The OT is another example to show why this game is good
We are at OT2 already because so many people post their own unique story about this game(I really enjoy read them : ))

do any of the trailer music scores show up in the game? they could've easily added the music for the final trailer in Jan to the title screen..

I've noticed the very beginning part of the E3 2016 trailer music plays (where it's showing the landscape shots) sometimes out in the overworld. Other than that, though, I haven't noticed any.

So I just stumbled upon the
Lost Woods
...

How does it work exactly? I know the gimmick about that zone in the previous games but it's kinda weird for an open world...

I tried trial and error for about thirty minutes before I gave up and googled....hint/solution:

Light a torch and follow the embers

You may be cool but you will never be
dark link fighting a giant skeleton while riding a bear
cool.

It's path based. Just find the right path. It's honestly not that hard to navigate, but isn't super easy either. Mostly just trial and error.

HOW THE FUCK YOU GET
DARK LINK?!

Faron gives me some crazy Xenoblade Chronicles X nostalgia.

And man during sunset A
giant thunder dragon graced me with his presence. Fucking magestic. I was wondering why the music changed and where the updraft came from!

huh.
I was in the middle of the field when the blood moon was about to rise, I think the game clock was at 11:50pm, so I went to fast travel to a stable so I could cook... and then it was 12:00 and the blood moon never happened. weird

Interesting, I guess in theory you clear an area of enemies then warp just as the Blood Moon rises and then the enemies shouldn't in theory respawn.

Wow I finally went up to Mount Lanayru
and rescued the dragon!

And then I went to Lanayru bridge area to the west
where one of Link's memories are
. While there, I fought some moblins on the bridge structure next to iron crates and suddenly
the dragon was flying above us and
froze the enemy for me! I didnt see how it happen but I think it did because when I was looking
at the sky, the dragon was above, flying away from where we were fighting
!

So if I'm understanding the riddle in one of the singing birds songs correctly - the one one the mushroom shaped rock formation:

I basically just have to wait for a blood moon and then quickly walk to the shrine plattform? Or is is ist something entirely different?

I'm loving the game but I just wish the combat was better. It's very Zelda. Not a bad thing per se but given other certain games with in-depth combat systems combined with the innovation in so many other parts of the game make the simplicity of the combat stand out negatively.

There is an element where I know I could just 'get good' but I find myself avoiding the combat altogether. Which is kind of a shame.

Again they're okay and a lot of the puzzles are swell. Just feel like there's room for improvement and like with the size of the world the number of them is kind of overkill. If they had more enemies in them or small bosses it would go a long way for me.
I thought some did have bosses, at least that's what treehouse said last year. And for the size of the world, it makes perfect sense. At anytime, when don't feel like roaming the massive world, you can turn on the shrine radar and get back to the basic 3d Zelda loop of puzzles, which starts with finding a shrine nearby. I have just 3 bars of stamina and feel anymore would make climbing too easy, so I've just been going to shrines and figuring out how to get the optional chests and weapons.

Ok so after spending way too much time trying to figure this quest out, has anyone figured out what to do with the guy waiting for love up on the
heart mountain? Literally cannot figure this out. I bought all the clothes from the girl at kakario village and it says shell go there but she never does. I looked online and couldn't find anything

Reposting lol. Need halp.

I'm having trouble with the "Eight Heroine Quest" in the Gerudo Desert.
I found the huge sword statue at the top of Gerudo Highlands but I can't for the life of me find the actual statue that the guy wants me to get a picture of. Can someone just let me know if it's anywhere around there, or am I completely off base?

I've broken 4 sledgehammers, lipped in and out a few times - just really frustrating

And now I don't know where to get more lol

One good spot to get a hammer is the outside of the shrine next to the stable
at the entrance to gerudo desert.
However, for that type of thing, I feel like spears are easier to aim with.

Is there really no way to catapult yourself off a wall backwards? A wall jump. You can only jump up? If I hit b, I fall down immediately which does no good... am I just missing something?

About your question:
It's not by the sword (but remember where the sword is for later).

