The only shrines that I've found that have been "too difficult" are the "Major" battle shrines, and those are incredibly out of the way.

Well I ended up at a "moderate test of strength" and I have four hearts and it was nuts.
My 12 weapon was doing no damage and every hit was a one shot. I managed anyway to get it down to a sliver of health but then the thing started zapping me from a distance and it was impossible to get close to it without being one shot by the zap.

It's a bit shit that you have to install the parental control app to track time played. Just did it now, which means I missed all of yesterdays tracking.

Also, can you choose to not pick something up? If I see a shitty weapon once I've clicked on it, is there no way to cancel the pickup?

Yes, this was asked before, it's apparently save to just ignore her hesitation and push her for more information?
Can someone confirm?
She just gives you waypoints of four new quests. Honestly, it'd have been more fun to go blind and discover these locations on your own.

This game is just so good. Like my god. It's just addictive and there is always a bunch of things to see on the way to your planned goal and then you get distracted by a ton more after that. Even stuff as simple as a Korok under a rock on a mountain's peak. It's just such a nice thing, a little puzzle like thing while also being a vantage point to finding the next dozen things to do or look at.

Like, I stayed up all night playing it and then when it was morning and I thought "oh shit... Maybe I should go to sleep for a few hours?" I ended up playing for like 5 more hours.

How do I increase my inventory for weapons and other items?

Might as well spoiler it for the super spoiler averse:

On the road up to Kakariko Village from the Dueling Peaks, you'll see a large Korok by the side of the road. He'll give you a quest to go fight the Bokoblins just past where he's standing and get his maracas back. Once you give them to him, he'll offer to upgrade your inventory in exchange for Korok Seeds. The first upgrade costs one seed, the second one costs two, and you'll have to choose between Weapons, Shields, or Bows. After two upgrades he'll tell you he's moving back to his home and give you directions to come find him.

And yeah inventory management is pretty awful. I always seem to accidentally click L/R which doesn't scroll pages of your inventory. I guess I'm too used to OoT.

Beat the WiiU version, 30 hours, 32 shrines,
4 beasts and Ganon
. Failed to
pull out the Master sword
. Also
I got Epona
from Amiibo.

What a game... Now I can unbox my Switch and try to 100% the game. :)

I just raised a water block and jumped in lol
Haha, what the fuck??

I climbed all the way up the giant pole on the other side of the river, then paraglided into the entrance from up there. XD

I always forget about the Sheikah Slate abilities, this will be the death of me.

I love this game.

The deaths in this game are brutal and realistic. I winced a little for Link. I've died so many times already. More than any other Zelda game. I've also fell off some cliffs by accident a few times...I laugh so hard when that happens. I really have to think "this is real life".

I'm in love with this game...

btw, how the save files work? Is there only 1? I don't get the system

Seems to be only one, but there are multiple autosave files as well.

You can basically have multiple save files if you have different switch accounts on your system.

I've never played an open world game that pulled off environmental scale and detail this well. There's so much character just roaming from one place to the next.

Where's Korok forest? I've got some seeds to spend.

North of Hyrule Castle. Bring a torch.

Also the seed trader doesn't move to the forest directly from where you first meet him,
you'll find him near a stable that's along the road leading to the forest
.

Is there anything that is explicitly vendor trash - nothing to use it for, so sell it for cash? I'm strapped for cash and looking at some ore and wondering if I'll regret selling it.

Haha :D what a game!

I first tried to cut the spikes but it didn't work, so then I was like let me raise an ice platform!

i wish they wouldve used the wiiu screen for inventory and map like wind waker
It's kind of cheap what Nintendo did with the second screen this time around. I know this is to give the Switch version the upper hand but god at least let me type my horse's name on the touch screen.

At least gyro controls are in. So I'm good.

A tip for you problem:
You can actually dodge the shots. When you see him chanelling his laser you should have plenty of time to walk to him and hit him a few more times. Managed to do it with 4 hearts also.

Those shrines on Duelling Peaks! So many trips back and forth. Forgot to take a photo with my phone, didn't get the hidden chest in one of them, ran out of stamina and died climbing Like 3 times. Took around 2 hours all up!

How do I cook? I found a pot, lit a fire underneath it, but I only get the option to sit by it and let time pass

go into the menu, select an item and use "hold" add all the items you want to cook together into your hands and throw them into the pot.

Has anyone figured out what to do for The Serpent's Jaws quest?

I found the area Kass was talking about, and
the statue of the goddess says to bring her Farosh's Scale.
Is that it though? Just leave and come back whenever I find out what that is?

I have spent my time in this game 100% lost from the beginning. I'm supposed to find
Impa in Kakariko Village
, but I just get roaming and am so far off that path. I haven't even activated the tower for the part of the map I'm in, nor do I know where it is, so I don't even have the map to help me!

Zelda has been crazy good so far. Haven't played a game like this since Pokemon lol

Think I spent half the day yesterday just climbing random mountains exploring.

Yeah, I'm amazed. The world isn't empty at all. Open-world perfection...I'm starting to agree. Honestly, I don't see any flaws in this game so far (Handheld mode is literally perfect). I'm waiting a bit before calling it a masterpiece, and it's almost guaranteed.
BTW, is it me or it's raining more in Kakariko's region. Feels like every region as it's subtle climate. The game has so many little details, it's impossible to talk about all of them.
Earlier today, I laughed as I left an apple as an offrand in front of a statue and my horse went to eat it lol. Blasphemy! :) There's so much systems at play here that you're constantly surprised.

Yeah the dueling peakes is probably my favorite area so far. They were an absolute joy to explore.

Should I have noticed these frame drops by the time I leave the plateau? Because I'm just about to (docked on switch).

If so I guess I can't really perceive them. I suspect this is a bad thing. :/

There's a shrine out on a little island in a small lake on the way up to the Zoras that I don't know how to get into. It is near one of the Zoras that tells you to keep going north. The south bank has a big pillar with a chest on top of it. Hopefully that is enough of a hint as to what I'm talking about since I don't have the game open for more specific directions.

The shrine is on a hill on the island and completely surrounded by thorns. I tried gliding from the pillar across the water, but there's nowhere near enough height from there. There doesn't seem to be anything on the island I could burn or use runes on to get over the thorns. Am I supposed to climb the nearby mountain and do a long glide onto the entrance?

Thanks, I've already traded with him before he ran off.

EDIT: if torch is for cold then I've got extra cold clothing from
the bird people

Thanks. I decided it wasn't worth it to spend 10 minutes to get him down to low health just for a chance at practicing dodging the attack pattern.
