This is a horse taming question in regards to a side mission for a horse. I'll spoiler it but how much stamina do you need to get
Zelda's horse?
Make some Stamina potions and when you get to about half a circle left, take it. I had one or two stamina upgrades and it wasn't enough, used a couple 1/4 circle refills. Nest spoiler is how to make basic Stamina potions

Restless Cricket plus Monster parts (horn, fang, guts, etc). Add more of either side to make a bigger potion.

Guys I've only done the Zora's
dungeon. But OMG even this was so inconvenient. Mind blown. Using the elephant to solve or. Whatttt

I find it amazing how relatively full the environment feels despite so much of the map being empty land. I think it's because they made the map in a way so that despite the freedom player has, the player will roughly always follow a path laid out by the designers (be it either by loosely funneling the player or by making a point of interest large and visually striking enough that it attracts the player) meaning you always encounter something.

I just finished my first real dungeon -
the Elephant one
and honestly I'm perfectly happy with it. I mean the built-up in itself could probably count as its own dungeon in terms of content and variety.
It's interestingly enough quite different from the other 3D Zelda games and yet it has the classic dungeon tone - it's probably because of the game's physics that it's much more puzzle oriented with some stuff in it that requires thinking outside the box and especially where you have to take the entire level geometry into account. I'm looking forward to seek the next ones!

Leaving
Zora's Domain
now - feel like I have been there for the last 4-5 hours lol

I'm strangely satisfied with finally having the house. I just like having something I can consider a home hub to return to and having a place to store some of my better weapons is hugely appreciated. I'm actually a little worried about having enough weapons to complete a boss when I finally encounter one. Next on my checklist is to get a horse and find a stable, hopefully after that I can head to the Zora domain finally. It's wierd. I've logged a fair amount of hours now but achieved virtually nothing in the main quests.

On of the greatest games ever.

It just works

And when the DLC drops it'll probably be even better. Add some stabilization patches for Docked mode on the switch version and it's basically fine and does everything it sets out to do perfectly.

It just dawned on me that this game is probably the most "varied" experience I've ever had in a good sense. The sheer number of scenarios in this game is off the charts. Basically leaves every other open world game in the dust.

Speaking of the DLC I wonder how they will handle hard mode. I'm kind of hoping for a Zelda 1 Second Quest kind of thing. I hope we get a cool new location for the second DLC too.

Finally got different armor at the
Rito shop!

Not as good as the champion shirt, but maybe upgraded it will be just as good, plus it has cold resistance.

Holy shit.....just had an incredible moment just now and it honestly blew my mind! I mean I had my mind blown in this game already but this one just peaked everything else I had so far!

I saw him on my first day playing. I had been doing the "normal" stuff up to Hateno village and thought I had to go back to the Temple of Time to use the orbs. I teleported back to the plateau, but suddenly blood moon happened and I was ambushed at the entrance of the temple. It was a messy melee with bokoblins and skeletons where I barely survived with half a heart left (didn't know the controls well yet). I enter the tempel, tired and a little bit frustrated, but suddenly something caught my eye to the east. A MOTHERFUCKING DRAGON flying over Lake Hylia. My jaw dropped. My first day experience was good, but sort of expected after all the previews. But then this happened. I felt like Ash Ketchum seeing that legendary bird in the first episode of Pokemon. No explanation, it's just there in the same world as you.

I just got past that dungeon also. I freaking loved it! No it's not as big as a typical Zelda dungeon but there are very minimal mindless enemy encounters and the whole dungeon acts like a giant puzzle which I enjoyed. I guess you can get through it pretty quick if you know exactly what you are doing but the first time through it took me a while to figure everything out and get all the treasure chests.

The part where you have to
traverse up and down the trunk while manipulating its position to get to the top of Elephant's head, and when you have to carefully position the trunk to get to the Sheikah node at the end... I got serious vertigo and LOVED IT

This game is super good. It joins Far Cry 2 and Dying Light as my favorite open world games. They all have one special quality in common, and that's focusing on the journey rather than the destination. The open world here in Zelda basically serves as an obscured "stage select" option. So far, no matter where I intend to go or what route I take, it feels like stretched out 3D Zelda design instead of just space you pass through to go to the next objective. So glad it turned out to be a great open world game, and one of the best.

I think it's these two things:

1) The hardware is obviously not good enough for it and if there wasn't a haze it'd look poor since the shortcomings would be more apparent. For evidence look at any area with minimal haze, all you'll see is flat and blurry textures, low LoD and little geometric density. The Haze kind of gives depth to the atmosphere taking a bit of attention away from the flaws.

2) As an added benefit of the environment being subdued, the shrines now stick out more since they contrast with everything else in the environment.

I'm just not sure, the times when the haze randomly fully clears, it looks amazing. Either way, you can't deny the art of this game.

Caved in and got a second hand Switch. Just got the paraglider.

This game is amazing. Never been into Zelda games before, but this is miles beyond anything out there in terms of gameplay and open world design.

Haha that Ash reference but yeah, I agree since that's exactly how I'm feeling right now. Truly a magical game this is!

Can someone answer a question about Guardians?
Are their origins ever explained any further?

The ancestors of the current hylians built them over 10,000 years prior to the game to work with the previous Link and Zelda to defeat Ganon. That's all really we need to understand about them I feel. Not a complex idea. But as you know, same trick seldom works twice which resulted in this game's plot.

i have been brute forcing the fuck out of enemy encounters and tower-climbing. i think the one at the far west of the map:
akala tower - is something i may have cheated into, but i had to crawl on top of the only piece of the ruins not covered in muck and float over to the tower. it was after evading the shit out of some floater guardian. also sniped a normal guardian because fuck those guys.

Well, I have officially covered every area on the map and I did that before I ever even beat a dungeon!

I did just finish the
first divine beast
and boy that was fun! I did get a little
sad knowing that Mipha is actually dead, her talking about wanting to see her father again made me tear up. :( I definitely want a Mipha amiibo too, and Sidon. I think they're my favorite characters in the game so far.

I'm probably 20-25 hours in..at this point I have no reservations saying this is one of the greatest games I've ever played.

I'm 32 hours in and I just talked to the person in Kakariko village. There's so much to do and see that you honestly get distracted all the time trying new things.

This is the best game i've played in years and even maybe the best of all time, seriously.

I just talked to this random guy who turned out to be some douche from the Yiga clan and I wasn't prepared to fight him. Thanks to flurry rush and a thrown weapon, I was able to finish him.

Can you rename horses?

I can't read and ended up naming (quest spoiler)
the Royal White Stallion Empress. Although I'm not sure if the horse itself is a stallion or if it's specially referring to Zelda's.

Amazing fucking game so far. Some technical imperfections on the Wii U (assuming Switch as well), but everything else is sheer perfectness. However, I have one gameplay-related thing that keeps irking me. Unless I'm blind, is there no way to track down weapon usage and the pace of which weapons break? Or any other indication besides the frequent "(weapon) is heavily damaged"? Secondly, some of the weapons break WAY too damn quick.
