According to him, his gene pool is cleaner. He considers himself white, probably tries to steer clear from using the dirty "M.E." words in his household.

Hm.. Think I'm saying there's more bigots out there than you're willing to accept. Not at all saying it isn't a problem in the gaming community. But I think it's an ugly part of America that exists in all parts and we need to address it wherever we find it.
It's 2017, everyone has a smartphone and can use the internet, there's something about nerd culture that attracts them.
Well yeah I don't anyone thinks it's limited to just the gaming community
And Destiny gets a follow from me.
Disney bought Maker, who has NormalBoots some years ago. Dunno if he is currently involved with Disney thoJon's associated with Disney?
It's not like his videos were funny to begin with. Game Grumps' soul was always Egoraptor."we have gotten rid of discrimination in our western countries"

Well, it's a few things. What is it with nerdy entertainment that attracts all the bigots? And before anyone jumps my throat with #Notallnerds, I know shitty people exist everywhere, but they can be found remarkably consistently in any form of nerd media, while they're less prominent in other forms of entertainment.
Video Games? Anime? Comic Books? Comic Book movies? Techie stuff like hardware/software...etc? They're remarkably consistent in where they hang out.
I have a dumb theory, those idiots never left home much in their childhood, so they relied on nerdy media to pass time, and nerdy media RARELY challenges their worldview, that's why when women and non-white protagonists started becoming more common in the past ~2 years they started the GG saga, they're not used to not being pandered to 100% of the time, that's why they went insane when WD2 had a black protagonist or when Horizon Zero Dawn had a woman, they're used to being pandered to, and when Trump became President they felt that they can be bigots publically without repercussions instead of being stuck in the depths of 4chan.
There were some good posts about how things like Steve Bannon's group was able to infiltrate gamer circle back when, it's not really a recent thing.
But basically, it's kind of a subculture that attracts a lot of low self esteem type people, and yeah when they feel threatened by things like that, you have people telling them it's okay to feel that way, it's okay to hate women/black people/muslims anyone who is not a white male basically, it spreads like wildfire.
If you see people that are like "You need to address the so-called middle roaders" just show them that stream. There's no hope reaching these folks. And they always think they are moderates or rationals, they don't see how entrenched they are.
It's not like his videos were funny to begin with. Game Grumps' soul was always Egoraptor.

You financially support that artist so he/she can keep spreading these views through a massive public forum. If you actively support these people, you are helping to spread their views.
I caught 10 mins. I'm seriously shocked at this.
Such a bummer, JonTron is a funny youtuber.
And Destiny gets a follow from me.
I don't get why Game Grumps is still being invoked in this thread's title. I know for a fact none of them supported the pure idiocy Jon was spouting in that debate.Arin/Egoraptor must feel so lucky to not be associated with any of this.

Someone please post the whole thing once it inevitably goes up
Funny how JonTron probably instantly ran back to his echo chamber after not even being able to make his points.
Just in case you missed the debate, a recap:

Well, it's a few things.
Since World War II, a popular fiction trope has been popular kids vs. nerds. Now, in pretty much all media, this thing was exaggerated. It was much more like A Separate Peace than it was swirlies and pocket protectors, but if you felt like you weren't a popular kid, you were probably a nerd who would never permeate that area where the popular kids resided.
Fast forward to the 90s, where video games are considered children's pursuits, and people who like them are nerds who lives in their parents' basements because they couldn't get jobs with their hairy palms. And these are people growing up with the same hormones as everyone else, but because of this reputation (that they no doubt also helped perpetuate by being unable to learn social skills to ingratiate themselves), they were lonely and eventually malcontent. They weren't going to show a girl Aerith's death scene, prove games were art, and get laid, and there was no Plan B.
Now the following 15-25 years became about the internet, where these people were not hanging out in clubs or at the video game store, but finding each other across state lines and oceans. And here they could share their anger about the way society has been treating them. Their hobby was under attack by people like Jack Thompson, so it made it easier to become hypersensitive and perceive Anita Sarkeesian as the exact same kind of threat. They viewed anyone asking for more representation for themselves as taking away from them, and they had so little beyond their privileged identity. They slashed at phantoms in hopes of drawing blood.
The other part of it is like that FilmCrit Hulk tweet thread said - almost all of these people, celebrity or not, has said something stupid out loud. Maybe they have done it multiple times, and it was reinforced as okay by groups A, B, and C. But then in Group D, someone took offense, or pointed out that it was stupid. Groups E - Z might feel the same way, you don't know, and you don't want to think about it. You want to convince yourself that it was just Group D, maybe some chucklefucks in other groups, but A - C are the good ones. Because these people chose to get defensive rather than introspective, they became indoctrinated into a culture war where empathy and compassion are considered flaws. They become insulated with the people that are willing to pump up their basest ideas rather than help their ideas evolve.
So you end up with...this, what gaming culture mostly is today. People who are trying to move it forward, people who are resisting that and becoming raving, racist lunatics in the process, and the frustrating middle that thinks that not taking a stance is the same as doing good.
And he'll be welcomed as a conquering hero too, further reinforcing his BS
Egoraptor and Danny Sexbang are good people. Glad they got that that kind of toxicity away from the Game Grumps brand
