It's time for your boy Tim to shine

Tim is awesome before I stopped KF he has become my favorite dude. Super good vibes and positivity. Yet he always knows where he stands with an opinion and is really good about disconnecting himself from his own position to give greater context to it.

I could see Beck and others in positions like his licking their lips. Look what they did with Tomi Lahren. She's literally an idiot but they used the fact that she is a young, attractive blonde to give their shitty views exposure and a platform. I could see them doing the same with Colin, only using him as an "in" to the young, male nerd demographic.
Real talk, there's obviously a huge, huge untapped market for an outward right-wing gaming personality. There's a lot of money to be made if someone really positions themselves. A lot of GGers ready to throw money at someone and Colin could easily be it. Kinda where I always saw him going, really.

This is basically what I'm expecting to happen.

I liked the episode of Colin Was Right that I saw. Didn't really watch much of Kinda Funny Games though, though I never disliked him on that either.

Oh, well. Good for him.

That's a symptom, not the cause.

It seems like he's gotten further and further away personality wise from Greg and the others, and his reaction to the joke (not so much the joke itself, which was just a dumb hacky joke) probably put too much stress on the company.

Their whole business can only exist with fan support, and if you have one of the key members of the team calling their fans "humorless sacks of shit" that's going to cause problems.
That's because everyone is forced to be beige in case they offend anyone, it's not as if he was outrageous infact he isn't but he's just different enough from the norm people get outraged. The worlds a strange place atm.

Was there a big backlash or something? Been too busy playing Zelda, but it can't just be that...

There were people who disagreed with it(Colin and Tim as well) and instead of giving any thought to it, or understanding the criticism of his stupid joke, he decided that those people were just humorless pieces of shit

Well I was literally watching Colin's Initial Zelda Impressions literally just now, and I mean his face...

Tim and Greg are cool. Colin clearly isn't into it anymore. Not to mention that one of the first things to come out of his mouth was a tongue-in-cheek joke about feminism.

SO. I didn't follow any of his social media drama, but hey. Whatever. It's important that the people seem happy about it.

RIP KF I guess.

PSILY XOXO was one of the main reasons many people subbed and supported them, I cant see Greg and Tim being able to continue with as much support now. Watch their Patreon numbers go down.

Best of luck to all of them.
I didn't subscribe before but will now.

Their fan community probably wouldn't have been able to survive too long either as Colin's notoriety rose and more and more alt-righters started following the site specifically for Colin. The community would have eventually imploded from the influx of those guys leading to conflict with the rest of the fanbase.

Also, it seemed like the rest of the site was beginning to come under some professional ostracism for their continued support of Colin, which probably weighed on them personally. Colin either needed to keep his head down, or they needed to split quickly before things got more painful, and they did the latter.

Honestly, I'll probably start checking out KF again. I was pretty turned off by his attitude. Probably put the business under a bit of stress with his general toxicity recently.

He really didn't fit in with KF at all, and when you are trying to grow a business you need to have a common goal/vision. Any time he would talk about the future of KF it was always opposed to the way others thought.

Decided to pull my Patreon from KF for now until I see how the remaining team functions without him. Best of luck to Colin and the remaining KF team.

Man, Colin's gotta be giving up a pretty nice paycheck...I can't imagine whatever he does next will be anything but a downgrade, except maaaaybe the solo-Patreon route

He'll be fine. Just look at how many people agree with his idiotic views. Shit, you don't have to look far, plenty of gaffers support his bigotry.

I kind of felt this coming. I never agreed with a lot of what Colin said, but I've always liked him, and probably always will. Good luck to him.

I hope the best for him. I remember religiously listening to the podcasts he was on week after week. I didn't agree with most of the time, but in terms of gaming, he would bring an interesting and different perspective that I usually would never consider. I think that's valuable in gaming media and we need more people like him willing to debate an opposing view.

Still, stupid twitter drama notwithstanding, I'll continue to follow work.

A raging male Tami. Just what we need to empower these frustrated young boys.

I think KF is done. Say what you want about the guy, he brought in a lot for their games channel. This really didn't end well for them.