Another hint:
You can see it on the map, just like the other 7 heroines.

Yeah like it's fine they're just not as good as the dungeons to me. And I do think the size of the world is too big, like, they did a pretty good job of filling it out but I just find it needlessly massive. Also felt that way about MGSV only this is so much better at least.

yep but i think the simple feeling of adventure in this game just blow that out of water
Even there is no dungeon People can still play this for 50hours can you image that before Botw

Most zelda games took me 50 hours but it included non stop moments with almost no down time. So here I've played for 50 hours almost seen nothing but it's felt very random and empty at time, fun but not the same kind of experience.

Is a world this big really necessary?

50 hours and no down time? I see you haven't played Skyward Sword yet ;)

The delay between when you drop and when you can glide is brutal. I'm guessing it's intentional because i could see how it would have broken some puzzles though.

where can I get stuff for crafting things to increase my heat resistance?

I actually used the music cues to get through the woods

Word. MGSV feels a bit bloated when every side op is essentially extract this, and while some spots look designed, many places look copy pasted, especially the heavy infantry missions. Botw looks noticably like each nook and cranny, hill and mountain was designed in a way to catch your eye and make you think about going to them. The southeast coast is a really great example of this. I can see the shrine aesthetics being maybe a little annoying because they're the same, but the setup is usually elaborate enough that I'm thinking about how to solve it and not why hasn't the music changed for this region.

The Skyward Sword I played didn't really have much downtime.

And I agree with him about the world size, like... even if they cut it down a lot it would still be fucking huge. I'm fine with open spaces, empty fields/plains and whatnot, makes it feel organic but just the sheer size of it is insane and not really in the best way. I love this game, it's amazing but I do have conflicting thoughts about certain aspects. It kind of feels like they felt they were maybe pressured in "competing" with like say Elder Scrolls or Witcher or something. They don't really need to feel that way IMO.

they spent 4 years making the world so big that they forgot to make a zelda game

I'm at 30-somethinghours, about to go to Ganon + I haven't seen half of what people in this thread are talking about. I don't really want to run around this giant world for another 50 hours just hoping to eventually run into random shrines and people and other quests

I beat the main plot today! Still have a fuckton of side content I want to finish up, though.

Desert area spoilers:
Vah Naboris was by far the standout Divine Beast; it was mechanically complex, sometimes pretty difficult, and felt longer than the other three. Similarly, Thunderblight Ganon was a really cool boss, especially after the other three felt more or less interchangeable. I loved using Magnesis to move the lightning rods he summoned near him to make him vulnerable again--that had that "Zelda boss puzzle" feeling that the others missed.

I'll save my final boss spoilers for the spoiler thread so nobody accidentally clicks on them here.

Opposite direction of wall on stick and jump.

This game is not complete, it depends on the player to make it a whole
Secret will not come to find you, your experience belongs to you own

The controls in this game are terrible for me right now, really souring the experience. I imagine I will get used to them eventually, but man it's killing some of my enjoyment. Other then that I'm pretty damn hooked.

Lol, it's my least favorite 3D zelda but still a great game. But the main issue with that game was lack of freedom to explore (didn't care for the sky bits), this game fixes that and repetition of certain activities which this game has way too much of. But the dungeons and the stuff around it was ace, I will say at no point as BOTW reached the highs of SS (3rd dungeon is maybe the best ever) but it has a lot less of the lows.

Is that really better than a superbly designed experience that everyone enjoys the same way?

There is probably no right answer but these are all things Nintendo needs to consider going forward. The sweet spot I feel is in the middle.

Spring loaded hammer from m
onster parts
vendor did the trick

Well IMHO, the beauty of this game is everyone has different experience
It's just fun and pure joy (for me) to read other people's experience
If everyone enjoy the game the same way there is nothing to tell

Man, spent like five hours exploring the snow area---only came out with a few seeds and like one shrine, but exploring that area is so awesome and mysterious.

Speaking of the Hebra Region, I'm looking for the "Leviathan" as part of a quest---what general area should I be looking in?
