And the main problem here is each person has vastly different idea about what "characteristic aspects of anime" exactly are. Rhaknar's point is that it's an arbitrary and meaningless classification.
I know that Chinese censor skeletons and skulls, thanks to following the updates of Dota 2.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere of Rusty Lake: Hotel and Roots but the complete lack of integration between the puzzles and story was weird for someone who doesn't really play find the object/room puzzle games. Some of the more abstract things present in Roots worked in a surrealistic way but I mean more just random box puzzles everywhere.
As for the Monster Hunter comment I was speaking more of the tone and writing than the designs. I feel like the translation is generally pretty universal and doesn't rely on tropes whereas God Eater's first two hours are filled with some of the worst generic anime stereotypes.

How far along is the restoration mod for Final Fantasy VI on steam?
I read about some mod that did wonders to the UI and merged the best sound and sprites of past versions. Never played the game and I'm considering buying it now or waiting one more round for the Switch VC version.

Final Fantasy is pretty darn anime.
Monster Hunter has a lot of characteristic aspects of anime.
If you're thinking on playing it soon (Pony Island) I'd recommend buying it in this sale. Is pretty cheap (1,64 iirc) and it's not long (2 hours and a little more if you want to 100%). Is also great for playing on little bursts!
Had no issue with it persoanlly, other than it being locked at 30 FPS.
