How do I make the controls more manageable?

I find the games logic isn't meshing with mine. Everything seems backwards interns of the select button, cancel button etc.
Yea same, Nintendo and Microsoft need to be friends and adopt the same button layout.

Everyone goes through this phase while playing this game. There is that moment where you keep dying and really have no idea what to do or why as your Goddamn weapons keep breaking and the rain won't stop.

Anyways, my advice is to learn how to to cook so enemies aren't one shotting you, you can improve resistance, attack power, defense, you name it. And then just do the story missions. You'll get back on track eventually.
I've beaten one of the dungeons and have played roughly 20 hours of the game. The difficulty has nothing to do with the game. If anything I don't think it's hard enough.

LOL, so I spent two hours in one extremely small area tonight, heading to Hateo Village. This game just eats the time away, I started at 7:00 and its 9:30.

This game is just insane.......

I have probably 30 hours on my game time. I've only done 1 divine beast, and 30 or so shrines. And only 3 memories. This game is easily 100 hours.

It's all backasswards to me too. I got used to it for the most part but I do wish you could remap the configuration.

One of my favorite things about this game is that even though it's massive, every part of it that I have seen is designed to draw you into exploration and investigation not just because you can, but because there is something to be experienced/gotten there. "Going there" just to go there is no longer an allowable dynamic.

This feels great when combined with the cohesive physics and survival elements that put you in the world.

There is never a time when I feel like Link does not live in this world. There is no disconnection between character and playground.

Amazing.

Two questions:

Is there a reliable way to make rupees early game? I'd like to buy some armor.

Also, I just upgraded
the slate at the 2nd village and then went and got the memory quest with Impa
is there any obvious place to go next, or should I just explore? I ran into the
Zora Prince
but the game had been pretty linear up until that point, so I'd rather not face anything too out of my range for now.

For rupees: go back to the plateau and beat the stone monster. It gives you a lot of valuable stones you can sell.

Regarding your first dungeon, you can pick the one you want but it seems like everybody went for
the Zora one.
It's not too hard at all.

Ocarina has the better weapon
(Biggoron's Sword vs Toon Link's Boomerang)
. The clothing looks very similar to each other, with only minor details different (like hair style and Toon Link's swirly belt), since they're both just green tunics with white pants and a pointy green hat.

Also Toon Link's gear works for both Toon Link amiibo, so you can pick up the much cheaper Smash one. The Hero of Time gear is exclusive to only the Ocarina Link amiibo.

Nice, thanks. I guess word is spreading because people are buying them up fast. Price on both went up ten dollars between our posts.

Luckily I just found out a friend has Toon Link so I guess I'm going to his place every day now, lol.

Great, thanks! I'll head that direction. I've done about 12 shrines so far so if it's too hard I'll just go find some more.

God dammit
I saw what appeared to be a shooting star from the entrance to Gerudo Town that landed all the way back past Kara Kara Bazaar and by the time I could get to it, it disappeared :(

New page bump

This is an issue with Nintendo and everyone else (the confirm/cancel buttons being reversed) and it's been that way for ages. It always takes getting used to to play a Nintendo game, then later it takes getting used to going back to normal.

Did not really care for the first dungeon
Ruto
. It we OK I guess, but kind of obtuse and more aggravating then interesting.

Hope they improve from here.

The Fateful Stars Shrine has me completely stumped. I feel like I'm missing something really obvious, but I don't even know where to begin.

This has been a Nintendo (and Japanese console) standard for ages, if you're referring to A as confirm and B as cancel.

What's your train of thought/logic right now? I can give some hints, but it's an amazing feeling when it just clicks.

The quest on Hatelia town about
the 3 trees and the rock. I went there and defeated the stone golem, then went back to the village but the woman who gave me the quest just taunts me about the treasure, am I missing something?

You are looking for a hidden shrine, not a Golem

I don't even know. I literally have no idea where to start. But that's ok though, I'm not looking for any hints. I've been playing through the full game without any sort of guide, so when I can't figure something out I just come back later

Don't you want that fast travel point though?

I'm bummed out now, I found a
Stalhorse and I was riding it around and it looked like I was raising a bond meeter with it, but I'm not allowed to board it at a stable.

Right, that shrine was the most "IQ-test" I have seen yet

Don't you want that fast travel point though?

You only need to open the shrine's door to make it a travel point, you don't need to beat it ;)

This game is amazing, just finished my second dungeon after 40 hours in. I then on goading on my girlfriend I decide to go to Hyrule Castle ducking an dodging for my life until I actually fight Ganon.

Then after that I explored the castle and made out with a ton of new gear.

Do killed Guardians respawn after the bloodmoon.

Just started my first dungeon quest, got to Zora's Domain. Went to Shatterback Point to get shock arrows when I fought a
lynel
for the second time. Fucked this one's day up because I had the
Thunderblade.
Game's crazy, going into my first dungeon

Edit: Man, just getting into the dungeon is crazy

Lol, twice now the game has put elaborate puzzles only for me to find a simple one button solution.

I love it.
I like when there's a mud puzzle that you clearly need to do something to beat, but you can just freeze the mud with cryogenic and cheese the obstacle
Do you only have to scan the Smash Link amiibo only once to get Epona, or do you always have to scan it any time you want Epona?
Once you register her, she's yours. Make sure to bring her to a stable.

So. I love this game. In fact. I guarantee this takes its place as one of my favorite games of all time. I just wrapped my first
Divine Beast, Ruta.
I love everything about it. It really is a masterpiece, but most importantly, this game gave me something to ship like I've never done before
but Mipha and Link is my OTP of OTPs. It was so sweet, and goddamnit- I was hoping Mipha would've lived and been in stasis like Link. Scuse me while I sob

Does anyone know of any stable locations west of central hyrule fields like near Hyrule ridge?

That entire region seems devoid of almost anything for some reason

The build up to the Zora dungeon is one of the coolest things in the series. The dungeon itself was pretty fun too.

Is there a chest piece for the rubber armor? I found the helm and leggings close together but never found a chest piece.

I didn't care for the dungeon itself, but I agree the lead up is fantastic.
