What's the rebuttal to this?

If sessions is gone us minorities can breathe again. Trump can't put in anyone worse because his credibility is shot.

Btw it's just hilarious that Trump dragged Sessions into this shit, glorious. They're all so corrupt including the entire GOP.

He appears to be the only one on the Armed Services Committee who had a meeting with Russia, and if you look at his testimony, it's pretty clear he was hiding this information.

We have a president and his campaign under investigation, and the person asked to prosecute is telling lies, or at the very least misleading greatly, about the very basis of the investigation. The time to come clean about meetings with Russians was when he was asked under oath about meeting Russians.

Rubio appears completely willing to go after Trump and is openly questioning Sessions.

This is a golden opportunity for sane Republicans to take their party back, they won't get another chance if they don't take it now.

And I called Sessions having a good chance of being the smoking gun connection between Trump and Russia. I sincerely hope the IC has some hard evidence of dealings between them.

The problem I have with this is that it'll never come back to trump since he's a patsy in all of this. And since there's no vote tampering, they can't touch him.

From the UK here so don't really understand the US system. How is this guy not getting done for perjury?

And why on earth aren't the democrats really going for the jugular after all this sleaze keeps coming out?

Repubs care nothing about the law or what is fair or who controls who. They only care they are in power.

Look at the questionnaire response from Leahy. Sessions clearly says no to any communication with Russia. This parsing about his role is total obfuscation:
e. Several of the President-Elect's nominees or senior advisers have Russian ties. Have you been in contact with anyone connected to any part of the Russian government about the 2016 election, either before or after election day?
RESPONSE: No.
The sickening part of this is I have absolute zero faith in most Republicans caring or wanting to do anything about this. Even worse most of them will probably run for re-election with anti-Trump ads.

GOP is seriously a disgrace.

Also he submitted an even more emphatic "no" in writing... Per Washington Post:

In January, Sen. Patrick J. Leahy (D-Vt.) asked Sessions for answers to written questions. “Several of the President-elect’s nominees or senior advisers have Russian ties. Have you been in contact with anyone connected to any part of the Russian government about the 2016 election, either before or after election day?” Leahy wrote.

Sessions responded with one word: “No.”

It's kind of hilarious to me that Sessions had all the shit against him and still got confirmed and then it's some talks with Russia and lying about it that possibly gets him. Fuck should have never had the job.

Yes. Jason Chaffetz never said shit about Flynn and just reacted to that controversy by targeting the leakers.

If he of all people have changed tune this is already way bigger than Flynn.

And I doubt it stops with Flynn and Sessions as well. There's going to be more and more until Trump and everyone else in his cabinet is done.

Also, what possible business interests could Russia have in Alabama? I'm struggling to come up with something that could serve as possible cover.

Is it safe to speculate now that these otherwise insane appointees are because of their Russian ties?

Surely some of them are appointed, as Bannon explicitly said, not because they are directly tied to Russians but rather because they are intended to dismantle their given department of the government. DeVos and Pruitt would be good examples of this, I think.

By weakening the government, including intelligence agencies, we are definitely more susceptible to Russian influence, though.

Why do I feel more people will resign from Trump's cabinet because they have connections to Russia?

This is becoming a problem.. a disturbing problem.

The pattern is incredible. Unbelievable, if this doesn't set off a massive outrage against the entire administration then I don't know what fucking will.

Maybe for a few months because I imagine Giuliani will be next in line.
