binge programming. I have to say, I found it funny. The son in particular was entertaining. Anybody watch this show?

Yea i binged the season one weekend. One of the better shows from TBS

Beats out GOT and Westworld and whatever other critical darling in GAF's 2017 show of the year.

Fuck it, maybe Emerald City will be everyone's critical darling.
I'm thinking of organizing a ballot stuffing initiative to make it win GAF's 2017 Show of the Year.

How far in the book series does each season go? I've only read the first book of the series so far and I'm wondering whether I should finish the book series (a substantial undertaking) before starting the show.

I'm assuming this is a running joke because of how bad it looks right? Or is there info you guys know outside of the publicity stuff shown by the network?

I assume it's TV GAF's equivalent of Dudebro. lol

I thought that was Thrones.

Like literally everyone thumping their chest as loud as they can about it in spite of it all, because it's popular and in the zeitgeist.

Emerald City is ... I don't think there is/was/ever will be an equivalent. Except Emerald City.

I am genuinely curious and excited what this is going to be, since it's had such a weird path getting to this point. Plus it has Tarsem Singh directing, Vincent D'Onofrio in a wig doing wizard poses, Skyrim-esque lion sword killshots, a sexy scarecrow, and (non-ironically) it has a pretty unique style and look to it.

Plus this looks like a family Christmas photo, so there's that, too.

I mean Thrones is probably one of the best shows on television right now. Nothing really can compare to it.

Are the women on either end supposed to be speakers? Does that make D'Onofrio the sub-woofer?
