I'm honoredEvery time the Switch HW Speculation Thread changes to a new thread, we get a new bunch of people coming in with these posts. I literally just resort to skimming this thread looking for any of these avatars:
I honestly doubt either scenarios (pascal or die shrink) but I still think the Foxconn leak has a lot of legitimacy to it at this point. I don't think it's gospel though.

Then the "F" in K4F means "FP" or "FPM" which translates to a variety of RAM called Fast Page Memory RAM.

If this is accurate, I think the two modules have different codes.
I'm not 100% sure if it's viable for both modules to be FPRAM or not. Still decoding!

I'm talking out of my ass here, but I don't think they'd be manufacturing final hardware in July for a March release, so I'm going to say this was for the devkits that everyone had info about in July.

The Foxconn Leaked clock speeds make no sense unless you have a die shrink. The battery life would be hot garbage.
Nvidia manufactured the new Shield's SoC in July, so it's not that far fetched.

In any case, just the notion that someone is going to split hairs over L/J just seems so ludicrous. "Why would those people of other origin use a Latin characters to describe something?"
Just the notion that people from other countries would most likely be ignorant of anything English related, considering it's the world's lingua franca and the language that has dominated global media/business for God knows how long, it struck me as a somewhat remarkable statement. This specific point isn't really related to videogame opinions, it's the typical passive assumption that people outside the west are unga bunga mud hut people with zero knowledge of the world outside their assumed 3rd world boondock.

Maybe that's what Emily Rogers meant (or whatever she took from her sources) in October that the july dev kits(as in manufactured in July) would be final retail, and it would come with 4GB of RAM.

I had a very simple question that was related to writing and the way people who use different writing think. There was no mean thought about Chinese people about it. Just a curiosity. The question was answered. I moved forward (while apologising for the derail).

Looks like Switch is a pretty great box in specs but what I find more interesting is the 4k dock. I absolutely believe the foxconn leak. The guy was guessing the cpus and stuff so who knows whats really in there but the 4g version and super dock is interssting from a business standpoint.
This leak was from November (correct me if Im wrong on this) and the leak mentioned 2000 units of the super dock!/switch were being manufactured. That means that devs should already have it in their hands (or maybe only Nintendo devs for now). We should see this thing revealed by early next year

A logical explanation is that in handheld mode, the GPU has a variable clock but it's topping it's capability in docked mode.
Not all diagnostic stuff such as software report some elements correctly. However none of the clock speeds of GFLOP amounts are beyond what Tegra could do.
Interesting that the test failed on double precision test.
I hereby jump from #TeamFoxconn to #TeamBaidu. 800 GFLOPS/FP32 when docked ahoy!More logical would be the fact that its nonsense with random numbers thrown at it, haha.

That's single precision not the double precision that we normally use for rating stuff. For example a ps4 in single precision would rate about 3.6 Tflops.
Tegra is rated as 1Tflop in single precision. Half that and you get 512 GFlop which would be it's double precision number.
YEP! Also, curiously, the clocks mentioned in the leak with 16nm and A72s would match the power draw of the Eurogamer clocks with 20 nm and A57s.

PS4 doesn't have double speed for single precision, though PS4 Pro does.

No, double precision means FP64, and single precision means FP32.
You're confusing FP16 (half precision) and FP32 (single precision)
Yeah sorry my mistake. Still if was applied to half precision in that picture then it would be accurate. So I'm now on the bollocks bus. There's no way the much hits 870Gflop in single precision. Half precision very possibly.

The Gflops number only makes sense if it refers to half precision (got it right this time) and not single precision (which the pictures says it is). Basically it's either the software reporting things wrong (could be as that does happen) or it's a load of old bollocks (most likely).
