Megaton. Durante helped Xseed fix up the Little King's Story port

Wow. Durante fixing up one of my favourite games of all time. What a hero. Read the whole blog post, fascinating.

This release was a tragedy, now it is one presumably redeemed. Everyone should experience this wonderful game.

Great stuff. Little King's Story is such an amazing game -- really deserves wider attention. Definitely going to recommend this now that it's been updated.

Off-topic, but I must be going crazy. Wasn't your face your avatar just a few hours ago? I was wondering where you went then noticed your new avi and understood, and now it's back to the old one.
Haha. You are not going crazy.
'twas - but since "Real Pic January" is over, I thought I should go back to the old, and arguably more recognisable, avatar I had before.

Or is everyone now used to how the real me looks?
Does Durante work in the industry or is this more of a hobby for him?

Hobby. Not to speak for him, but I think Durante works at the Uni level, reasearch about compilers and multi-threading or something IIRC.

The whole thing sounds like a fucking hassle for a game's development, much more so when porting to another system.

Kudos, Durante.

Hopefully, more publishers will actually give a damn about their ports like this.

Nice, good work. I was always interested in picking it up, but didn't due to the bad word of mouth about the port.

Does anyone know if the Humble Bundle version gives a Steam key? Usually they do but Little King's Story on Humble Bundle is missing a Steam icon like most games offering a key usually have.

FWIW, I have no idea what you look like, but I recognize your current avatar.

It's a separate, DRM-free version.

(sorry for the individual posts, I am walking home and on a cell phone)

The way the game handles framerate and the effort to completely do 60 fps sounds pretty crazy - which makes the workaround all the more impressive!

Now to do steam or gog.

I'm glad he's actually getting paid for fixing this stuff now.

I mean how much money did he make Bamco for free? Dark Souls wouldn't have sold the nearly 3 million copies it did without DSFix.

I hope people here read the entire article so they can see what goes into a "simple" port.

Thanks Durante :D

So glad this is based on the superior original. Buying for sure now.

Very cool. I'm glad to see the guy getting paid for his time. DSFix made the PC version of Dark Souls game of the forever.

Very cool. I've always though that publishers should be buying Durante's fixes and making them official instead of leaving them as mods/unofficial fixes, good to see someone basically did that.

Absolutely stellar news, and as always incredible work Durante!

Bravo to Xseed and Durante. I was so disappointed that the initial PC release was so bad. It's a game I had really wanted to play. (I technically own it on Wii, but decided to wait for the PC version when it was announced.)

Really interesting details about the original version too. Sounds strangely ambitious.

Will finally purchase this very soon.

The Humble Store version does give a Steam key. I just bought it there and redeemed it on Steam.

I just purchased and am currently downloading and installing the game.

XSEED has consistently demonstrated exemplary customer service and long-term support across all of its products. There is no other company in the industry that comes close. I can say that with absolute confidence.

You guys and girls are amazing. Keep up the good work. You have a fan for life.

Did they put on trenchcoats, climb to the top of the building and wait patiently as the Durante signal illuminated the heavens?

I assume they just sent him an email or letter to his university email/address, since its likely the most public contact info and he is likely to look.

I held off playing this because of the user reviews (I did buy it, though). Gonna play this real soon now, looking forward to it! Great job!

Definitely hoping this becomes a thing, (assuming Durante has enough time for it).

No.

Also, XSEED are pretty awesome.

And sadly, the game still isn't quite perfect at 60 Fps. Read the blog for details.
Developers should hire you to Pro patch games (Bloodborne I'm looking at you... but this case I guess there is the language issue).
