well no it's not. My teacher once drew a swastika on the white board to illustrate how powerful some simple icons are to his graphic design students. We kinda laughed because of how absurd it was, but thinking that he's an actual nazi would be throwing context out of the window and being extremely dishonest

This is also why some people jump the gun the exact same moment they see an oriental use of the swastika (also known as manji) without having context

You can call literally anything a joke but seeing someone profit off of calling for the death of millions of people, notably at a time when instances of actual real-world hate crimes are on the rise globally, is pretty sickening. Then consider the average age of his audience, and there are a whole lot of people for whom this isn't a joke.

That's my point. If he gets out of his contract with Maker, he can call his own shots and make content whenever, if he even feels like it. Making your channel painful for Disney to associate with would be one way of accomplishing that.

How do you get this from the Ken Bone video? It was genuinely disgusting how some news sites tried to paint him as some vile internet creep and held no regard for the consequences that those stories could have for both him and his family. Just read this post.

For better or worse, Pewdiepie is a big name in mainstream gaming culture. iirc, he basically pioneered the "youtube superstar" concept. It's not unreasonable to examine him more closely than the average person.
 
Perfectly fine that Disney dumped him, but the reactions in this thread are stupid.

But it's not surprising that many people have taken the opportunity to bash him.

Thats.. an odd argument. You shouldn't damn those for holding people to higher standards just because you don't. Just because its the standard for you to be made to feel inferior doesn't make it right, or right for others to do that to you.

People would be upset if it was a celebrity dude making stupid jokes but the bigger issue here, and what has guided most of the conversation in the thread, is the "dudes" youth audience and the normalization of hate speech and antisemitic humour in a world that is seeing a rise and platform given to white nationalists. Its very dangerous.

You know, i never understood it either until i found some Let's Players personalities that i quite enjoyed and found it to be really enjoyable, its far less about them playing the game and more so about finding a personality you like and watching/listening to them having fun and joking around.

this guy has an opportunity to do something he loves and make millions (more than he already has) doing it and decides to appeal to a sect of immature edge-lords instead of actually acting like a 27 year old man and growing the fuck up even a bit

The three main videos have been removed, like we've said many times in this thread. You should check the WSJ article in the OP before joining in on this conversation so foolishly, so many times. They even have a well put together summary video for people too lazy to read, i'm sure you'll find it helpful.

You may still feel its an overreaction but given Felix's platform and audience, it should be at least a little disconcerting to everyone. The normalization of antisemitic humour is not acceptable and standing up to hatred (intentional or not) is not hatred.

Oh my...the SJWs are strong in here. Never liked Pewdiepies videos but some guys need to calm down before demonizing everybody. So he made some jokes you don't like. Is there ANY evidence he is a nazi besides the jokes in the video? I swear some people here would also call Charlie Chaplin a nazi because of The great Dictator. Stop with the hyperbole. I have nothing against calling him out on these jokes that they may have been in bad taste, but instantly calling him a nazi is just stupid.
