I've noticed the shrines are extremely tiny. Like, one dungeon room with 1-2 simple traversal puzzles per shrine tiny.

Are all shrines like this? Are the dungeons meatier in terms of content?

The Shines are variable in difficulty and size. None of them are dungeon sized, but a few are 10 minute investments.

The dungeons are of course bigger and meatier. There are 120 shrines, so they were never going to be huge.

Just finished my first dungeon after who knows how many hours.

The Zora Guardian. The mechanics. Just wow. And the feels at the end.

I heard that you can get traditional clothes by beating every shrine. I have no clue if it's true or not.
Strategy guide definitely says you can. Apparently you need to go to
the Forgotten Temple. I was super glad to hear that that cool area wasn't just another spot with a shrine. Seems like it could have been better communicated though, that it was something more. Would have incentivized shrine hunting to know ahead of time that there's a reward. Guess it doesn't matter since people will learn online anyway.

Upgraded my stamina twice with my spirit orbs. Feel like spiderman when I'm climbing mountains now. Those extra 15 (?) seconds of extra climbing is key.

Got it, thanks.

I guess they spread out the dungeoning experience to be bite-sized rather than putting all the dungeon level design stuff into a handful of huge dungeons.

I'm on the first Divine Beast and trying not to look up guides or walkthroughs or anything of that sort so I don't spoil, but am I missing something super fucking obvious on the second terminal
(the ball and the two counterweights on the other side of the cog)
. Anyone able to nudge me in the right direction?

Which beast is that? I was visiting the Zoras first, and met my super bro the Zora prince. In the beast he guided me to (as a total bro) I spent 49minutes of pure stupidity forgetting about all the lessons from the Crionic shrine and never got the map (I ended up looking it up on the internet, and face palming a lot).

Guys! The attention to detail here is insane. You can shelter from rain under trees. By that I mean the rain does not fall under the cover of the trees leaves etc.

So about the Coliseum in Central Hyrule?

The dude in front mumbles something about treasure if you kill all the enemies. I killed them all and there were only two typical hidden chests around. Did I miss something?

My favourite aspect of the game is korok related
when you find them under a stone, drop the stone back on their head, the nose they make is adorable

Yes to both. There's no real guide to korok seeds, just a map showing where they are and what type of puzzle it is to get them.

Cool, just ordered it. Thanks for the reply :)

Trying to remember what lesson I'm supposed to learn from that shrine. I'm actively trying to open the four terminals, which I assume gets me the map?

Just beat Ganon. He is Probably doable without the divine beasts if you got decent shields and weapons. I had zero hassle and did him first try. Overall very easy bosses in this game as usual in Zelda games. The world and some mobs are much harder.

I just deflected his lasers with hylian shield i found in the castle prior to his fight. Then he get stunned and then you can just button mash with master sword. Seems it never runs out of energy When it is buffed and glows. Could use it in the whole castle area without it breaking.

Check the map and pay remember what the voice in the beginning told you about being able to controle the beast. (Next spoiler a little more of a hint)

The red dots on the map correspond to where you want the beasts trunk to be, move it to different locations to see what happens. (Next spoiler little more for you)

The trunk is spewing water the whole time, move it to where the wheel starts to spin and use your ruins to get the desired result. That should be plenty to get you through that section.

You can make a pillar right under gates if there is water. Usually it helps you out, give it a go.
great idea by the developers

took me a good couple hours and 3 attempts to get it right
I'll be on my fourth attempt next time I try. All of my deaths have been dumb, the last time was the worst as I landed in a puddle and got zapped by lightning as soon as I started, so really doesn't count.

Is there anything permanently missable? I heard that
if you forget to add the divine beasts to the compendium before defeating them you won't be able to complete the compendium since the guy in Hateno doesn't have them for sale.

I was scared of this...Sigh...Please don't let this be the case...

You can't just
fast travel back to those and snap a pic after they are freed
?

Beat my first Divine Beast and...eh. Not really feeling this game. There's some fun exploration and characters but it's just buried in crap and obnoxious gameplay.

I'll soldier on but I'd be dishonest if I didn't say this is the most underwhelming and disappointing game I've played in awhile.

Yeah, once you're at him it definitely feels like he could be beat without too much fuss.
I got hit a lot, but all of his attacks seem very dodge-able.

The speedrun
goes straight there and takes him out with just the stuff found in the castle
. If you don't get the Divine Beasts though,
you have to fight all the bosses that you would normally fight in the beasts though, right in a row
.

Sorry to hear you're not having fun. Can I ask out of curiosity which beast it was?

I've played the game for about two days now and feel like I've accomplished nothing, yet I have. I still feel underpowered for anything. I really need to find a good way to get Rupees, find places to cook, find more shops, etc. Granted, I've also been wandering on my way to objectives.

Fuck thunderstorms
. But they're so cool.

Wait, you can
take pictures of divine beast? Fuck. I really hope I can take a picture of the purified one.

I had no idea how many shrines there were in the game. I only did 16 and I thought I didnt think I'd have much more to find but wow at the official amount. Some of these suckers are well hidden too :O

I'd hardly be surprised if Jim scores it lower than the rest just so he can be the only one who has, and if he does then I'm afraid he loses all integrity of being a games reviewer. Somebody who thrives off attention, controversy and clicks, does not make a professional game journalist.

How dare someone like a game a few % less than you like a game. It's obviously not his real opinion and all just some ulterior motive.

just tried to ride a Lynel

Put on my sheika dress and snuck up to him an indeed it worked
burned through 5 stamina bars, though, I doubt you can tame them

after that I donned the guard armor and realized: I can take that guy

absolutely spectacular fight, could be a dark souls boss, and a good one

This game is definitely not for anyone, and there are a lot of elements that are going to disappoint long time Zelda fans so I'd expect to see a lot more critical opinions as more people get through the game. I'm still fairly early on (one divine beast down, but most of the map unlocked) but I've already got my major issue with the game despite thinking it's incredibe overall.

After beating the game
it suck that you cant continue from there after the credits When the castle is purified. Can only load up the last save...
