The Charmed and The Lost Boys pilots have been delayed to 2018 at The CW. The network has enough pilots for the year, while these two weren't ready. Charmed needs to be rewritten while The Lost Boys needs to be written in general.

This is a thing airing today.
James Franco (“Why Him?”) returns to Lifetime to executive produce and star in the new thriller, “High School Lover” (#HighSchoolLover), featuring Paulina Singer (“Orange is the New Black”), Francois Arnaud (“The Borgias”) and Julia Jones (“Longmire”).

When 17-year-old Kelly (Singer) hits the town for a wild time with her friends, she isn’t expecting to meet Hollywood’s hottest “it” guy, Christian Booth (Arnaud). After a night of intense flirting, Kelly assumes that she’ll never hear from him again, but she is happily surprised when Christian begins texting her. Despite their age difference, Kelly is smitten with her new crush. Even after Kelly’s father, Rick (Franco), discovers their relationship and forbids Kelly from seeing Christian, nothing will stop her from being with him. But soon Kelly discovers that Christian’s adoration is turning into a dangerous obsession as the truth about his past slowly comes to light. Produced by Elysium Bandini Studios, Franco executives produces along with Vince Jolivette. The script is written by Amber Coney (“Mother, May I Sleep with Danger?”) and Jessica Dube (Smack) and Jerell Rosales (“Life in Black and White”) directs the movie.

I already commented in the thread but it's not my flavor at all. I watched two more episodes during lunch and I'm still not digging it. Olyphant is the bright spot but I think I'm done watching anymore. Braindead and iZombie did this comedy/horror thing MUCH MUCH better. But I thought Stranger Things was just okay. What do I know? lol

Stranger things was boring as shit, only watched 1 episode and was bored to tears.

You would think after Rush Hour bombed
And now Training Day

CBS would ease off adapting movies into TV shows.
If Shawn Ryan wasn't involved with SWAT i wouldn't even bother watching it. I'm really enjoying Shooter/Lethal Weapon and enjoyed Limitless but Rush Hour and Training Day were just bad.

Also, how is SIX doing in the ratings? good? Really enjoying it for what it is and surprised that they are dropping F bombs unedited on TV but i don't keep up with a ton of shows so maybe it's a thing other shows do and i am just out of touch.

Decent-ish, I think. I have no idea what their expectations are for it though.

Are you in the US? If so, I'm surprised that History is allowing that, seeing as how not too long ago they were censoring Vikings (the blood/gore/violence, specifically, although blood/gore/violence has always been more acceptable in the US than harsh language, so it's weird that they'd be harsher on the former instead of the latter).

Oh yeah, I was looking forward to SIX but haven't had the chance to get around to it yet. I've been catching up with The 100 and The Originals all night.

How is Limitless, Shooter and Lethal Weapon, are they build up like a case-a-week?

So... SWAT is getting its own tv show now, as CBS has greenlighted a pilot. It's based on the 2003 action movie with Samuel L Jackson, Colin Farrell and Michelle Rodriguez.

What other action movie needs a tv show?

We've gotten Shooter, Minority Report, Lethal Weapon, Rush Hour, Frequency and soon Taken. Maybe even a John Wick prequel show.
From TV to movie back to TV. Why not.

Strangely, TNT tried to do their own SWAT spinoff of that Major Crimes show and it went nowhere. They had a big budget backdoor pilot episode involving snipers and breaching charges and everything. lol
---
Six is like a worse version of The Unit or any of those NCIS shows that are on the air now. lol

Six is fantastic and to the other person i have heard fuck once in every episode on history in the US. I think they are allowing 1 per because one episode clearly blurred out a few words which made the conversation really weird then was followed up a fuck.

In the pilot Goggins says "I am a mother fucking navy seal"

Limitless i would skip so you don't get heartbroken over it being cancelled. Shooter isn't a week-week procedural like Lethal Weapon it's got a beginning-middle-end from pilot to finale I was never bored.

There seems to be a "mystery" in Lehal Weapon but it's only came up once with a strong suggestion that it will play out over multiple seasons probably showing up once or twice a season like Castle did with the detectives father which is whatever I am not invested in that at all I am invested in the relationship and the week-week stuff it's just a super fun show

Wow! History gettin' with the times!

Impossible! It's got Goggins!
He's the only reason I'm watching it. lol

Six is fantastic.
It's really not. That's fine, because it can be a low rent version of MacGyver or Scorpion or one of those CBS old people action shows, but there's nothing remarkable about it in any way. Bad interpersonal soap opera + USA USA moralizing + the occasional boring action scene... it's perfect fromage.

