There might be a single DLC character slot, that you use to access the additional characters. I'm pretty sure that Mortal Kombat 9 did something similar.
Yeah, what happened was you went to a character at the bottom of the screen and the others would open up. It was pretty ugly.

I don't know about ugly. I mean, I'd argue it'd be far uglier to compress the character select screen to fit nine additional characters. What happens if NRS do another season after the first? A single DLC slot is a more elegant solution, unless the character boxes are reduced in size while still retaining obvious visual identifiers.

Exactly. Hiding DLC characters like in MK9 would be fucking ugly. I want to see all characters and the roster visible becoming bigger.
Also they could easily fit 4 characters on each site above the slots and replace the random with the 9th.

Did you see something new giving the idea more weight? I still think Freeze will be a Premier Skin.
What makes you say that? Aside from what Zero saw (I.E. no separate Mr. Freeze, but the other 28 characters + Darkseid), we don't have any new hints or rumors pointing in either direction.

They did. That trailer is the only time I've ever known WW to do a move like that. The Shield thing has been done a few times by other characters, so I didn't connect it to the movie until I stopped laughing at it's walk animation.
Anywho, both characters look fun. WW's trait seems like it would be annoying, but I liked it the more I thought about it.

Well the walking shield move is a gear ability, and so far most of them look jank.
Which is kinda to be expected as they are not really that important.
But from the way they talk about the characters, it seems like different groups of people work on different characters, so some look better then others.

Holy shit!
The spots add up perfect considering that Darkseid is probably the bottom random. Either that or there's one unleaked villain which would be strange that it's ONE character that hasn't leaked

There's the 19 already announced characters, plus Green Lantern who hasn't been 'officially' unveiled, plus Joker, Scarecrow, Dr. Fate, Green Arrow, Firestorm, Cyborg, Black Adam and Captain Cold from the leak.
That's 28 characters.
Also consider that Darkseid is DLC, & him plus the other 9 DLC characters would make an even 10 DLC characters. I think the MKX roster did something similar (an even-numbered base roster before you count Goro).
The 4chan leak made no distinction between unique characters & Premier Skins. For reference, it listed Power Girl, Reverse Flash, & John Stewart by themselves.
Yeah I just realised this too. I'm really happy they fixed his face, his old one really looked bad.

It'll be weird if Mr. Freeze is the only character skin included in the base game. Hopefully there's more.
I feel like there will be a few, they need unlockable stuff, their previous games had that too and i dont think art is enough and since there are no real alt. costumes, Premier Skins could be the "premium" unlocks next to music and concept art
Man, if there's no mode where we can use the abilities without gear stats then that's a lot of development time gone to waste IMO lol. That's a whole chunk of gameplay that you'll never see in tournaments, and I argue that tournaments themselves are good promotion for the game.

Yeah i would expect a proper IGN trailer later for Cyborg today.
Cyborg is just the most meh character ever. His existence for being prominent in the Justice League is literally because he is black.

If you leave out Darkseid (DLC), Power Girl (Premier Skin), Reverse Flash (Premier Skin), John Stewart (Premier Skin), & Mr. Freeze (likely Premier Skin), you'd have 28 characters in the base roster. Adding in Darkseid brings that number up to 29, which will later be made 38 when you factor in the upcoming 9 DLC characters.
