Bones had quite the triumphant return for its final season, as you can see.

The Middle came back kinda strong after the break. Sucks that The Real O'Neals is struggling to hold on to that 1.0. That show is definitely getting cancelled after this year. It's a good show (and one for the gays!) but ABC just has too many family comedies nowadays and something's gotta go.

Nice to see The Mick holding on strong despite New Girl and Bones dragging it down. I figure as long as it's doing better than those two then it'll get renewed.

No Tomorrow: More like "No Viewers."

At least there's only 2 more episodes before they put it out of its misery.

Its a shame really, just watched the pilot episode and me and my wife loved it. Its quirky, charming, insanely beautiful actors, great chemistry, and fun. Might be too old for the CW target audience though since the cast is all in their mid 30s.

Has the main guy from Galavant, just in the pilot episode he goes topless a few times which my wife appreciated greatly, the guy who used to play Darcy on Married with Children, and the main actress is Tori Anderson who is drop dead beautiful

Hope the rest of the episodes are as good and they at least finish the season up.

The pilot was great. Unfortunately, for us many of the subsequent episodes haven't lived up to it. Just a heads up, hopefully you'll like the subsequent eps better than we did.

how did Shadowhunters of all things get a second season

I think this year was special considering all the mystery surrounding what the theme was, even though people had already correctly guessed it. They kept a pretty decent mystery going as to what the structure of the season was. Shame what it ended up being was boring as fuck and lost me not too long after the midseason twist.

Nah, it's always been highly rated.

Is this a show i should be watching?

Based on the first season: No.

Hmm, now that's interesting. Successful Disney channel sitcoms almost always get 4 seasons. They might be 4 seasons of varying length, but it's almost always 4 seasons. Good Luck Charlie, Hannah Montana, That's So Raven, Austin & Ally, etc. I gotta suspect it wasn't doing as well as Disney expected given the high amount of interest when it was announced. It feels like cancellation talk popped up fairly regularly and they didn't even give them a TV movie or anything.

I bet the cast was more expensive than the other Disney sitcoms too. Other shows the adults are pretty disposable, but I bet the leads on 'Girl' had plenty of room to negotiate a nice check. The show isn't possible without them.

How heavily did they factor into the show?

I stopped watching in Season 2, but pretty heavily. Cory is in the dad role and the Mr. Feeny role. So he would pop up in the classroom scenes with the gang of kids, in addition to Riley's home life. And then Topanga would get her own stories, usually connected to the youngest kid.

I think the balance still wasn't what the OG fans wanted. Fuller House appears to be more of a success in that regard.

Girl Meets World was beautiful, it is terrible that it is done. I'm done watching Disney Channel because of it! I was only watching Girl Meets World so that makes sense. It is probably the end of the career for Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel, but I hope Rowan Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter stay acting. Corey Fogelmanis should also have a real shot, he is one of the best actors on the show. Amir Mitchell-Townes should apply for a Fresh Prince reboot, he'd be perfect to take over his dad's role.

The finale will at least seem like a true finale:
Feeny, Morgan 1, Morgan 2, Eric, Turner, Amy, Minkus and Allan are supposed to be all back

Cast is fairly young, they are nearing their 30s. Xavier is 29 for instance, Evy is 28 and Timothy is 27.

I think it could have been a real success as a Fuller House mainly-for-fans-of-the-original type thing on maybe ABC or Netflix. I know that putting it on the Disney Channel and (seemingly) gearing it more towards kids turned a lot of people off who might have otherwise been interested.

Definitely. It's almost like they put it on Disney to replace Good Luck, Charlie but it doesn't quite hit broad enough to grab the same audience. Plus, there are expectations going into it. Still sad to see it go.

I watched one of these.

Not a surprise at this point, as for the ratings I'm pretty sure it was in first place for its target demo, even its 18-49 it was fine to pretty good for cable and one of if not the most watched show on the Disney Channel. After this season it did badly need a new network because the show was on starting to feel stunted. It not getting a fourth season though is interesting and leads me to believe there must have been something going on behind the scenes to prevent it.

From back in August.

· "Girl Meets World" was the No. 1 TV series in Tweens 9-14 (788,000/3.3 rating) and the No. 1 series among kid cable TV networks in Total Viewers (2.6 million) and Adults 18-49 (896,000/0.7 rating) and added an additional 5 million consumer engagements via VOD/STB.

I was just going to say, I watched most of S1 but it was just boring for the most part because it didn't really do much for anyone who watched the original. The episodes themselves were mostly "girl" centric, and it was clear that they were aiming this toward children (or maybe families) first and not nostalgia nerds.

Fuller House is unapologetically pandering to the 80s kid, much in the same way that Rogue One wants you to remember it's Star Wars, so even though it's pretty terrible, people still enjoy watching it.

If this was on ABC and just billed as Man Meets World and ran next to Goldbergs or FOB, I bet it would have done gangbusters.

just a heads up, when B99 gets canceled im blaming you personally Ratsky.

Netflix's new multi-cam sitcom One Day at a Time is actually getting really good reviews. Seems like it's the first standout show of the season (and only 6 days into the new year!).

The show should probably end before too long though, tbh.

With Ben Savage as the lead? I doubt it, he's too awkward, his comedic timing is atrocious and the kids acted circles around him on Girl meets World.
Man meets World would have crashed and burned after the initial hype of Boy meets World returning was over, it would have been cancelled after one season after an unsuccesful mid season retool that saw Eric moving in after being released from whatever institution he had been in after he ran naked down fifth avenue screaming his squirrels stole his robe because the writers forgot Plays with Squirrels was only part of a dream sequence on the original show and not a persona Eric actually adopted.

I honestly don't remember much about the performances, but it can't be any worse than the Fuller House acting where half the time the actors are just mugging for the camera.
Besides, with so much nostalgia porn on TV these days, if they just kept referring to old episodes of Boy Meets World and made TGIF/90s references (maybe Urkel shows up), people would eat that up. It keeps The Goldbergs going. lol

The show should probably end before too long though, tbh.
They just need to merge the show with New Girl and reboot it as a 1 hour dramedy.

I'm actually a little surprised that Girl Meets World is getting cancelled. Thought it was doing okay for Disney. But maybe it really is just too expensive

The twist for Drew Barrymore's Netflix show Santa Clarita Diet has been revealed and... well, coming from theguy that made Better off Ted it's not really shocking.

Spoiler of the twist:
Drew Barrymore's character dies and becomes an undead that feeds on raw meat/humans

USA Today Article:

I'm putting it on spoilers but they're apparently going to run ads on the Golden Globes and they are running them already on some tabloids. But just in case.

Wait. Viceland is making a scripted series?
Viceland.

I'm sure that it will go well.
Viceland is entering the scripted series arena with comedy What Would Diplo Do? (working title), starring, written and executive produced by James Van Der Beek and also executive produced by Grammy-winning musician/DJ Diplo
Just swell.
In WWDD, described as "Louie meets WorldStar HipHop crossed with This Is Spinal Tap, Van Der Beek plays a fictional version of DJ superstar Diplo in a collection of parables about life as told through the eyes of guy who can bring 60,000 people to their feet... but kind of sucks one-on-one. "The show doesn't take itself too serious but it's not cynical," Van Der Beek told Deadline.
Sounds just lovely. And not at all like you took three incredibly disparate things, obviously not understanding either of them, and then ended it all by saying nothing.

Maybe I should've posted this in the pilots thread, but jesus this is getting cancelled so it's just premature rejection of the show.