Limitless was a very creative case of the week show that wove plenty of ongoing continuity its episodes, especially as the season progressed. I'm not huge on procedurals but the storytelling and cases were particularly imaginative, the show itself was just a lot of fun and while there are some dangling plot threads in the finale they wrapped up a bunch of the season's story well. I think going in knowing it was cancelled it's still very much worth watching.

At least Limitless ended with a level of closure.

I wonder what NBC is going to do with Friday nights considering Grimm is ending and Emerald City isn't doing so hot. I wonder if it might be worth it to just keep it going if it does well enough internationally and through streaming. They'd probably renew and move Timeless first even though that's gone fractional as well. On the other hand that looks like a co-production with Sony so, eh they're probably both done for especially considering "This Is Us" was a hit.

Looks like a similar situation to Vikings. If you want an uncensored version it's best to wait for a Bluray or somehow obtain episodes aired outside of their US channel.

Do we have the first actually good superhero show in Legion?

It has 100% on RT with 15 reviews in, 83 on MC with 14 reviews in and the review on AVClub (A) got me all hot and bothered:
Once again, Hawley’s been allowed to let his imagination run wild, but Legion is more than a stunning visual and technical accomplishment. At the center of all this technique is a group of outsiders, and the people who want them to either fit neatly into a box, or otherwise exploit them. The mental illness isn’t just a ploy; it’s an ongoing concern that’s treated respectfully. But it does tie into philosophical quandaries, like the question of whether you are more in control or less imperiled if, as David possibly comes to find out, you’re not the problem.

The show also has one of the most affecting, unconventional love stories in the budding romance between David and Syd (Rachel Keller). And, of course, all this would mean nothing without a great supporting cast, which includes Jean Smart, Aubrey Plaza, Katie Aselton, and Bill Irwin. Legion is at dazzling and unusual show—full of extraordinary beings and events—but at its core are the same recognizable, human qualities that Hawley’s previously stretched to the limits.

Such a shame it airs on Fox over here, they're garbage. But at least they've partnered with a streaming service now, so now it just has to air all of its episodes. So I'll be looking forward to watching it in April or something.

Golly gee, I wonder who the ratings winner will be for Sunday night?

If you're determining whether a superhero show is good based on RT or MC, there's plenty close to those numbers.
I'm not just talking about numbers in that post. I'm talking about how it seems to have, I'd hate to use the word "deeper"* but let's go with it, themes and is able to execute those themes well.

*Like I'm not meaning it on a purely "philosophical" level and how everything must be serious and grounded to be acceptable but that there is underlying ideas which influences the direction of the show.
Take say Jessica Jones, and before we start I'm just going to say that I'm not using it as an easy punching bag but it is a show which sold itself in part on its themes of PTSD. This is from an article which praises the show:
Although Jessica Jones doesn’t quite stick its landing when portraying all mental illnesses — Malcolm’s life-consuming drug addiction is seemingly cured after a couple clean days, and two of Jessica’s mentally unstable neighbors are played for laughs — its progressive portrayal of emotional and neurological trauma is a major development for the franchise.
I really, really wanted to like Jessica Jones, but saying that it didn't stick the landing with regards to how it handled mental illness is being incredibly generous to the show. It botched its themes, I can remember it talking a lot about PTSD/mental illness but not really saying anything.
In contrast it seems like Legion is in fact sticking the landing. Which makes me excited.

It's on FX, not Fox.

It's on FX, not Fox.

Note the "over here", I live in Sweden. And in Sweden Legion airs on Fox which is a terrible basic cable channel that airs 70% reruns of Numb3rs, 25-30 % other reruns, and 0-5% new Fox/FX shows.
Adding to that is that they didn't have any streaming options. Now they've partnered with a streaming service but shows don't appear on there until they've finished their run on Fox.

edit:
I just checked the schedule for Fox and I feel I need to apologise. They've burned through Numb3rs so now they're airing 10 episodes of Medium per day. Again my sincere apologies for the inaccuracies in my post.

Watched Superior Donuts yesterday before the new episode tonight. I'm probably only going to give it a few episodes to pick up somehow cause I'm not really loving it.

Is fox paying for legion or is Disney chipping in? I thought those two companies hated each other.

Money heals all wounds.

pretty sure Legion is among the properties Fox licensed from Marvel for a pittance years ago before Marvel hit it big and got bought by Disney

The 100 Season 4 ep1 is up on some Euro regions Netflix, so its another one that airs same week as it airs in US.

Except Nordic ones, cause they suck. I really should watch the 100.

Just as a minor note: there is no such thing as "Euro" Netflix. There are several regions (e.g. Nordics, Netherlands & Belgium, Spain, etc.) and content varies between them. So in your example; in the Nordics there is only 2 seasons of The 100 on Netflix and there is no simulcast (since the rights were already sold to another company here.)

Now there are other shows (like Riverdale) where Netflix has full outside-of-US rights.

I edited it just for you :3
