Nintendo Switch Previews are coming in

I've already learned the harsh reality of what happens when I own too many games (Luv you steam) so only having Zelda for awhile is not a bad deal for me. I could get the switch later but $300 now or a few months down the road is not going to change anything.

Wonder how many people will have it out during PAX East.

When I'm excited for Zelda and the harsh reality of your post sets in. I can wait for eight days, but that means... I have to wait for eight days!

I can actually wait eight days though. :P

It's been a loooooong road, so 8 days is nothing in comparison. :)

Yeah I don't remember ever being hyped as much as I was when I first went to my friend's house and saw his launch day N64 (that rich bastard) with Mario 64 on his giant CRT TV...

The Wii U kinda proves that quality matters far more than quantity for a console launch. Or perhaps it proves that the release schedule following launch is far more important than the launch day releases...

It proves that if you want to sell a follow-up to your best-selling console, you had better put a fucking 2 in the name.

Probably will just hold off until reviews and long-form video can be published without sizeable restrictions. This kind of preview coverage isn't normally their style.

They will probably do a launch day stream with for hardware anyways.

Makes a lot of sense. Just wierd to pass up on all the clicks but they know the business better than me

Who's making the Zelda Preview Thread? Has that been chosen yet? I'm willing to make it; just not the spoiler thread because, knowing me, I'd accidentally click on it to see how my thread's going.

good thing i have a wii u

I don't think anyone's gonna deny that the hardware itself is really good, which is what DF goes into.

But we know Nintendo makes great software. It's the last few generations of hardware that have been a little bit iffy. DF and other outlets praising the Switch hardware is a great sign.

Fuck me

I can't take it

I can take it as I still have my Wii U and will play Zelda their most likely (Horizon and ME: A first for me though). I need a lot more "my god!" games to buy into Switch at current prices as someone not interested in portables or the joycon waggle stuff. It's Nintendo, and they're unifying development, so it will almost definitely get there. I've just been burned too many times buying shit at launch and having it gather dust for long stretches when I could have waited and bought when there were more games and good sales/bundles/price drop etc.

I'm a bit surprised they aren't letting press update their Switch's software to the latest version for these previews of the UI. I feel like any little quirks or issues are most likely fixed and perhaps issues with the Joycon connectivity might even be resolved already unless it is a limited hardware issue. One week to go!

Yep, previews tomorrow should be pretty telling on how outlets feel about the final product.

I agree with this. I had zero issues whatsoever with the N64 launch. I'll take an all-time classic over 15 "decent" games any day.

Correct. N64 is one of the greatest launches of all time.
