Nintendo Switch Previews are coming in

I'll likely have to wait until I head home next then (don't know when exactly). Can't even go to a local Starbucks or something because I don't have the patch! Shit sucks, but I guess Zelda can keep me busy for the first week or so.

Can you ask your RA for a temporary connection or something? (is a resident advisor even a thing in college dormrooms? Maybe movies tricked me)

Ocarina of Time was running at 16fps in PAL and 20fps in NTSC, totally unplayable at least for me so I certainly hope BOTW is more than just a tad better! :/

It's been said for a while and even confirmed recently that the retail version runs better then what is being demoed at events. Even the issues the retail version might have seem like they're limited to the starting area based on some comments.

I'll see if I can ask someone, but I doubt it since the uni uses a third-party thing to take care of its internet.

EDIT: Of course it could support WPA-2 Enterprise but we just don't know it yet since nobody's tested it. It's not unprecedented considering they've also included other much-wanted settings such as full RGB range this time around, that and they have shown it being used in work & university settings (though this doesn't really say much).

Wish we had someone finding this stuff out.

Has Nintendo still not released a statement on the left JoyCon connection issues?
I would have to guess they're preparing a planned statement and plan of action by next week. Corporate response between international sectors just before he weekend is less quick than a dev member responding to a bug.

It felt like 25 fps with fluctuation up and down, possibly some input lag - or maybe resulting in input lag. Baring in mind I only had 10 minutes with it. When I played it in portable mode, it was a tad better I think.

While it looked good (especially in portable mode, but not bad in TV mode either - I was super close to the TV) it was annoying, especially when I attacked.

The grass looks good, seems to fade in well, the enemies were cool and I can tell there was a fair bit going on mechanically...but as someone sensitive to fps and input, it bugged me.

People have replied a few times to say that there are reports of the final version being better than the preview build I played at the event, so there's hope if you're picky about that stuff too.

Damn, all thse neon switch previews

I like the joycon d-pad, they're not all that bad. I was skeptical. But I even preferred it to the Pro controller I tried, which was extremely stiff, but the pro controller itself was fantastic to hold (I felt it was better than X1 ergonomically - not the d-pad though).

The buttons on the joycon are close together and small so it's not quite rocking back and forth but not too far off to change buttons, and they were nice and soft but still a decent bit of resistance.

I wonder when Nintendo is going to level those with preview units access to the update. Anyone in the know if Nintendo has said anything on that front to them? Assuming you can even comment on it.

I hope soon-ish so we can get reviews/previews of some of the downloadable games. Snipperclips, Specter of Torment, Fast RMX, etc.

I must be one of the few ones who liked the Gray Joy-Cons more from the start and still does here, I never think of gray as a lifeless color, on the contrary I think it makes colors from games pop even more, they go hand in hand.

Does anyone have any idea where I could get a Pro controller for launch? I have a grey Switch and Zelda on pre order but didn't catch one for a controller in time.

So uh, no locking up issues yet like the Wii U had at launch? Though I dunno if those issues showed up in pre-release hands on.

Yeah, I'd like to know about that. Or at least if reviewers here remember when the day one update was rolled out for Wii U review units.

Ok, Austin Walker was saying this before and now GiantBomb confirmed it. Media people have 1-2-Switch. Prepare for gif of babies. I repeat. Media people have 1-2-Switch. Prepare for gif of babies.

I didn't want to make a new thread, but...

Has anything been said about when we should see the Switch ports of Minecraft and Stardew Valley? These two games are games my daughter wants super bad.

Nothing yet but considering we've just had three launch games dated this week they're hopefully not too far off. Especially Minecraft.
