This was the one I was going for.

ITT: Junior alt's escalate defense of the alt-right to hilariously unexpected levels.

Why am I not surprised? Anything that isn't completely PC has to be alt right.

Sasuga Gaf.

That's not what clickbait is my man. Just because you say it's clickbait doesn't make it so. Clickbait would be "You won't believe why Colin Moriarty left Kinda Funny Games!"

It is the definition of clickbait. Inserting something into the title for increased views when that insertion gives the wrong impression of the true meat of the subject matter.

Clickbait is fabricating or reinterpreting a story to make it more interesting or different than it really is.

This is clickbait.

Title implies the tweet was the cause when it wasn't.

Clickbait.

As someone who watched this channel for a while this Colexit was a LONG time coming.

The tweet wasn't the cause? Someone should tell this guy that:

So sad he is leaving he's a smart insightful guy. The absolutely annoying response to his completely run off the mill joke on twitter is absurd. I say shit like that about my girlfriend all the time and she says it about me.

If another famous female personality said, "ah great, no men to stink up the place" or something no one would bat an eye. As it should be because it is a random harmless joke.

I am unsubscribing from Kinda Funny. Tim is awesome but really not too much incentive to watch that channel anymore.

Neogaf displaying its typical bigoted behavior as expected.

So I wonder who Kinda Funny will bring in cause they can't continue for long as they are currently.

I'm thinking Vince from IGN, but would like them to bring on a permanent female presence or, if I'm dreaming. someone like Clements, Goldfarb or Altano.

I think you've already realized you were wrong, and I apologize if I'm piling on; however, Colin never actually apologized. Greg, who is a cool guy in my book and who I watch/listen to KF for, issued a statement/apology on behalf of KF. Colin, if I'm not mistaken, wasted no time right after in posting a pic on Twitter of the "Don't Tread on Me" Gadsen flag, basically shitting on Greg's apology and making himself out to be some victim/martyr for free speech or something. I think some or most of the ill will toward Colin could have easily, easily been diffused had he simply apologized and said something like, hey, I fucked up and I realize some of you were offended by the lame joke I just made on International Women's Day. Boom. Bam. Done. But nope, Colin seems like a guy who is too proud to do that. I'm TOTALLY reminded of an incident a few years ago on Giant Bomb that played out COMPLETELY differently. Basically in that incident, the late great Ryan Davis made an unfortunate utterance during a live stream and used a term that, although prevalent and socially acceptable to a degree during the 1980s, is nonetheless derogatory and offensive to gay people and no one uses it anymore. Ryan immediately apologized and during their next podcast publically apologized even though he didn't really have to and everybody was like, ok cool, we know you didn't mean it and you are heartfelt and sincere in you apology. Colin seemed to double down on the stupid sexist joke he made and didn't apologize for the humorless sacks of shit comment after. Whatever. Like I don't want anybody to have to lose their job or quit their job and he was good at certain things he did gaming wise, but he was completely unapologetic and seems excited about whatever thing he is doing now so I'm not crying over sexist spilled milk. I do feel bad, sexist or not, if the guy had an anxiety attack due to this, but he acted like an ass so the blowback was not unexpected. I hope KF continues to flourish and Greg and the rest of the crew have continued success.
Good post, Colin's behavior and lack of self-reflection/ability to apologize is the real issue here, along with his obvious political aspirations.

All 3 of these guys are fucking terrible. Can I have some of what you're smoking?

ITT: Junior alt's escalate defense of the alt-right to hilariously unexpected levels.

Yep. I remember getting banned for WAY less in my day.

I can understand how someone might not find anything Colin has ever said being offensive, but to defend that Tweet as being "not sexist", is just factually incorrect.

Paraphrase.
"Please someone think of the white men [and ignore the content and context of the post I quoted."

Your agenda is showing.

Agenda? Holy shit some people here.

Its not my problem people need to respond to my question with the "Why? Its White Men Day everyday"

I just have the opinion that a joke is a joke and everybody should be able make on each equally no matter the gender.

What does elitist even mean anymore?

Describe it for me.

Apparently having empathy, not being afraid to have your views challenged and having the ability to look beyond your own personal life experiences and world views is "elitist". Alt-right shit heels lack the mental capacity to defend their views (mostly because their views are stupid and indefensible) and revert to a persecution complex. They take things like having a women's day, or Black Lives Matter, as personal affronts because "Why doesn't anybody think of the straight/white/men"?

