-=-=->S P O I L E R S<-=-=- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Spoiler Thread

I feel like we can assume at this point this takes place during the timeline of the hero is defeated. As far as placement I am torn whether before ALttP or after Adventure of Link.

Braving this thread because I'm just that desperate to find out, but is rod fishing possible, or is it only by hand, bomb etc...? Thanks in advance.

How is the story seeming? Contrary to what seems like the popular opinion here, I love the Zelda stories and timeline connections and all that jazz. The more like TP and SS in terms of story, the better to me. I'm not a big fan of, "the story is what you make of it" types of games. I want cutscenes and characters and shit.

I was really worried, but the more recent trailer assuaged my worries somewhat. Is it sparse or actually relatively engaging?

I don't get Nintendo's aversion from putting in Darknuts in the recent Zeldas. Not having them in SS was bad enough considering how perfectly suited they would be for the motion controls, and now they're not in BotW. There as classic as they come for Zelda enemies, and would provide a hearty challenge in BotW's new focus on difficulty.

And no redeads either. Damn it.

Someone from ign said she was really enjoying the story, previews aren't allowed to talk details yet but so far people seem to be enjoying it overall from what it seems.

what scenes have you watched with voice? the start and the king?

Yeah just watched the King cutscene. His voice is alright but the exposition dump rythm didn't help. And Zelda... it was just two lines but that wasn't very good.

Do we know if it gets better? I'm not watching spoilers apart from that.

Destructoid said that he like the voice acting, and gamexplain had the same sentiment. The starting cutscene of zelda waking up link is good. The old man is a little iffy, but nothing horrible.

Yeah, I'm kind of fuming at no darknuts to be honest.

Eh, gamexplain tends to be gigantic apologists for Nintendo's localization decisions. I wouldn't put much stock in their opinions on the issue.

The only problem I have with the old man's voice is that it sounds like a younger actor doing an old man voice. The acting itself seemed fine to me overall though. I think Zelda sounds fine too from the little I've heard.

I think the flow was weird. Like you've been living alone on this Plateau for a while, total silence, and all of a sudden boom 300 words per minute. It all happens so fast, he just casually tells you he's the King and then dumps all the story.

They should have taken their time, let the cutscene breathe I guess. It felt a bit off.

You say this but I dunno about that being their actual intention. Saw the streamer go to the cold area totally unprepared, died from cold 2 times but it literally didn't matter when the game respawns him like 5 seconds ago from where he died, so it's like what's the point of even bothering to heal or keep warm.

Tbh to me they are just giving a sense of fake difficulty by having the Gameover screen appear more but with absolutely no punishment.

What if it's actually an old guy playing the voice?

No Darknuts,

No Like Likes which is a missed opportunity for the item mechanics.

No Deku Babas which were in every other 3D Zelda game.

No Tektites

No Gohmas

No Poe's

Kind of weird seeing them absent. Do you think it's because programming enemies in an open world is more complicated? Didn't Witcher 3 have a lot of enemy types?
