Do you still drop your weapons because that's the worst part lol
I climbed an entire sheer mountain and when I got to he top an Electric Keese came out of nowhere. I didn't fall off the mountain but both my Knight's Shield and my Guardian's Sword++ fell off the mountain.

On weapons, side quest spoiler for a town near the beginning of the game.

I completed the sidequest where you can buy a house and furnish it. This allows you to store a few weapons and shields.
I like this a lot. I'm hoping in the next Zelda they allow you to purchase copies of weapons once you have found them. Like through a catalogue or weapon shops (come to think of it, I haven't seen a weapon shop so far). I'm fine with a weapon breaking system, it keeps you on the hunt for more. Just wish you could have an easy way of acquiring copies of weapons you like (this would be a great use of rupees as well) and perhaps having weapons last a little longer in battle than they currently do

I am blown away by how well this game handles NPC interaction. I think NPC interaction may be the MVP of this game. I have a question about something a Zora says. This is a Zora in Zora's Domain;
A child Zora mentions his mom is missing. I fear she is dead but want to help. is there a way of finding this child's mom?

Dungeon/plot? spoilers:

Just finished the Zora section and throughout the venture through the Zora River, crossing the bridge to Zora's domain, collecting the electric arrows, shooting the red orbs on Ruta with the prince's help, the Ruta dungeon itself, and finally the boss, the word awesome comes to mind. What an experience from beginning to end. This game is truly something special.

The poor Zora champion though. :(

Can't wait to get back home and play

No spoilers but here goes, I've been following the first bits of the story, at the Zoras now. If I'm having real trouble even hurting a big enemy there, should I come back later or figure out a trick to beat him or do I have to git DS levels of gud?

I think I probably spent 7 hours plus in the Gerudo zone from the point I first got to the shrine at the far right, and deciding to climb the mountains on a whim, all the way until I finally just got into my very first real dungeon. So many adventures. So many memories. So much variety in one area. This sort of progression is better than any dungeon. It honestly feels like without the game guiding me much, simply presenting opportunities, many of which being optional, I already got like 3 dungeons worth of Zelda-isms before even getting to the actual dungeon. The gift that keeps giving. Holy shit.
Gerudo is probably favorite region, the first one I visited after leaving the plateau. I'm a sucker for deserts in games for some reason and this is one of the best I've seen. Love the music, the atmosphere, the characters and so many cool places to explore.Plus the sand seals are awesome.

Nothing says you need to fight it.

Re: the last part, there is, you'll do it as part of a sidequest.

Does Blood Moon respawn all of the items/ingredients/wildlife in the world or are those on separate timers?

For example I found an area that has a bunch of swords sticking out of the ground. I marked it with a sword icon so I could go back when I ran out of trash weapons. They were there again when I went back but not sure what triggered the respawn, if anything specific other than time.

According to people here, you can just ignore him. Don't know how when he can run faster than you and has projectiles lol

If it's the
Lynel
you're just supposed to sneak around it and grab the arrows. Those enemies can kill you at any stage of the game and you need to be much more prepared than you probably are now. You might not even have the weapon durability to kill it.

You're gonna want the Sheikah gear for this.

I went there first too after Kakariko. Second best region but least favourite dungeon.

Worst region is Death Mountain. Best is obviously Necluda.

The plateau he is on is huge and he tends to patrol the entire area. Just go all the way to the other side and circle in the same direction he is going while collecting the stuff.

If you're talking about the
Lynel, centaure,
you're not supposed ti fight him. Just sneak.

There's 100% a solution to The Lost Woods that's much simpler than any of that.

DO NOT CLICK IF YOU DON'T WANT THE ANSWER

Once you get to the double torches, follow the direction of the wind.

The torch method only helps if you're trying to get to the one area, though. My methods work if you're trying to explore other areas. For example, I'm trying to make my way to the nearby swamp, and the torch is trying to lead me back to where the
Master Sword
is.

I killed that thing on my first try for the lolz. Potion up and git gud.

The fact that you can (Early Game Spoiler)
Just straight up wear Sheikah clothes and be a ninja, using throwing weapons to do critical damage in surprise attacks
Is amazing

Stupid question: can you escape a dungeon, or rather a
mechanical beast
?

I tried escaping the
elephant
and I died. Teleportation is inactive, as far as I can tell. I could beat the boss now, but it would be a waste of special arrows, and I'd like to avoid it if I can...

