Canadian media is going to be very happy they got some good questions, but if I'm an American journalist, I am seething that no one asked a question about Flynn.

The interviewer on ABC said they were Conservative outlets...i dunno if anyone can confirm but it's painfully obvious why that wasn't asked.

Donald just talked about Mexico for 5 minutes in a press conference with Canadian PM.

Of course he did, he only succeeds with his audience by fear-mongering. He has an agenda and he stays fixated on it to ensure his supporters do as well. Also, he doesn't really know how to use his brain other than to sound off like a whiny little bitch no matter the subject matter.

This is the first time I've ever actually listened to trump talk.

Does he always sound this stupid? Christ. He just gave a 200 word answer that was basically nothing.

200 is a blessing. He then goes on to repeat those 200. The primaries were mind numbing. I watched most

Feeling some economic anxiety there?

What's with this economic anxiety thing? I've been seeing tons of people sarcastically asking if someone has economic anxiety as if it's not a real thing lol

It's literally like "You afraid of losing your job, home, and everything you've worked for? haha"

He always sounds like this. Even when campaigning.

Everything he says sounds like a schoolboy who didn't even know he had a presentation to do, so he just stands up and verbally pulls stuff out of his ass until people tell him it's okay to stop.

Lmao cnn commentator pretty much just called trump Ron burgundy because when trump reads from a prepared speech it seems like it's he first time he's read it

"I'm worried this is going to affect my bottom line" isn't quite as important as "I'm worried about fleeing a war zone" to a lot of people, and it seems insensitive to complain about media coverage of a humanitarian crisis.

Because while it's legitimate sometimes, it is far more often used as a shield/deflection for action that is explained quite easily by the classic, racism or at best, dangerously negligent ignorance.

Also this went about as well as it possibly could considering the circumstances and the tougher questions. Well done Trudeau m

It used to be worse. The sniffing, the wheezing...the actual word vomit he spewed in a scattershot manner was painful enough, but factor in the nasal hemorrhaging and I couldn't last usually more than 30 seconds outside the presidential debates(which I forced myself to deal with).

Taken in the context of a promise from Trump it is a good joke.

1. He isn't saving any jobs. Maybe a few thousand by twitter shaming companies, but nothing substantial.
2. Even if he saves jobs, he fronts the party of union busting, work to rule, anti worker policies. You may keep your job but you're not supporting a family of four with it.
3. The only concrete details we know about trump is how much of a piece of shit he is. His deep, deep character flaws. He has given hardly any real details to his fairyland unicorn promises of getting everyone a job.

So with that in mind, if you voted for Trump on the vague promise of job growth, you're a rube. A rube who wants to be lied to no matter the cost to others.

His speech writers should add more pictures to them to have him look at it before hand.

Meanwhile, in JT's head

"haha these idiots voted for an ethno-nationalist only for them to not get their jobs back anyway when the rest of the fucking world told them it wouldn't work"

It's a legitimate concern to have, I wouldn't vote Trump because of it, but fearing for your family's livelyhood shouldn't be mocked imo.

Is it? I haven't really seen it being used in that way. I've only seen people accuse others of it being used that way. idk, it just bothers me when I see yet another phrase that can "question someone's agenda" in place of legitimately making arguments.

The problem is that it has been used to excuse every Trump supporter by being painted as the sole reason Trump won when the majority of his supporters don't actually think the economy is the most important issue.

You can have whatever concern you want, but I think it's a dick move to prioritize your job over someone's life, and I'm going to continue to have that opinion.

It's a mockery of the explanation for why voters, particularly white voters, supported Trump, that does not include some form of bigotry intended to spite others. It particularly comes up when Trump does something that could actually threaten economic stability and jobs - like NAFTA, or rather, Trump's heavy dislike of it - as an ironic 'Gotcha!' moment. Ie, that if we accept the notion maybe people voted for Trump out of 'economic anxiety', they must be absolutely kicking themselves when he seems quite willing to punch the economy in the balls.

Also, his economic policies are terribly misguided and won't bring back jobs.

Anything worthwhile came out of this?

Got to see Trudeau's handshake technique.

Trump said rambled on about the same shit he campaigned about. Talked about the Mexico border, when asked about the Canadian one. Nothing about Canada's Nafta stuff really.

so no

He wished the atlantic provinces to stay safe during the snow storm, thats hitting tonight.

THANK YOU! 30-40+ cm after we just got 50cm a couple weeks ago. Sick of it.

So you'd give up your way of life to rescue a person in any third world country is what you're saying then. Because you're capable of doing that right now if you wanted to go volunteer some places. Or does the use of that phrase not extend past the simple effectiveness at discounting arguments by "exposing" them as bigots?

You can worry about your livelyhood without being a piece of shit.

This makes sense. If they're using it as an excuse to vote against Muslim immigration and such, then yeah that's terrible. It's just that proving that, instead of assuming that, should be the standard. Or else you have another "gotcha" phrase that does nothing but label someone a bigot when they may not be, just to discount their opinion.

Oh it should absolutely be mocked. Why would anyone actually fearing for their family's livelyhood vote for a guy that will literally send that livelyhood to the trash, fuck up the economy , benefit only the rich and corporations, and abusing minorities to boot?

JT comes out of this as a winner,

there is nothing that the CPC can say but praise their Prime Minister for handling Trump diplomatically and by staying true to Canadian values.

Trump seemed restrained, probably senior Republicans warmed him to not fuck this up.
