Are there any items that are pretty much just Vendor Trash? Just found my first merchant and I was wondering what all is just worth selling.

Well, i am selling the armor, which i already have (or keeping the stuff with better stats). There is no benefit of keeping weaker armor.

I sold some ore to buy some new stuff, but will keep the new ore i found until i need rupees again.

If I have an over abundance of certain monster parts I'll just sell those off. Always more monsters around. I guess you could try cooking them up into potions beforehand and selling those for a bit more money. Opal and other ores and gemstones are good for selling, but it seems like everything you find could have at least some use somewhere.

So gems are safe to sell?

Anyone want to talk about the heavy Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind inspiration in this game? Off the top of my head:
  • General Miyazaki-esque feel in graphics and music
  • Link even looks like Nausicaa in his blue outfit and no hat
  • Glider is pretty reminiscent of Nausicaa's glider (though not quite as cool)
  • Post-apocalyptic, ancient robots, nature themes all recall Nausicaa
Oh yeah, it's channelling Laputa, as well.

Everything can be used for something, whether it be cooking food, making elixers, or using them for crafting accessories. Also some stuff are needed for upgrades. Don't sell any ancient materials. I recommend to sell things you have an excess of or no immediate use of.

If you are trying to
activate the pedestal thing in the "humps"
think about what different things in the game can
conduct electricity
. That's how I finished it.

I'm still trying to
get the terminals in what I presume are the belly sections that rotate. I got one by activating the circuit on top of the area, causing the front to perpetually turn, then jumped off from the top and glided to the second terminal. Moving a bit faster now, actually! But still four to go.

Have you done the side quest
The Spring of Wisdom in Hateno Village?

If you haven't. Do that.

If you have done that side quest, you learned that
if you shoot an arrow at them they lose a scale. The scales are needed for stuff. You don't kill the dragons, they are on your side

ooohh cool, thanks :)

How much of my so-called "play time" is just me standing there, contemplating the beauty of the world design or the cleverness of a puzzle, I'll never know.

For being made out of wood there are a lot of Korok's in Death Mountain. Guess they have death wishes.

"You found me! OH MY GOD IT BURNS!"

I didn't find Eventide Island hard to fight through, but
I hadn't used the ice block power for anything in tons of hours, so I ended up trying a bunch of shit with Otorock balloons and the nearby trees for like half an hour before remembering about it when getting the ball into the one platform on the water

Dudes I'm at the entrance of the first, I assume, dungeon, the one in
Zora Domain
and my god the
whole battle thing with the prince and the arrows was one of the coolest shit ever, the music, the amazing voice acting of the dude encouraging you, the atmosphere and everything, some sublime epic stuff, just wow.
I just had to stop and share lol, now onto the actual thing.

This game man.

Just did that part too! Man this game rules.

Man Eventide Island is such a neat idea, loved it. Reward was kinda lame for the effort though.

Place is a great way to farm arrows and relatively decent one handed sword early on since enemies and chest respawn everytime you travel there it seems.

Also that dumb shrine with the ball maze is really bad, I know you can cheese it but I still think that was a bad idea.

Does anybody else have the Zelda BotW amiibo? I finally used mine today and all I got was ingredients. Which is supposed to be for Toon Zelda.

Did I get a bad amiibo? First time ever buying one.

You didn't get a chest? Ingredients is normal, but you should also be getting a chest each day.

No such thing. Every day I get different things with my BOTW amiibo. Got a 40 rated shield yesterday with Zelda

It is random what you get. However, you can use it daily to keep getting items. THere is a whole list of stuff the amiibo's net you including armor sets and
Epona.

The trial with the tilting maze puzzle was terrible. Took me forever to get the ball to fly onto the track correctly because of the terrible camera angle and mediocre motion sensing.

It's related to a quest that is only available after you've done many other quests in the village.
I'm pretty sure I did all the quest in
Kakariko
Village but still nothing?

Yeah, this was bad. Nintendo should know that any ball games they make need HD Rumble so I can feel 'em

I cheated.
You can intentionally hurl the ball off at the start and turn the platform 90 degrees while flat. That way it lands in the last stretch of the puzzle eliminating the bit where you have to navigate it.

It's not the only shrine I bent the rules on either and I've only done a few. It's one of my favorite aspects is exploiting them.

I spun around in a circle and launched the ball with a 90 degre flip, took 4-5 times but eventually made the shot. Fuck that maze!

I did this too... Beginning to think it's the intended solution, haha. :D

Agreed. It was pretty shit.

To make it slightly less painful
rotate the maze anticlockwise about 90 degrees as the ball drops down and it will fall into the final part of the maze.

Edit: beaten like a bokoblin

Having so much fun with this game, the sense of freedom and the dynamics of the world are unlike anything else I've played. There's a weird switch in your thinking that occurs while playing this game, from using "game" logic to just normal logic. Today for example, I wanted to light a cooking pot during the rainstorm, but my torch was extinguished by the rain on the way. I'm sure Zelda isn't the first game to do this, but it's full of little moments like these. The most obvious and logical solution or answer is likely the correct one, which is just so neat.

I've been using my sister's Switch to play this week, not sure what I'm going to do when I head back to university later this week. Really want to keep playing this game.

There was a brief moment where I sold all my ore and earnt, like, 4000 rupees and thought I broke the economy. Nooooope.

Also, it took me a hilariously long time to find even one rupee. I started to doubt they were even in the game.

Would someone mind explaining how amiibo unlock clothing items?

You can get a supply drop from certain Amiibo once per calendar day. The supply drop contains a specific in game thing like fire arrows or rupees plus another big chest that contains a random cosmetic item like the OoT green tunic. You can use it once per calendar day (not in game day). if you have a lot of amiibo you can use every one of them once per day I believe (but I don't have any of them). It's paid cosmetic micro transactions that are included in a toy.

I actually tilted it
so it'll be completely vertical, let the ball drop on to the rails and from there just let is slide with a little kick at the end (you can also turn the whole maze upside down)
.