I'm not a fan of Colin at all but if this is directly from the woman's day thing it seems a bit much..... But on the bright side I can resubscribe to ps I love you

Jokes are ok only if its about white people and men.

Especially white men i guess.

Cant make jokes about anybody else or you are spreading "hate".

One expresses opression, the other frustration. Use your brain.

Edit: A sexist joke is also a bit less harmful when fucking around with friends you know well. Targeting women publically on a day about women's rights is a calculated sexist move.

What? The old days of Greg/Colin/Clements/Goldfarb is some of the best gaming podcasting I've listened to. I'd gladly take either of those two, and I also really enjoy Altano on everything I see/hear him on.

What about Colin? Do you think he's an asshole?

I don't really have an opinion on Colin, never watch KF Games and didn't know about him until the internet got it's jimmies rustled for several days because of a couple of twitter posts he made.

Even if he is an asshole, a "good riddance" attitude to someone leaving is pretty trashy.

Lol fuck this guy.

This gaming community will be better off without him.

This and other gaming communities will continue to suck with or without Colin.

I understand a site as liberal as Gaf hates him, but whatever, I enjoyed his blunt views without fully agreeing with them 100%, it'll be interesting to see how KF evolves after this this.

I am getting the impression, following this thread, that KFG has done a poor job developing new personalities it seems.
It was basically 5 guys only and 2 of them aren't really gamers. Now that leaves 3, with Colin leaving that's 2. Greg & Tim, those 2 just aren't enough and him they are too much a like that it just doesn't work.

Some of y'all, here's a thought experiment.

Have someone like Colin, abrasive, often dismissive of criticism, making crude jokes over social media and in general being a poor spokesman for your business, and put him in a 'real world' occupation.

Are any of you surprised if he gets let go then?

The response to this might change depending upon where you live/work. Colin would be a beacon of progressivism at my employer so I don't think he'd have much of an issue. Shit, dude is probably a few ticks left of 70% of the people I deal with on a daily basis.

The tweet wasn't the cause? Someone should tell this guy that:

Dude my post was completely irrelevant to why he was leaving. It was merely commenting about the gross reaction to the tweet. If it was treated as harmless it wouldn't have nearly been as influential as it is now. The two issues (him leaving and the tweet) are separate, though I can see the argument that the tweet is but one of many greater clashes between Colin and the rest of KF.

Replace "PC" with "socially acceptable" and you are right.

Nope. Nice try though.

The problem isn't that he made a stupid, rude, and offensive joke, it's that his response to the fact that many in his fanbase were offended by said joke, specifically it's timing, was one of vitriol and playing the victim. He didn't apologize, he doubled down and insulted his own fanbase.

If Colin truly believes in equality, a trashy response is exactly what he deserves.

I guess I should give Kinda Funny another chance now

Tried a podcast of theirs before and wanted to throw my phone across the room after about Colin's 3rd absurd political comment within 10 minutes

It's not surprising that he's leaving. His legion of twitter followers are always telling him he's the one true voice of reason amongst the insanity. Combine that with his arrogance and huge ego and it makes sense he would leave to start something in the political arena. He thinks he has something legitimately profound to say.

Elf? I really don't understand the internet. But what does elf mean here??

...

Well I just posted in a Colin is Right thread (a week or so ago) about how this trainwreck has been a guilty pleasure of mine.

Colin is coming off as incredibly self-destructive. There are more peaceable ways to make an exit than to force the issue, if what he really wants is to move on from the gaming press.

But again, it is a disgusting pleasure. Glad I'm not watching the stream with people crying to make myself feel worse about it.

...

Also, Colin holding himself up as a paragon of good argumentation, discourse, and intellectual honesty has always been a joke, at least as far as his public persona has been.

He always came across on GAF and the limited times I watched/listened to him over the years as a bully and a coward with a degree of sophistication, articulation, and dedication to his speech that he used as a cudgel to make himself come across as more right than he was.

Tbh. That's not always completely on the person him/herself, entirely, at least not always. It can often be a product of the social situation and competing temperaments. What is more telling to me is that he always seemed to avoid it when he was called on his bullshit. It isn't pleasant, but you kind of need to allow the veil to be pierced and even give your opponent the tools to pierce it if you care at all about the dialectic.

Couldn't agree more.

I was thinking about where Colin will go after this...

Then I started wondering how long it will take for a conservative-leaning major gaming site to pop up (bigger than those gamergate rags). I feel it's inevitable.
