But I bet everyone here thinks Southpark is hilarious right?
Despite their constant Anti Semitism we still think they are funny?

Yep South Park is fucking hilarious. It's also satire unlike the PDP stuff which is just plain old insensitivity/bigotry. Terrible comparison.

Look, PDP done fucked up but...this won't end his career. Let's be real here. Anyone who thinks it will is seriously overestimating the maturity level of his gigantic fan base.

As a side note: not loving that "Nazi" is potentially turning into a buzzword. Dark times, man.

I mean, the corporate money phase of his career is done, especially if he's going to double down. But dude still will pull and audience.

good. The guy says it was a joke but here's my nitpick... you're broadcasting videos to a LOT of young kids... think about what they'll be watching from you. Nitwit

That is why I asked if it was real. I don't follow his videos, I have no idea if he ever actually made something like that or not. Followed by an assumption that IF it was indeed real, it was a lot more than I expected.

Thanks anyway I guess.

Sorry, it was wrong of me to single you out specifically. I just fear that comments like that tend to contribute to the echo chamber if someone swings by, reads that, and then leaves to post somewhere else.

My comment about moving on was directed more broadly towards people calling him a Nazi and other awful things. He's is very, very obviously getting the shit slapped out of him for an incredibly naive and offensive prank, people insinuating that he actually has white supremacist beliefs need to take a step back and examine why they're saying these things and if its something they've throughly looked into and truly believe.

Man I saw someone on Facebook get called a Nazi the other day for supporting a stricter immigration policy.
It's a popular word to throw around now to demonize people you don't like or are an inch to the right of Democrat.

It's getting out of hand. Our grandfathers fought the real Nazis... they are turning in their graves right now.

Damn, sucks for him that people nowadays are overly sensetive and whiny about this kind of stuff really... He seems like a genuinely nice guy.

youre right. but he has other ways of making money like those mobile games and merchandise and im sure his fans will continue to support him

The recent mobile game was a partnership with Maker Studios. Same people who dropped him. There will probably be an update to erase his image.

Actually recently he's seemed like a prick tbh, also his videos have been increasingly sensitive about people finding his new schtick to be boorish.

Him being someone whose life (and income) revolves around social media, he was well aware of the reaction he'd get.

Part of me thinks he done it on purpose, but perhaps wasn't expecting YouTube to distance themselves from him.

In the age of social media and online forums you could say that you don't like McDonalds and you'd be greeted by thousands of people highly offended, close to tears, and wishing death upon you. Anything related to gender, race, sexuality or religion in anyway is a no-go zone, I just tend to keep my opinons to myself on anything like that.

People who are high profile online and choose to comment on those sort's of things are doing it for attention, to stay relevant, and to cause reactions.

It's the Millenial Money syndrome. You're young, stupid, raised on the internet, have millions of people calling you a genius, and have more money than some small countries. Sociopathic tendencies just seem to blossom with some of these folks, and with the instant gratification and lulz culture (read: sociopaths) these folks think they can say whatever horrible shit they want and people will just trip over themselves to suck you off on Twitter. Sometimes I just want to burn it all down.

As he Felix sat down cold, and hungry, homeless on the street, he held up an old banner with the words "Death to all jews" printed on it. As people stared at him he muttered the words "It's just a prank bro."

What a nice guy who frequently chooses jewish people as the butt end of jokes, specifically their deaths.

By "nowadays", do you mean since the holocaust? Because that's how long this shit has not been ok in the eyes of the vast majority.

He makes money over antisemitism, in fact he spreads antisemic messages... That's a cunt move. The only thing I can agree on with you that a antisemite isn't necessarily a nazi.

If you make a joke about homosexuals, does it make you homophobic ?

I do not agree with you either on the fact that he "spreads antisemic messages".

That's... not what happened. It's not "frequently" and using Hitler imagery ironically isn't exactly making jews the butt end of jokes. I'm not saying he didn't fuck up on this last video, but what you said just isn't true

...except PewDiePie isn't a little bit racist; he's explained this situation in a couple different videos already.

Not saying he didn't fuck up with this stuff.

This here is my neighbor John. He makes racist/antisemitic remarks without context over and over. When you point out that is wrong, he apologizes, only to make the same mistake again. A genuinely nice guy.

South Park is well established as a satirical show that makes fun of ALL religions, one of the creators is Jewish and the anti-semitic character on the show is an overt amoral racist that every other character despises.

Why some people are defending him. He's not making stand ups, he may have made a bad joke more than wanting to insult people on purpose but YT is it's job. His employers are just punishing him according to their own agreement and rules. That's just it.

Paying people to hold up signs saying "death to all jews" isn't anti-semitic?

If I paid 100,000 people to hold the same sign to march on washington, would it be anti-semitic?

Where is the line?

Overly sensitive?
Most my friends grandparents died in horrible ways during the holocaust.
Six million went trough genocide, and he dressed like a Nazi?

Canceling his show is the least he deserves.

The thing is, he could have made those guys hold up a sign that said kill all the anything else in the entire world.

"Kill all the clowns". Now that would have been funny, because clowns are fucking creepy. That would have been a joke.

The guy sure is good at making teenagers think he is there best friend. I haven't seen a defense force like this in a while.

I have no problem with YT or Disney releasing him. What I'm defending is the jump to he is a racist or a nazi based on that video.

God if I was every joke I (tried) to make I would be the worst person possible.

I think we're all missing the point, he's creating jobs in India, he should be hailed a saint!

I wonder why he picked India... the real scandal is probably how little they were paid

It's fine :)

Having watched the video I feel the crux of the problem is that he paid them to do it. If it was a random video he had found online it wouldn't be a problem (or not as big of a problem). He dun goofed, for sure.

You just said it yourself, it's definitely the amount of people and intent.

Would you actually care to stop for a second and believe that people like this actually exist? Some people think that jokes are just jokes, but aren't racists nor the anti-christ. Not everyone lives in this internet bubble.

He did other videos with anti-Semitic views within a month.

8 other times in fact.

Nope, that's not the case.

It's much easier to defend something you've been into than to admit something you've been into was wrong.

It's like some people like you take joy in all of this, in being "in the right". It's very bizarre.
