Gaming, and also comics and other "nerdy" interests, are formerly niche hobbies that have become more mainstream in recent years.
There is definitely a group of fans who took some form of comfort in the previously "exclusive" nature of the hobby, who perhaps are now realizing that they may not be top dog as new blood comes into the fanbase. They preferred the old exclusionary model because it made them feel special and powerful over the more inclusionary modern reality.
This kind of mindset is rip for corruption by racist, sexist, etc. mindsets. These are people literally being told "You can be special again once we get rid of all these others"

Like I've stated before I don't even think Normal boots is really a thing anymore. I don't watch all the normal boots members content but from the ones that I do they have all removed the intro and no longer mention it in their videos. Austin (Peanutbuttergamer) also had an incident involving Jontron on twitter where h3h3's Ethan called out Austin for tagging Jontron in a tweet. Austin responded that they were no longer friends. The comment has since been deleted. Something clearly happened there but they're keeping it private.

It does sound like he's just making up arguments because he's getting soundly defeated in debate. There might be some sound points hidden under all these random "facts" (it's ok to be conservative on the internet for example), but his emotions were definately getting the better off him.

Thinking it is funny can lead to awkward situations where people don't understand the humour. It does, however, not lead to someone seriously engaging a discussion in the manner depcited here. In fact, I think, most of the time, people who think an idea is funny, be it racism, religion or communism, are not the ones who actually think the ideas are right (with some exceptions for more intellectual concepts and a certain sense of maturity from the person).
