Yeah, used to like him a lot when it was when it was just him and Greg and I was younger, but he's turned out to be kind of a douche through Twitter (funny how those small bits can say so much). Didn't even watch any of his new show. Maybe I will also re-sub to Kinda Funny (but probably not).

...I'm torn on this.

on one level, the more I watched him the more I enjoyed his opinion, even if I didn't always agree.

BUT when he mentioned that he has never had a job interview, or written a resume, and yet makes his career picking apart the hard work of others..... put a sour taste in my mouth....

and now this. So, I say, Good Luck to him, and good for him for trying something new.

Life comes at you fast, my guy.

BUT when he mentioned that he has never had a job interview, or written a resume, and yet makes his career picking apart the hard work of others..... put a sour taste in my mouth....
A true embodiment of the American dream!!

well i guess i'm gonna start watching kinda funny again.

Nothin against the guy i just couldn't agree with his opinions at all. on anything.

That's because everyone is forced to be beige in case they offend anyone, it's not as if he was outrageous infact he isn't but he's just different enough from the norm people get outraged. The worlds a strange place atm.

So we are acting like it's the first time he's made political statements? He's running a gaming business and insisted on making his political views heard and the consequence was that many were turned off by it.

This is awful, Colin is my favorite personality on the show because he keeps the conversation from becoming Sony fan boyish, his "Colin was right" is some of the most well articulated gaming content in existence.

Imma pull my $20/mo for now and catch it on YouTube and see where it goes.

Say what you might about his politics, he was very integral to the feel of KF. I'm so sad :(

Good riddance. Now I can watch Kinda Funny because it was not tolerable with this dude front and center of everything.
You guys do know that Colin is a gaffer and is likely reading all of this shit, right?
I HOPE HE FUCKING DOES. Dude has some serious social issues that he needs to work out. But we all know he's going to continue thinking he's right about all of his terrible stances on everything political and social

Edit: Also kinda funny to see how many people are willing to overlook his blatant sexism and terrible remarks just because he can spout some bullshit off about video games. There are more important things, people.

They were friends since the ign days, not sure if they've had a fallout since geis is really liberal to Colin's really conservative (plus outlandish tweets). He may be saying it jokingly.

The tweet before it makes it pretty clear he's not joking.

BUT when he mentioned that he has never had a job interview, or written a resume, and yet makes his career picking apart the hard work of others..... put a sour taste in my mouth....
I never knew this about Colin, but it explains so much. The most privileged people are always the ones that don't think privilege exists.

Best of luck to him. Doubt Ill follow knowing his political stances.

Always enjoyed his views on games and the industry, but not so much when his political stances and opinions started bleeding into damn near everything.

I think KF is done. Say what you want about the guy, he brought in a lot for their games channel. This really didn't end well for them.

I don't think they're done, but this is a huge hit for sure. They definitely need to hire another person, and even then I dunno. It will probably take some rebuilding.

Didn't he JUST start his Colin was right show?

It seemed to be going in a nice direction with all of the interviews.

I'm not sure I'm going to be able to stick with PS I love you then. Their dynamic is why I even subbed kind of funny.

What a shame.

Even if there is other stuff in combination with the joke I still feel like people would have made the joke alone into as big of a deal.

Hopefully the amount of money Colin wants to be bought out of his share doesn't become a burden Kinda Funny struggles to get over.

This has been coming for a while and the West Coast games scene probably just isn't a good fit for Colin anymore. But the dynamic he and Greg have with eachother is something special and I don't think either of them will be as strong on their own. There's a reason they rebooted their PlayStation podcast without Tim after already running KFG for a few months. Greg's a hard working dude, he'll be successful no matter what but I hope they get someone knowledgeable to step in because I just don't see the draw of KF if it's Greg + the other guys.

Best of luck to all parties, hopefully this ends up as a good thing for everybody.

I only recently started listening to KFG and it was kinda frustrating how Greg and Tim would be having a good back and forth dialogue, Colin wouldn't say a peep, and then would monologue on his own for 10 mins about a subject, not really engaging, just saying his own thoughts and not talking with the other guys really. I think he sometimes has interesting stuff to say, just wish he was more willing to engage. Oh well, I think KFG will be great with Greg and Tim, and maybe they'll pick up a new third.

Don't be ridiculous. From the outlet that heavily criticized Palmer Luckey and said "There's no hotter mess than white supremacy"

Alex was pretty explicitly dragging him on Twitter too. Honestly no mainstream outlet is going to touch him with a ten foot pole. If he gets work it'll be launching a gaming vertical for a conservative outlet, or a Patreon that will just by the nature of the people who will donate to it will be for an explicitly right-wing gaming site.

He's basically this cancer on Kinda Funny that's been slowly growing if you've been following them. They finally cut him loose.

How so? I'm genuinely asking . I don't follow Kinda Funny. What has happened with him and the rest of KF over the past year?

It has to be more than his political views, I'm assuming? His political stance has been known for many, many years, long before Kinda Funny formed.

Wtf man that's too much over a throw away tongue in cheek joke? People have lost thier minds of late.

Colin made this decision in his own and most likely at the push of th rest of the guys at KF.

He made a stupid "joke" that reflected badly on their brand and business. This is the result. Words and actions have consequences.

Good, I will actually subscribe to this now as he was the only reason that kept me from tuning in. Happy that recently people like him are facing serious repercussions to their actions and words.

It sounds like he's not going to go into gaming. It'll be something political

KF is taking a big hit whether they realize or not. A large majority of people watch their content solely for Colin.

But then again, a lot of people will probably sub and start listening to their stuff because he is leaving. So who knows where this will go.

I really liked Colin but after moving to KFG he just changed. Probably due to not being "shackled" by working for a company like IGN but I guess I just didn't like the real Colin.

It wasn't really the politics (which I disagree with) but more his general arrogance towards friends and colleagues which made for ugly viewing.

I'll definetly be checking out KFG again with this news.

Good luck though Colin.

While he was sometimes controversial (not really to me as much), he really brought another dynamic to the team. Most times on topics Greg doesnt even talk and Tim is usually very whatever about it. When Colin did speak, he spoke with conviction at least. Sucks to see him out, but I'm sure he will pop up doing something he really loves.

Re-subscribed. The guy was very intelligent, but just miserable 90% of the time. The woman joke wasn't the issue - it's that he showed a clear and venomous disdain for dissent in his response to the furor.

This is crazy but the writing was on the wall even before his small and insignificant joke that everyone got riled up about. You could see the body language, you could see it in his face. Colin was tired of gaming. Hopefully whatever he does next is as successful as KF is and more.

Colin I was a fan, then I turned on you just after the election and I came around to defend you again this past weekend. If you're reading this, thank you. Thank you for all the articles, all the podcasts, all the wealth of info you have provided and the entertainment for these past 9 years.

KF will reach newer and greater heights without you, but you were too real man and I respect that. You were the oddball in the group and I loved that. Now it just won't be the same. Less analysis, less insight, less thought and with Greg, Nik and Tim probably more parroting. I didn't and still don't agree with you on everything, politics mostly. But I don't begrudge you for having the viewpoints you do. I don't run to a safe space to hear only the stuff that reinforces what I believe. Refuse to live in an echo chamber like other folks. I can get behind the mantra of America first but not support Trump.

I wish you the best pal. From one New Yorker to another. Peace Brotha.

Don't worry, you can always join Colin at whatever safe space / echo chamber he's creating for himself.
