Wonder Woman Is a Disjointed Disaster (Says DC Insider)

The trailer looks terrible, as like all other Snyderverse movie trailers.
There's just... no excitement going on that I can feel with Marvel trailers.

Usually Marvel movies are like, welp Marvel's really trying to milk now, and then you watch the trailer, and it surprises you and you want to go watch it.

Nothing of that sort for me with Wonder Woman, even though she already has such a kickass theme going on for her.

Snyder's involvement could literally be as much as, "Here are the beats we need to hit to tie it into the other movies in the universe". We have no idea.

Snyder didn't write this movie. He just has a story credit.

"Here are the beats we need to hit to tie it into the other movies in the universe" could be all you need to make a movie disjointed mess. I don't know how anyone can salvage the disjointed characters and story beats in the other movies.

I don't know, the folks over in the DCEU subreddit thought Wonder Women trailer was amazing. There's a real hype train going on there.

those poor souls are hanging on by a thread at this point

One day they will snap. I still remember fondly when the Dexter subreddit turned into more of a Breaking Bad one upon the final season and its last episodes.

At least Cavill and Affleck were good casting. Gadot is a bad actress and doesn't look the role.

suicide squad, age of ultron, thor films

you can put out any piece of crap with a dc and marvel logo (and a cinematic universe behind it) at this point and it will make bank. i firmly believe that if that Ryan Reynolds green lantern movie came out now and had a ben affleck cameo or some shit it would have been a success.

Probably. Aside from Iron Man those first Marvel Studios movies were just sort of there. After Avengers, I guess audiences decided they need to check in every episode to stay caught up.

It's funny that the base script for Green Lantern has Clark Kent in it.

DCEU diehards and a Nintendo die hard venn diagram is one big circle

Just people trying to get some attention.

All they've said is that they haven't heard anything not that they've heard differently or have their own sources contradicting this one.

This may all be bullshit (and I really hope it is) but these two journalists (one of which is a suicide squad fan) does not contradict this source.

The trailers sold it for me regardless, I feel like they can just play her theme music whenever she kicks someone's ass and I'll be satisfied.

But this is DC we are talking about.
Snyder set the tone for the rest of the universe no matter who is directing so like yeah......it's unfair that wonder woman finally gets her own joint and it's going to be wrecked probably due to politics of the industry.

You keep on using that word, but we're not talking about facts and lies here. They're not even saying that the source is lying or that the movie is going well, just that they haven't heard the movie is a mess.

At one point, an insider claimed Fan4stic was looking great, and we all know how that turned out.

Or when the Arrow subreddit turned into a Daredevil subreddit after the season 4 finale.
Arrow is back though baby. S5 been so good.

People actually want Nintendo Games and a lot of Fanboys want them to go 3Rd party so they can play their games. I don't think a lot of of non DCCU fanboys want to watch DCCU movies.
I think some people just want to watch the trainwrecks. At this point, it's more entertaining than the movies themselves.

At the very least, DCEU gave us that nice Man of Steel theme and the warehouse scene. Some redemptions.

At one point, an insider claimed Fan4stic was looking great, and we all know how that turned out.

And at a different point an insider from the same show as this one claimed that Suicide Squad was a mess, and we all know how that turned out right?

Not saying I'm believing either sources, it's just rumours, but right now I'm in the state of indifference regarding DCEU. So it's either true or bs, we'll see when it's released.

Because of how easy it is to sell "DC film is in trouble" rumours after Batman V Superman and Suicide Squad, I would probably take all insider information with a pinch of salt.

I don't know if the bad batting average of these movies works for, or against it, but seeing how Wonder Woman was gestating the same time as BvS and SS, I expect it to carry similar problems.

jesus fucking christ. That's not what I meant at all. Stop with the hyperbole. But you can't honestly say that SOME critics might score this a 7 instead of a 6.8 because they want more of these types of movies? Wonder Woman is a major titular character, unlike Catwoman and Elektra. I'm not saying they'd make it a 9 if this was obviously a 3 or 4. And again, SOME critics. If this movie is average to ok, I could definitely see it happening. It's not like I'm mad or anything if they did that (how would I even know?). I want more female lead superhero movies and I want them to be good.

If the movie ends up being terrible, I could see a lot of major critics not wanting to tear it down as gleefully as many of them did bvs and suicide squad. The tone would be different. More sighing disappointment than full-on savagery.

You also gotta remember this is a tiny comment that's in a two hour long video, this is only getting traction because other people are talking about it.

Just look at the video's title and description, if they did this for views, they did a terrible job at marketing it since it's nowhere to be found.

That's what I'm saying. There's hearsay it's a mess, there's hearsay that there's no such hearsay, we'll see in a few months. Given Warner's trackrecord with the current run of DC-movies, I wouldn't be surprised if it actually is a mess story-wise. On the other hand, it's Patty Jenkins, and Monster was great, but that was 14 years ago and nothing of note since then.

They don't even timestamp this story in the description like they do for the other topics if they just wanted views for the insider information they got from her.

Why do they have to reboot it? If the shit sucks just stop making it and move on to other projects. There is no need for a DC cinematic universe. It was a terrible idea to begin with. "Hey, uhhhh let's do what Marvel did!" It's a lousy cash grab with no thematic spine.

I just assume all DC Universe movies are gonna suck ass until proven otherwise. Its best not to get your hopes up, and be pleasantly surprised if its actually good than to take the other route.

Not bloody surprised. Everything about this movie screams "Sucker Punch 2" albeit with poorly established comicbook characters.

Chris Pine will be chewing the scenery like no man before.

Hopefully Aquaman movie is proof of that considering the director it has.

What evidence was there in favor of it being a good movie? Trailers weren't anything special. It being another DC mess is the expected outcome at this point.

I hope that if it does horrible critically that they just reboot the universe tbh

No chance, they'll release Justice League first. And Aquaman has begun production by then, so that will see a theatrical release. Everything is so tightly knit together, that there's no room to change course. WB went all-in with the DCEU, and they have to ride this out.

When are the Cyborg and Flash solo-movies due?

Cyborg is 2020 and The Flash is apparently still March 2018. The Flash still has no director so I find it extremely hard to believe it is coming out that soon.

..why do they keep letting snyder ruin the mass market reputation of some of the most iconic characters in the history of pop culture

Seriously, if this was Disney they would've realized far earlier that this was embarrassing and sullying some of the biggest IP in the world. Snyder would've been done a long time ago.

Based on her appearances on the Collider shows, Sasha Perl-Raver really wants Wonder Woman to be good so I doubt she's doing it just for the views but she doesn't have much of a track record with Hollywood rumors. It's not hard to believe that WW is a mess but I'll wait for more sources. Justice League though, I believe that movie to be a mess by default.

Save us, Aquaman.

But 2017 actually looks okay for DC fans. Rebirth was fantastic last year and that softened the blows of BvS and Suicide Squad for me so if WW doesn't deliver this year, we'll still have the comics, Lego Batman, Justice League Action and Injustice 2. Not too bad.
