Neon undeniably looks appealing. Since preorders went back up again on amazon de today (both colours) I simply put both on preorder because I cant yet decide.
Need to see them with my own eyes in a store since neon looks gerat in some pics and not so great in others.
Also maybe too distracting from gameplay in handheld mode.

I doubt it will be distracting though, maybe slightly at the beginning but I guess you get used to it as with everything.
I mean:

In Japan you could order the joycons all blue or all red, right? I would've gone with one of those two.

ETA on new amazon de preorders is march 17th (for both my orders at least), so still some time to decide. (Actually happy about that date as my final exam this semester is on march 16th)

Yeah, baffling the only wat to get single colored joycons in europe is buying the neon one and the color joycon pack.

I swear, if they'd gone the japan route, people would complain about having to buy 2 reds when they already have a red and blue one. This solution is fine.

I think I've decided I need the Neon now after having the Grey pre-ordered for a while. I was surprised to see Amazon still offering day one delivery.

Switch costs the same as a pspro or the equivalent of 393 euro here in norway. That is way too much money just to play zelda and get in on the ambassador program this year.

There's no negative for us, I just feel like the decision might have been motivated by trying to slim down the SKUs for retailers to stock. Retailers' trust in Nintendo is already poor as is. Maybe if/when the Switch picks up those might get introduced in europe as well.

Since I'm super hyped for the game but the LE was lame I was thinking about making the game more special by buying the book, but I don't know. I've also pre-ordered some amiibo but not sure if I'll buy them in the end.

I thought so too. Now I changed my mind and will make the game more special by buying the 20 Eur download content. I'm actually glad Nintendo was upfront about it.
Only 2 weeks and still no price drop in Germany. To be honest, I have no hope there will be one. I guess I'll cancel my order in one week and keep the one from France.

There won´t be a pricedrop for the hardware.
It was the same for the WiiU.
Amazon.fr was much cheaper, but Amazon.de had the same price until launch.
I guess only Zelda will go down to 59,99, but thats it.
Again, guys, the price drop at launch happens if other retailers in Germany drop it like it happened in France.

If it's true, contact a rep with the Amazon Chat. I contacted them on another european one and he gave me a link where I could send detailed info on the other retailer's price and so on.

Yup. Ordered it to work, so I'll just get it from here, buy Zelda on the way home since I assume it's gonna be cheaper at Saturn than Amazon, dunno, and have a fun weekend with it.

That's good and all but not really helpful for me. My current France pre-order saves me 60. No idea when it will be here though. I have two pre-orders from Amazon Germany that I'll most likely cancel. I'm not taking that 600 hit on my bank account. :|
But I'm still curious what will happen with the price mistake so I'm hesitating on cancelling them. Shouldn't Amazon have sent an email by now to all pre-orders definitely saying they won't honour the price?
My two other pre-orders are for store pickup at Saturn and Media Markt. Cancelling those isn't an issue.

Was really hoping for Stardew Valley to make it at launch.
With Mass Effect around the corner I don´t feel like I´ll have the time for a huge Zelda game.
I'll have the game/console on launch thanks to Fnac but I have a competitive exam 2 days before and one week after so I don't know if I'll be available for long sessions.

It doesn't look bad but anyway they are going to sell joycons in a million of colors by the end of the year and hopefully less flashy
By-products are always high-selling goods with famous video games. It's a shame that people spend that much money for just a cover though, but it's the business of the cool book that you put on your table. It's not worse than Amiiboos though

We can be glad FNAC exists. Otherwise, it would be 330 in France as well. There seems to be no competition whatsoever in Germany. Which is a shame.

Wasn't there some temporary pricedrop to 280 for the Switch on Amazon.de where support said everybody will get that price who preordered before? Don't remember exactly what happened

They stopped delivering new orders outside France last week IIRC.
Well, my point was, if nobody takes any action, there is no reason to not cancel those preorders a few days before they ship. The price won't drop.
I don't think they send emails on price mistakes, no. They will just charge your card with the "real" lowest prices when it ships. Did you chat with a rep about that price ?

Guess I gotta eat the higher price then.

They were fined for fixing (diverging) prices in the EU before, I guess that's why they don't set RRP anymore.
