Steam Winter Sale 2016 thread of hoping for better deals elsewhere

Some of the games I wanted to try out after so many months of hype:

Undertale, Shovel Knight, Shantae Risky's Revenge & the Pirate's Curse, Her Story, LISA & DLC

I thought of buying a bunch of shit, but I think I'm just gonna finish that Microsoft RTS bundle and buy some Rocksmith DLC since I bought some strings finally.

GE is anime while MH is not. MH seem anime due to the exaggerated armor, but that's more in-line with McFarlane than anything.

One thing that separates the two ia that MH has no weird super power bullshit, weird physics aside. Your characer doean't go super hunter pheromones catgirl mode. The brutish, clunky look and movement of the hunter makes them relatively more grounded. GE characters meanwhile wouldn't be out of place in Tales.

but there's no animu games on EA

Plants Vs Zombies was anime all along

Wow...Edward is shit. Give me back the old man ;_;

Is Necropolis: Brutal Edition worth it for (most likely) single player? It's been on my wishlist forever due to it's Dark Souls-like combat. I picked it up, but I've heard tell that after about 3 hours you've seen everything the game has to offer. Most of these comments though are about the shipping edition, is the Brutal Edition much better? $16 CAD is a bit steep for a couple of hours of play, especially if it is only enjoyable in co-op.. so I want to keep it under the 2 hr refund time while I mull it over. All the Let's Play style videos I've found are co-op, which looks great, but I won't be able to do that (unless it supports group finder style with 3 randos).

I'm curious about Pony Island but I also feel like it will be in 17 IndieGala bundles before summer.

For you Endless Legend players, which of the (75% off) expansions do you prefer? I enjoy the base game and was thinking about picking one or two of them up. I really enjoy the questing side of the game if that matters any.

Pony Island has yet to be in a bundle, and it's proving popular enough that I wouldn't bet on it showing up in one.

EDIT: Wow, that was a late reply. I aught to hit the refresh button before replying to things.

I have just bought the cheapos because of you, peeps.

I'm guilty of buying those $1 games when I see they have relatively expensive cards (for me to sell), Refunct ones are like in a $0,15 range

prog.1 is another interesting $1 game with notbadprice cards

lol looks like modbot has been choking on almostheathen's mega giveaway continuously for 2 weeks; it keeps trying to edit the giveaway and failing because the character limit has been hit. It's no problem, but that's a lot of unnecessary edit attempts.

So... I may have gotten sucked into Glittermitten Grove to the point where I didn't even notice any portal to any other game when it appeared. And then when I did, I might have still kept playing GG for a bit before deciding to check out the FF.

Haha man Sunless Sea is super baffling when you first start it until you parse out the weird way their "inventory" and quest considerations are written. For a solid 10 minutes I kinda just stared at some text prompts trying to decide if I was super drunk or something.

Apparently I'm a sucker for removed games too since I just bought Silent Hill Homecoming and Rambo for some reason.

My pride and joy is still the removed Outrun on my steam account.

Poor modbot. Working all those unpaid extra hours.

Stumpokapow will be Skynet enemy #1

Everything gets bundled eventually, and it looks like the type that would get bundled regularly once it does. It's also been out for a year now and is 67% off (and already fairly cheap). All of which screams bundle fodder. But I'm considering it, I do enjoy bizarre experiences and I'd like to play it before I get spoiled.

So far my haul is Soma, Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition (gift to me), Shovel Knight, The Talos Principle, and Dishonored. Excited to play each of these games.

Yo I was about to say what kind of
mage is Rydia that she cant cast fire
but its actually for story reasons so that's pretty cool on you FF IV.

the cool thing about ff4 is that it has neat tricks up its sleeve like that

the uncool thing about ff4 is that it uses those tricks repeatedly, again and again, for the entire game and it gets kinda old by the end

I'm not so sure about Pony Island being bundle fodder. I've played it, and despite the appearance of cheap indie bundle fodder around it it, it's really not - it's tight, it's ridiculously well produced & plays really well. I think they've managed the price well.

Saying that, I don't doubt it might end up in a Humble Bundle Monthly, but it's unlikely to end up on indie gala, if that makes sense. It's well worth its current price in the steam sale.

Get the fuck out of my party Edward, my waifu is here now

Edit: oh its a 4 member party system like 9? Ok Edward I guess you can stick around >_>

I want to buy Subnautica but am fearful that it will end up in a Humble Monthly in a month or two..

what to do what to do

Am I missing something with the scythe in God Eater Resurrection? Seems like Y is a long range attack and as you get closer to the enemy the damage goes to nil but the range itself isn't long enough to ever be useful and it's slow so it's better to just mash x?

Pretty into this "explore the whole map to get a reward" system FFIV has going for it.

Geez, if you undercut the market by a penny your cards just flyyy into people's hands.

It's glorious.
I want to buy Subnautica but am fearful that it will end up in a Humble Monthly in a month or two..

what to do what to do

Option A) Buy every Humble Monthly forever in the vague hope that you'll get the game you want to play buy now at some point in the future instead.

Option B) Get a job at Humble so you know what's coming and can then have your cake and eat it, too.

Option C) Buy and complete Subnautica before the next Humble Monthly, feel a slight tinge of regret if it ever shows up there, and then buy that Humble Monthly anyways because it has something else that's of interest.

All roads lead to Humble.

This is me with Invisible Inc.

Yup, exactly. Humble Monthly has taught me to never buy any mid tier indie game again. That and the fact that I'm terrible about actually playing them. But now I've got Steam credit from Christmas presents burning a hole in my pocket and I'm tempted to spend.
