Okay where the eff is Safula Hill.

I really want this white horse they're talking about but I got the map of Central Hyrule and I can't find any region labeled Safula Hill.

It's driving me nuts. Help.

Follow the road from the stable to the north west.

Anyone done the Daka Truss shrine?
You scoop balls out of the water with a metal bowl

Favourite one so far. They're so small but so fun. I love this style, so much that I don't even miss big dungeons.

Got my Switch on Friday and can't stop playing Zelda. Damn that game is incredible!
The world, the environmental sounds, the music, the art direction and that awesome gameplay...just incredible. One of the best games I played in years.

Had a hysterical surprise in combat with the bombs. I was up against one too many bobokins or whatever they are so I was trying to run, drop a bomb and detonate it after they ran past. All going well until the blue one kicked the bomb right back at me. I was in such a rhythm that I detonated it and killed my self.

A+ AI behavior

Why do I randomly get a different (better1?) sound effect/animation when cooking.
Is it a random procc and the meal gets more +stats or is it the first meal of that kind that gets those +stats??

Holy shit got to the Floret shrine.

LMAO at the dialogue and eventual conclusion to a certain action or actions.

The world is so beyond any other open world game I've ever played.

That's definitely one element I don't think Nintendo are getting enough credit for. I've seen Bokoblins hunting wildlife in forests then taking the meat back to their fireplaces to cook it. It's clear the extra time Nintendo had to work on the game while the Switch was being prepared has paid off in dividends.

This game is gonna win sooo many awards in December.

the big problem with the ai is that it's useless if it doesn't have direct visual contact.. you can bomb them from behind a rock for half an hour and they will just stand there doing nothing, or running in circle waiting for the next one. they should have given them some way to localise from where the attacks come.

I'm really not enjoying this game. It's the last thing I want from Zelda. I end up wandering around for hours not knowing what exactly to do and stumbling off in a direction with monsters that kill me in 1 shot, rinse and repeat. It feels like this game is just wasting my time.

Then there's the weapon durability system that's infuriating. Ooh I found a nice weapon upgrade! Too bad it means I'll inevitably end up wasting it on trash mobs b/c the inventory is tiny and I'll inevitably end up having to use it just for space.

Or like how my torch broke and I've been searching for 2 hours for a new torch. Why can't I just buy one at a General Store?

Ugh, frustration and waste of time: the game. Possibly worst Zelda in a decade.

Torches are generally found near cooking pots and bokoblins may hold them.

If you don't think like a survivor you're not gonna last long.

I wont be getting this game for a while as I'm currently tied up with other things. But is this game comparable to the Witcher 3 in terms of variety and scope?

Yes its probably more dense and packed with interesting stuff to do even than the witcher 3. Its the variety that stands out in an open world like this.

Guys, how do you perform the slowmo attack move with the bow? The move where Link jumps in the air and it activates slowmo for the bow. Do we get this at some point?

The game isn't bad because the person playing it is inherently lazy

jump out of the horse with the bow equipped I think.. I did it one time when I just wanted to get down from the horse

cant wait for then to patch in capturing video for things like that.

Yeah, breath of the Wild has greater gameplay scope, Witcher 3 more story and voice acting

I think it's like getting a critical hit. I had a meal do that and it had 5 hearts against it when it should have been 3.

My first born child was born on March 3rd 2017, breath of the wild launch day! Crazy. Posting this one handed while holding him. Game is amazing, played about 90 mins but he's so much more amazing!

Is it blasphemy to buy the guide for this game? I like open world games but always get anxiety that I have missed stuff about ten hours into this game and I can tell I could've missed a lot of the little things had I not been searching I just can't see the game holding me that long playing like this as it's going to take hundreds of hours like this. With the guide I just want to know what I'm missing in the areas I am in the game, it's both the blessing and the curse of the Ubisoft open world blueprint.

I bought the guide but it's still in the plastic wrap.

I'm going to beat the game first without it and then use it to go back and pick up other stuff I missed.

I tried 100%-ing Wind Waker with a guide back in the day while playing through it, and it definitely hurt the experience for me.

Okay so I think I've got about 5 towers left to activate, 2 of the divine beasts sorted
(Goron and Zora ones)

Is there a set of garments that stops you taking heat damage in the desert?
The Death Mountain set didn't help

If ever there was a perfect handheld to play during those sleepless nights, it's this one. Congratulations!

Sneaking into Hyrule Castle (or trying to) as a lowbie is so fucking fun. Got the tower (stressful) and the shrine, and right now I am taking a sec to prepare myself for the actual entry.

This game is the game. Period.

Edit: lol the blood moon is rising right as I attempt this.

There is a secret shop that sells it, you need a password in G
erudo Town
, warning its expensive. Also the
Gerudo set
gives you a small heat resistance.

This game is like crack. Nintendo definitely has a pretty strong understanding of what makes these type of open world games engaging.

Funny enough, like a lot of other games in this vein, the story beats are probably the lowest point. Like, early on tonight I tackled
my first Divine Beast, Vah Ruha in the Zora area.
That whole section taken in isolation does not stack up well to any previous Zelda game I've played. Especially the boss there, which design-wise I think would not have been out of place in something like Darksiders. It didn't feel anything like a Zelda boss, and that isn't really a compliment. It wasn't garbage or anything, but you can tell how significantly the lack of control they have over your progress wound up impacting the boss design.

So far it's felt like a price worth paying, I suppose - I've been much more absorbed in this game than any previous Zelda game except for maybe Majora's Mask.

Why can't I
register a grizzly bear
like a horse? I want it to be my main form of transpiration. :::whines::: I love everyone's reaction to it in the stables though.

Okay..i hope im right about this.

The shrines and what they teach or show is not LOCKED to the location you find them, right?

Say no matter where you find your 5th or 6th shrine the contents are preset. I just did the one that teaches you how to parry and roll...two things i didnt know were in the game...and id be fucking annoyed if the game only tells you that in this specific dungeon.

Pretty sure everything about shrines is location-specific, based on my own experience with combat shrines.
