Bond films? Nah they reset with every actor. And every MCU movie? Isn't that kind of the point of being a fan of the films? Like why watch them at all if you aren't going to pay attention to the overarching plot and story. And the MCU TV-Shows are not necessary at all.

Wasn't there a statistic that most people who go see a Marvel movie are new watchers and haven't seen every other Marvel movie? I just think it's a bit much to expect that of audiences. A good film should be able to stand and enjoyed on its own.

I think they didn't cut very much of Hacksaw Ridge, but it seems they did cut the church scene in Kingsman. It says they only cut 6 minutes for Kingsman though. They cut 37-38 minutes out of Cloud Atlas.
That's the best Sunday drop in the top....*scrolls*....20 or so. Same for the Monday drop.
Legs are going to be pretty great despite the competition next week, I think. Richly deserved success.
If the point is to watch them all, their box office performances wouldn't be much different from movie to movie, but that is not the case.

I'm sitting down for Logan now at the only IMAX cinema in Sweden and it's pretty much filled with students and others on a break. Will be interesting to see the WW numbers later.

Echoing what other people have said, it is great to see a top 3 filled with quality movies. I enjoyed each of them. Get Out's success surprises me but it's completely deserved. Peele is a great writer and director and it's cool to see him branch out and succeed.

Budget for Infinity War and sequel is 1 billion(500 million each filmed back to back).

I mean it's not an exact science, but don't need a stat to show that Civil War did over a billion dollars in tickets and Doctor Strange did about half of that to know not everyone watches these... at least no in theaters.

Boxoffice.com is predicting $86M for Logan's Domestic opening. The trades (Deadline, Variety, Hollywood Reporter) are reporting $65-70M for official studio estimates and tracking.
Variety is reporting a $97M budget for Logan. That's even lower than we heard previously, but might make more sense in light of Jackman taking a reported wage cut.

Anything over $70M OW gives Logan a shot at $200M domestic with good for a comic film legs. It would be funny if Logan manages to hit $236M+, and the two top grossing X-Films in the US/Canada are R-rated spin-offs
If Logan hits $80M domestic, and $45M in China, I think that it will be in a good position to make $200M WW this weekend.

Is the running time of nearly 2 hours 20 minutes going to limit the number of overall showings? That's the one thing I can think of to hold back Logan this weekend. The per theater average is going to be high.