What I love about this game is that it infuses 3 GOATs into one awesome whole:

Zelda gameplay + a Miyazaki aesthetic + an Elder Scrolls type world = gaming greatness!

Don't you just have to go to the Sheikah pedestal where you entered from?

You can leave via the map screen, there should be a "Leave area" prompt.

Yeah, hit X I think on the map screen. It'll ask you if you want to leave the area. You'll warp away, then you can fast travel back to the entrance as it has one of those glowing Sheikah pads.

Took me about an hour to take him down early on various tries and nearly all of my equipment was gone before he was dead but it felt so good seeing him finally go down. Make sure you have enough weapons to last the fight, enough heart restoring items to be able to take a few hits, use parry and flurry attacks while dodging, and don't be afraid to try and get a hit or two in with arrows when he's on the other side of the peak.

Literally every shield and sword I had broke during the fight. I had to kill him with arrows which I was also running out of. It was the most memorable fight I've had so far, though it, for me, was also the closest to something out of Bloodborne.

They should have thought about balancing weapon breaking a bit better like a black smith that fixes them for ruppees, items breaking too much leaves you with players who don't engage in combat unless abdolutely necessary and not willing to try all the weapons. I'm sure this will be big concern for Japanese gamers. They had this issue in Fire Emblem where people would just sit on weapons especially if they were legendary.

Get the shiekah armor and sneak around and you're good lol

Sheikah armor is the best armor in the game. This become more and more apparent with time to me.

With the proper food and sheikah armor, you can become a goddamn ninja.

Its balanced by the fact that every enemy drops a new weapon. Don't use your AmazingBallsZwordZofAwesome on a mogoblin, that's your personal waste of a weapon. I always have a set of "common" weapons that I cycle without worry, and then I have a set of weapons for world bosses like the centaur dudes. World bosses will take a lot of weapons but they give you good shit in return.

There's nothing resembling a shortage of weapons, though. If anything, I have too many, and even with expanded inventory I have to intentionally throw/break/drop weapons to keep up with the pace I get decent stuff.

Read at your own risk:
I've read that toward the end, there will be seller who will sell you the old powerfull weapons you got. Dunmo, if it's true. I'm not there yet.

This is one of those games, like Dark Souls, where dying is part of the experience. I love how quickly I'm back up and trying again.

I love how weak the weapons are. I love how weak I am. Really tempted to stick with 3 hearts for a long while.

A
minigolf
shrine? Lmao, the Korok seed puzzles have started to get a bit stale since there hasn't been much variation, but the shrines still keep delivering.

Agreed, I recommend that set to everyone. Helps sneak by enemies, helps catch critters and hunt, helps sneak up on horses. Plus it looks cool.

Also like the gerudo voe and rito sets, nice to not have to worry about elixirs or having fire/ice rods for temperature control.

Weighing in on the Ruta boss:
I only had three hearts at the time and everything was a one-shot kill. I died three or four times in a row because it would hit me from across the room. But then I just switched to Shock Arrows and it completely trivialized the fight. Two Shock Arrows in the eye disables it. Then you are free to wale away on it. At the half-way point when it raises the platforms, it was only slightly more annoying. I did less damage from disabling it each time and ended up just killing it with Shock Arrows.

I don't know where to get more, though. I used em all up.

Ultimately, in my final bout with the boss, it took about 90 seconds.
Normal arrows do the same

The korok puzzles follow a generally five-bullet list of options, there's a few crafty ones like the NBA Jam one but the majority are very rudimentary.

The only other armor I think may be worthwhile in the long run, aside from fashion wars for the hooded wandered set (unless it gains some amazing bonus later), is the weapon damage set. But it looks awful!

I am playing this game with 3 hearts and three bars of stamina, food can supplement the hearts with +18 food options. Ninja all the way, haha.

Fuck that shrine. Whatever treasure was at the end wasn't worth it first shrine I just gave up to get the final treasure and left

This is actually amazing design, I think. There is such a huge variety of weapons, and many of them are tucked away in delightful places (found a claymore stuck into a rock on the top of a mountain, for example) that I really welcome the mechanic, even if I was super hesitant about it starting out.

It encourages you to use everything at your disposal, and to pick your battles carefully. There's no reason to be afraid of losing everything, as that is actually fairly difficult in my opinion. I'm generally so flush with weapons that I find myself discarding them on a regular basis.

Just a quick question. Am I supposed to do something or can I do anything with the minerals I find (ore, opal, etc)? Or should I just sell it? I'm currently hoarding them In case they can be used for crafting.
