The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild |OT2| It's 98 All Over Again

Something cool I just discovered: carrying around a fire weapon acts like a personal, portable heater. I'm able to skip having to use cold-resistant food by using something like that along with the Warm Doublet.

I haven't been following too closely but I am hating the gyro puzzles. I'm not sure I want to keep playing after coming across one.

To be fair, I hate all motion controls, so when something is forced I have this reaction. I should probably just have passed on the switch because I'm sure they will be in most titles.

You can exit the shrine.

Isn't that how you're supposed to get to the one shrine on the Plateau though? I didnt think it was possible to reach it without actively consuming food.

No shrine after the plateau is forced. If you see a motion control shrine and don't want to do it just leave. There's only like 5 or so of them in the game anyway.

cryonis can break the ice. It can also make a path across the water
Almost all of the game is optional so that's that makes this excuse especially bad. My personal problem with it is not that the motion controls are there, but that they're implemented badly and don't work as well as they should. I'd like improvement on this more than anything.

Would you prefer a fog of war type map system over this one? Sometimes I don't know if I've been there or not!.

Most of the places I can actually recognize if you show me an image of it. Plus I put notes of things of interest all the time. Plus getting lost is kinda fun.

Well they're a handful out of a hundred shrines which makes it a perfectly valid excuse

I've finished more than 80 shrines and I can only remember... two? That has motion controls.

I would to be honest. The towers are neat cause you get elevation to see around you, but there are plenty of peaks to do that anyway. It'd help for the hunt for all the last shrines. I swear I had covered the whole map but after more searching I found a couple pockets I hadn't visited at all.

On my first dungeon boss:
Waterblight Ganon
. Any tips on the
ice cubes
part in the second half? I don't just wanna waste
arrows and swimming around is a HUGE hassle since Link frequently won't climb up on the platforms even when I'm right by them.
It's all really frustrating.

What I did to beat him was to use bomb arrows, that combined with the Master Sword made quick work of him.

This is what I love about this game, the openness of it.

You can use the ice rune to destroy the
ice cubes.

As some one who loves this game enough to start to heavily consider it being one of my favorite games of all time, I will say that the absolute BIGGEST criticism I have of this game is the lack of replayability it seems to have. While I can see myself easily dropping another 100 hours just screwing around and trying to 100% the game, I don't really think the game will have legs past that, unlike other zeldas which I frequently go back to and replay.

I think the reason for that is that there isn't a way to set up a second save file easily (other than backing up save data off the console). I would love to have a second save file to be able to go through the game again as I would love to try my hand at some speed runs or challenge runs like main quest only, or something like that which would give the game a lot of replayability for me.

Then again I haven't checked but the game really looks like it's just one main file, anyone know other wise?

Maybe you can set up another user profile and use it exclusively for 2nd play save and use that as your 2nd account? I agree it should let you make multiple saves especially in the event u actually need 8 accounts registered to individuals of the family.

edit: seems someone said the same thing and you are playing on the WII U so yeah that sux. Oh wells.

I agree that the motion control shrines suck. But if someone is so bothered by them that they want to put down the game they should just not do them.

120 shrines COMPLETED. :D
That sweet sweet
hero suit
, dyed it red.

Now, all the quests.

Grrr, waiting on the
bloodmoon
shrine quest. I just keep resetting to night with a flame sword and a campfire waiting..How close to
midnight should I wait before resting again

Congrats though! Good idea about dying it (:

Oh I misunderstood then, my apologies. I've seen people using the fact that they're optional as a way to excuse the issues that others have with them and I figured this was more of that.

No,

You need to kill as many monster as you can then the bloodmoon will appear.
I was stuck there until I knew this SECRET.

Go on a rampage from 8am to 2pm then that night you'll have it.

If you don't see the moon being red from the start, just go to sleep. I used to think it turned red later on, but I've seen it be red hours before

I edited one of my previous photos to make it look like the cover art for this game. :P

I'm legitimately as amazed looking at Zelda in portable mode as I am playing Horizon on a
PS4 Pro. Still feels a bit surreal knowing you can play BOTW on a portable without any compromises.

Anyone know how the game determines Black and Silver enemy type placement? Is it # of hours, armor upgrades, # of hearts/stamina? I had a couple weapons to add for the compendium I needed and it seems only weaker monsters will drop them. I if I let the
Horned Statue drain my essence
will that change it up?

Did that yesterday for 12 (human, not Hylian) hours straight. I would do shrines and exploration, then at around 12:00 at noon i'd visit the moon phase guy in Dueling Peaks stable for his prediction.
12 hours, 35ish shrines, and a lot of secrets, fights and progress later, the night finally came.
It was frustrating but fun. Especially considering that when I don't care, i got 2 every hour.

my physical copy (USA) didn't come with any manual whatsoever. Inside the case was the cartridge and thats it. Is that normal? I saw someone unbox an Australian version and it came with a manual

Thanks for the tip! Glad I've only been at it for 15 minutes haha

so whats the deal with rain and why does everyone (well, a lot of people) hate it and think theres too much of it?

I dont have the game or really know the systems in place mind you.

I think its normal, I got no manual ether.

The only thing Rain does is annoy you. You can't climb, and you can't set a fire. You often have to just wait it out. It was great as a plot device in the Zora domain, but in general its just annoying.

Rain is seriously just a fun-killer. Don't know what they were thinking.

Rain makes you explore ground levels rather than always climbing mountains. Also, it helps that you camp out sometimes.

Rain makes climbing hard as it makes things not covered slippery. Also, it makes certain weapons useless or less effective.

Start using shock weapons in the rain (:

Electric weapons really do thrive in that weather.

When I did my first beast, I did all the puzzles and died on the boss. Exited, did some exploring, got powered up, and then went back in and went right to the boss and schooled him hard.

The dungeon will reset in regards to enemies and such, but any of the alters that you've activated will remain activated.
Thanks. That is my plan then, many more shrines to have more than 6 hearts.

God damn it

How do I get to Goron City?! I keep burning I to flames and nothing the game has given me save for the heat resistant head band and elixer do anything to help.

I'm probably missing something so obvious.

You need to become fireproof. Yeah, no joke. And being fire-proof is different from being heat-resistant.

There's a stable near the death mountain that sells fireproof elixirs. You can make one too by picking fireproof lizards but that's also on death mountain so might as well buy the elixirs first.

"Flame" and heat are two different weather conditions. At the stable close to death mountain you can buy Flame-Proof elixirs. Just follow the road till you get to the mines. An NPC there has a quest that gives you a Flame-resistant armor piece. You can also buy the set when you get to Goron city.

Best way to not get lost is to just follow the road that have the red lamps on the rock!wallks.

No, I literally bought the three elixer from the movie (edit: NPC. Fuck autocorrect) at foothill for 150 and they had zero effect on me.

Going to remove my armor....
