That thing is a real douche, I killed it while swallowing a donation drive's worth of meals and it wasn't worth the trouble. Nothing about the quests that send you up there require you to fight it if you want to just do what you're there for and leave.
beast with a bone crown. I must mount it on its throne. Hmmm......first thing i'm gonna do tomorrow when i play it again is look for a creature that resembles that. Hopefully that's the right way to start looking for it.
Amazing game so far, it's the little things that keep blowing me away and the climbing mechanic is just superb. Being able to climb pretty much anything is just.....so damn liberating and gives such an amazing sense of freedom. I'm afraid if i were to start playing other open world games now that they'd feel extremely limited.
I hopped over to my nephew's today to show him my Switch version, he has the Wii U version. Honestly, there's really no difference, minus a few FPS hits here and there. Both suffer from this (docked while on Switch).
Just get it, the game is amazing. We were both going over things we've done, and we have both taken completely different paths.
I visited a Shrine surrounded by grass and a ton of spikes and the framerate was awful in docked mode. Terrible to the point where I just started playing in handheld mode.
Been playing since launch and still haven't seen my first dungeon.
I tend to get distracted a lot and just get lost in the world. The deeper I get in, the more it grabs me. Didn't expect it to be a masterpiece on such a level.
I do have a small question. Suddenly I noticed that enemies have their hit points shown underneath them.
Never saw that before. How did this happen and can I turn it off again somehow?

Can we talk about the Zora's for a bit? (story spoilers)
This was the first time that Link's
failure 100 years ago hit me. There were real repercussions. When other races helped you in past Zelda games, the fate of the champion or sage wasn't really an issue. This time you experience the anger and sadness of the Zora's after you "took away" their beloved Princess Mipha and her death resulting from the failed plan to stop Ganon.
I was shocked to see that many
Zora's outright detested him. I'm used to people either not giving a shit about me or knowing who I was and then treating me like some kind of deity. But there were some Zoras that couldn't stand the sight of Link, and were doubly hurt when Link couldn't remember anything about the Zoras or Mipha.
It was also bittersweet
running into many Zoras that Link grew up and played with in their youth, only for him to not remember them. I hate "lost memories" stories precisely because of these kinds of situations.

...the 'combat' AI didn't start which meant that, until I got him down to like 500 health, I could just circle strafe around him and hit him in the ass. Luckily when he did start attacking I managed to get in a good flurry attack and stun to finish him off.
Still though, didn't really feel like I earned that win.
Weapon degradation isn't really a problem. If you have no weapons that are on the level of the area you're in then just kill one monster or steal a weapon from a sleeping one. Boom, you have an appropriate weapon. Use that to kill some more monsters and now you have a full arsenal. Don't get attached to your gear and don't take out trash mobs with your best weapon.
Stand near someone shooting arrows at you, there ya go, all the arrows you ever need
Plus you can retrieve them
I have around 100 arrows most of the time.
I love the weapon system but I could see how it could turn some people off.
Today I played for ten hours. Last time I did this was for Xenoblade Chronicles I think... and I'm enjoying every second of it.
Weapon degradation is the best thing of the game.
Dude. Found an island that (not a story spoiler, just unique challenge I hadn't seen)
turns the game into metal gear 5 subsistence. Takes away your gear, and makes you survive on the island with no armor, weapons, etc. gotta steal from enemies and make do while achieving the goal

It isn't fun though. It just makes the game a chore. Games aren't supposed to punish you for kicking too much ass. I run away from enemies rather than waste my sword on them. That's terrible.
Don't understand the arrow problem. Have hoarded over 100 now. I dont use them all the time but only when the situation calls for it.
Actually for the harder enemies I use bombs a lot. If you time it right (and get the update for
the slate so bombs generate faster
) you can kill enemies entirely with bombs.
By using bombs a lot the weapon breaking isnt a problem. And I use weapons a lot too! You just have to use the proper weapons for the proper enemies. Like the same level more or less. I kill enemies around Zora's Domain just as quick as enemies at the Plateau, by just using stronger weapons. They drop stronger weapons as well. its so perfectly balanced I dont understand the criticism?

yeah that's been the high point of the game for me so far.
starting with meeting Prince Sidon for the first time and then making your way up to Zora's Domain through the conclusion of the dungeon, boss, and return to Zora's Domain.
and of course all of that is heightened by the fact that the game actually makes me feel like I'm on an adventure in a huge world. really personalizes the story for me.
It isn't fun though. It just makes the game a chore. Games aren't supposed to punish you for kicking too much ass. I run away from enemies rather than waste my sword on them. That's terrible.
The weapon system took me a while to get into, but I think it's one of the foundations of why the game works so well. It makes exploration and risk taking always rewarding and exciting. Yes, I'll break some of my already great weapons, but who knows what awesome stuff lies in wait to replace it.
Weapons are really easy to come by, most enemies drop one so if can knock it out of their hands you are good. Arrows are sold in every town and stable and you can just grab missed arrows from enemies.
I like how the game forces me to use an ever rotating supply of weapons, keeps the combat more fresh in my opinion. Sometimes you just have to adapt to unfavorable situations.
Yeah and the replacements I get are almost always trash because most enemies drop nothing good. For the first few hours it's not an issue. When you get to the point you have some battles that are far and away more difficult than the enemies surrounding it, it's a massive problem.

I have the complete opposite issue, I'm about 20 hours in and just did the zora dungeon and I have too many good weapons and have to pass up good stuff just because everything I have is awesome..
My arrows phase right through it and I think I aiming at eyeballs but i think the textures haven't loaded and I can walk through the model. My game is glitching hardcore.
