Anyone having any issues where Link will keep walking despite the analog sticks not being depressed? It's happened to me with the Wii U game pad and the pro controller.

it might be a zeroing issue.

turn your controller off. turn it back on. make sure nothing is touching the analog sticks - they need to be completely neutral when they sync.

Not sure I understand the value of the horse when I can't fast travel with it or summon it wherever I am. Is there a better way to manage your horses?

The best way is to find more stables, at the beginning of yesterday I couldnt find another stable to save my life, now im finding them left and right, not the best fast travel for your horse, but the closer the stable is to you, the better it is.

Trying to figure this out too. Gliding off the endpoint isn't working..

If it's the one I had trouble with you just have to go for it. You can reach it from the final fan/wind thing, it's just hard. Follow the current then make a sharp turn to the ledge.

I found the minor major and moderate combat shrines and I can't do any of them haha. Either I suck or my gear is just shit tier. I've fully done 13 shrines so I've found 16 including the combat ones.

12 hours Friday and 6 hours today I've played. Holy shit.

I wouldn't mind so much if the shrines weren't so uniform. It just feels like they were being too cheap or crunched for time to actually design them properly. It also sucks that they place some right next to stables. Just clashes with how organic and seamless everything else is. The puzzle quality is great so it isn't a deal breaker just a huge missed opportunity is all
Eh, the design of the shrines is not lacking quality, they share the same aesthetic but the puzzle designs are top notch. Also they are near stables sometimes because they are convenient fast travel spots as well as shrine challenges. It makes sense in the world given that until Link woke up, those shrines were just abandoned ruins dotting the landscape and were inaccessible. Why not build a stable by one, it's just some old ruins.

Oh huh I tried that a few times and couldn't stick it, I figured I was just screwing up. Thanks!

Regarding Korok Seeds:

I can't find the guy that provide me more slots, the big maraccas korok. I thought he would be in Forest of Spirits (plaetu) after you meet hem the first time, but nooooo.

Somebody?

He mentions following Hylia river north to a forest the first time you speak to him. If you follow those directions, just remember to be very careful and prepare.

The voice acting so far is... ho-hum. Characters feel like they're really rushing their lines. Treehouse should've done a bit more re-writing to not make them sound jammed together.

I need to find out if it's okay to sell
Amber and Sapphires

So far...9/10. Might go higher. The story's interesting, delivered in an interesting way so far. I've got a decent idea where it's going, I believe.

When you're a beginner who has low stamina, you can only tame horses that have spots on them, an npc at stable explain that to you.
Also, depending of its personality it will be easy or not to manipulate but don't expect it to turn 90° degree when you want it to turn.

In addition, if you want a one-color horse early, you can also cheese it by eating a couple stamina-replenishing items before it bucks you off. I think I replenished the bar twice and that was barely enough to get it to settle down.

Don't know if there's another way to do it without stamina upgrades.

So I've heard a lot of people say the game is much easier than expected, is this true? Or are there difficulty settings and I'm just not aware? Just wondering. Game looks amaze-balls.

its different for every person, but for the most part i'd say its bullshit, I think the strongest point of this is that there is practically no i-frames when link dodges, or if there is, its incredibly tight timing

This is probably one of the most comfy games I've ever played. Turn your lights off, play with a high volume, turn the HUD info off, and just go on and explore.

I've spent quite some time just trying to domesticate a wild blue horse I've found.

HUD in Pro mode is a MUST. I can't go back. Helps me focus on the world instead of the map.

Just when I was wondering when I was going to get a horse, I decided to see what my old Link amiibo would do... bam, got Epona. I'm feeling a LOT better about the early game pacing now.

So you just ate a bunch of stuff? Didn't even have a torch with you?

yup

if you watch the speedrun where the guy beats the game in 1 hour and 24 minutes, it's very similar to what I did. just enter the "cold part" at the right time, close enough to the shrine, and if you move quick enough and have enough healing items, you can reach the shrine.

So, trying to put hype aside, how are you guys feeling about the game so far? Is it looking like it deserves all the praise it's getting from the press?

Someone here was able to tame a horse by giving it apples, dunmo i it was one colored one or not but that was a nice little story. He made a trail of apple and the horse kept eating then finally came toward him.

Has anyone been able to befriend a fox by any chance? I'm chasing one around holding raw meat in my hands but he's not interested. :(

I wonder if there's anything they can do
besides be eaten

I'm loving it. If the quality keeps up over the whole game then it will dethrone MM as my favorite Zelda.

Links insistence on crouching during combat is really getting to me. I wish they would disable sneak if you're spotted by enemies.

I'm not a Zelda fan and I'm enjoying it. I don't know about the 10/10 and stuff but it feels like it's a really good game.

Lol - I just learned a valuable lesson when talking about BotW. Everyone does everything differently.

You're supposed to make the recipe in the Old Man's diary and he will give you the doublet.

Eveyone talks about a hut and the old man's diary, I just took the spicy peppers I believed I cooked them and at a couple until i got to a mountain that spirals to a large boulder up top where the old man appears, and he gave me the warm doublet.

:lol

I found an island in the middle of the ocean, I flew there and now all my gear got removed in some crazy Robinson crusoe style challenge

This part with Ruta
the elephant
is the shittiest in the game by far,its not hard but very annoying, with unstable framerate and i had to let the ice cubes hit me to be on the correct side for the final arrow after many tries but not sure why :/

This is the first OT about a game where everyone is talking about something diferent.

How to get horses? How to go snowboarding?
How to cook? How to fiz broken weapons.. how to how to how to

HOW TO!

People should create something at the original post about basic stuff. It seems everyone is playing a diferent game. Man, can`t wait to buy this game next month...

When it begin to walk, you only need to choose direction with your stick and you don't need to keep pressing the stick. It will move auto in the direction you choosen.
Stay on road if you want semi-auto pilot.

Edit: sorry for my bad english

Thanks! I didnt know stamina was required to tame horses. I guess I shouldn't just skip conversations so quickly :P

I got a fast one with a wild temperament. Its been uh, quite a struggle so far.

I actually went to the store to buy Horizon. But I saw a few Switch consoles there, which I didn't expect. I really wanted to get one since Zelda is one of my favorite franchises. But yeah, can't ignore the hw issues, so I had to skip it for now. That's the only reason why I skipped.

Don't own a Wii U anymore.

I really hope Nintendo fixes the hw issues just before summer. Because that's when I want to buy a Switch. After the crazy Q1 has ended.
If its any consolation, Ive had zero hardware issues with my switch, it continues to work like a charm and the vast majority of the time ive played with the joycons unattached to anything

Beat the final boss after 59 hours.

All I can say is that this game set new standards for the industry, really, I don't see any open world game that can get close to that. It's polished at a rarely seen level, the gameplay is fantastic and used brillantly by the overworld which is probably the best openworld ever seen in a video game in term of level design. To be honest, it's probably a top 5 game in terms of level design. The world is charming, the sound design is amazing, quests are fun, shrines are cool, characters can be great and even the story was not underwhelming unlike most of zelda games.

It has a lot of flaws but what this game pulled is so incredible, so fantastic, I'm just going to ignore that because even with these flaws, it will be probably a game of a caliber I'll never see until the next decade.

btw the game said I only beat 19.85% of the game

That flurry rush mechanic gives you massive i-frames combined with slowdown and it isn't hard to get those to activate when you can be slightly outside the enemy's attack range so you are never really in any danger then do a backflip and it activates.

Literally just died there, one shotted by some massive guy. Marked it for later.

I love this game.
