omg this damn
korok
tailing mission too

why is this in my zelda game -__-

This mission tortured me

I succeeded on my first try. I didn't go up and talk to him at the end, though, because I thought the whole point was to not be seen and let him think he did it on his own -- Which is what the quest giver explicitly told me to do. So I just returned to the quest giver.. When I realized I had to talk to the guy that the quest giver told me not to let see me even though the game and the quest giver never told me that.

So I had to start over, but this time I kept failing because a wolf kept attacking at the end. It took me 4 more tries. I was really annoyed.

Hey!

This game is fun-fucking-tastic, holy shit. Just in the early game but cannot stop exploring and saying fuck battles, give me more Shrines and Korok seeds.

So one question, gems safe to sell as long as I keep ahold of a few here and there? I have a stockpile of 55 Amber and want to sell the bulk for the
sneaking armor in Kakariko
.

Cheers.

Does anyone with the amiibo feel they're worth it?

I have a goblin amiibo and it gives me a pile of meat and a level-appropriate weapon each time. You can do it once per IRL day.

It's not a huge deal but it's a nice bonus and it's fun watching the meat fall on the ground.

This game has gamers asking "can I do this?" probably more than any game, and the shocking thing is, usually it's yes.

Check out that Dunkey YouTube video.
Heh, had a conversation with coworkers this morning which consisted purely of "Have you done this yet?" and "Holy shit you can do that!??!" Really amazing.

I dunno if I'd go out and buy one for this game, but I already had the Smash amiibos and the Twilight bow (insane durability, infinite light arrows) and Epona have been incredibly convenient.

I also really want to get the Twilight Tunic set, but I've yet to have that drop.

Something I like with the map that I doubt many people would appreciate is that its a proper topographic map with the line spacing representing steepness. Its a small.feature most wouldn't notice but it helps a lot when trying to find the easiest way to climb.

Got a link?

And yeah, it's a game where you can screw around and have some fun, but I think, again, this aspect was overhyped because I went in with such high expectations and kept NOT being able to do things I wanted to do.

I had a wonderful time traversing the
Gerudo Desert
. The vast emptiness and long stretches of open plains or plateus worked really well after the super busy
Zora Domain and the Akkala region
. The guys that designed this world have done a stellar job of balancing out locations and sprinkiling something to do at just the right time.

Like I said before, it's arguably the best crafted world in gaming history from what I've seen so far and I've only seen about a third!

I found it really hard to see that dude in all the mist. Did that happen to you?

yea it doesnt help that hes the size of grass length

i'm' on my 5th try and calling it quits for a little bit. I used a stealth potion thinking it would help and 3/4s in mother fucker says "Is that a ghost" and then comes charging towards me causing me to fail.

I'm going to burn this absolutely gorgeous forest to the fucking ground

That's what I always do. ;) Better than the leaf imo!

I believe you can do this with a dropped metal weapon as well.

Yeah. I'm experimenting with other ways to Deus Ex my way through problems. Love that you can "break" the game by playing within the game's rules. Say, I want to see if I can lure a horse to a metal platform and lift it to a raft and see what happens.

(these are old replies to using the magnet to turn your raft into a power boat)

I'm surprised there doesn't seem to be a fishing pole in this game. You can catch fish by hand, knock them out with explosives or shock effects, leave insect bait on the surface to lure fish... you just can't actually cast a line and fish like most other 3D Zelda games.

As you exit the hollow log he ALWAYS says that. That part is pre-scripted. It doesn't matter what you do. Just stay in the log at that part.

Also kill the wolf with an arrow the instant you see it.

I miss it too. I think it got shafted because of time.

God I love the Korok puzzles in this game. How you naturally encounter them in the environment and how the environment is so deliberately crafted to lead you into solving them without needless obstruction. Like I encountered a circle of rocks in the water near Hateno Beach, figured it had to be a Korok puzzle. I tried jumping into it; didn't work. I walk around the beach and see rocks meticulously placed near the water. I immediately start thinking that I have to use Cryosis to help me reach the ring of rocks and eventually start shooting hoops with these rocks until one of them falls in the middle. It's the small, detailed stuff like that which makes this game so special.

Some of the stuff is insanely OP. I tested the Twilight Bow in here after someone mentioned they heard it uses its own ammo and not only does it do that, but it fires in a completely straight line and has 100 shots worth of durability. I can only imagine all the amiibo swords from different Links are similar.

what. the. fuck. I'm in awe! Fucking insanity. I'd love to play this!!

Well that's adorable as heck.

I thought it was cute. I enjoyed her's and the other Champions' voices.
Mipha was alright actually, once I got past the monotonousness of her voice; she keeps it all the way through, like a character trait- not necessarily a pleasant one, but it's fine, and as you put it, rather cute.

Rito guy's performance is the one I'd like to forget, but he kept it consistent as well, just that the character was a totally smug asshole.

"Okay" is what I'd describe the VA as; but a very small part of the game which doesn't detract much from everything else in it, and I think the devs would be criticised more for leaving the VA out entirely. That leaves a debate for how the VA should be approached in the future though.

I was being silly, I think that doesn't come off very well in text. In any case, I do think some of the reaction to the game is a bit hyperbolic. It's neat you can feed apples to horses but I just never saw that as being a big deal.

I think it's a cool little detail. I've been keeping in the dark with this game, so every little discovery I stumble upon is either by accident or experimenting.

I won't read through this thread as I'd rather keep the surprises a secret. Although I spotted the dog gif which is adorable.

booooooo. Shield parried Guardian on dueling peak
for the korok seed in the tree
and it flew off the mountain like a ragdoll after the 3rd laser. I wanted those gears.

Lesson? Don't fight guardians by cliffs. Thing is I was not where close to the mountain edge. I'm a bit salty about this happening.

Anyone else think
Revali
is the worst character in the game?

The rest of the voice acting has been pretty stellar, but man... this guy. I can't tell if his lines are poorly written or poorly performed, but they're some of the worst voice acting I've personally sat through in a long time. I honestly couldn't understand the characterization they were aiming for, but it didn't work.

Zelda and everyone else have been spot-on, so it's weird this one guy would be so off-note.

so how do people mount wild animals besides horses? every time i try they seem to hear me.

I found that gliding until you're right over them to be the easiest way. Otherwise, sneaky clothes/elixirs.

No kidding, he's actually my favorite of the champions. He's such a jerk, I love it.

Don't sell
diamonds or luminous stones. Keeping a few of everything is the right move. You can definitely sell a lot of that amber.

Should I get the Master Sword before i do any more dungeons? Im about to start the second one but I feel like I shouldnt progress anymore without my baby.

I somehow switched my view to first person while shooting arrows and I can't find how to get it back to third person?

Or maybe I'm just crazy and it was always in first person when zoomed?

Can't get enough of the Hateno Village music. Currently working on something else, so I left the game running with Link standing right in center of it. The music + village sounds are very soothing.

It's undoubtedly a cool little detail. I just don't think it's anything worth having an orgasm over. Some people are practically orgasmic when discussing this type of thing and it gets a little weird

Is there anything to do at heartbreak pond at the top of ebon Mountain with that guy waiting for his love? Can't seem to initiate anything

It's because you're using a specific bow. Switch to a different bow to return to third person.
