Can't say I'm too surprised, he always seemed very different from the other guys, but I didn't see it happening so soon. Guessing he'll be at Breitbart or Infowars within a few days.

He must be doing really well for himself if he can quit his job after a single conversation, with hopes of stepping into a different field, and lives in San Francisco.

I haven't always agreed with Colin, and at times he's sounded like a broken record, but he was always insightful and engaged in intelligent discussions about video games. He'll be missed.

Oh no, people showing solidarity for others even though they themselves might be personally uneffected by their issues? What has the world come to?

Did I say that it was a bad thing that non-marginalized groups speak up for marginalized ones? It is great if done in the right context.

Why are people like you so fucking boring?

Oh? I am boring? The millions of replies I am getting for my different views beg to differ.

Ninjascooter has been a quality poster on this forum for over 10 years. Who the fuck are you? Get the fuck out of here with this whiney "no you" bullshit.

Do you not realize that you are the whiney entitled snowflake in this discussion? Oh no, somebody disagreed with you, better call them an SJW and a snowflake. Phew, argument won!

Again someone who doesn't know what SJW means is trying to act indignant. Every single person I have argued against in this thread is clearly an SJW. But that is not necessarily a bad thing.

If being an SJW and PC culture means not staying silent when members of socially and culturally marginalized and oppressed groups are targeted, attacked and denigrated by others, especially those with privilege and power, then I'm FREAKING proud to be called a Social Justice Warrior and member of the PC Culture. It's also within my free speech rights to call out people who say stupid sexist/racist shit.

It baffles me that people are getting defensive over the term SJW. It is NOT inherently a bad thing to be labeled as such. But sometimes I feel the typical SJW crowd goes too far. Feel free to call out people who do so and I'll call out people who over-dramatize things. Milo Y. Now that is a freak of nature if ever I've seen one. I don't think Colin is though.

Can we add outrage culture to the list? Because I'm pretty sure it just means "disagreeing with something I've said."
I'm not reading your well thought out reasoning why you disagree and are offended with this tweet, it's just typical SJW virtue signalling to perpetuate outrage culture to stop a MAN from telling his MAN jokes

Awesome. Glad to see Colin do his own thing. Was getting tiring listening to the other guys so much as Colin seems to be barely on there nowadays. Good luck where ever you go bro.

Bummer, I liked Colin. I've never supported KF but I've been listening to their playstation podcast since it was Beyond!

I liked listening to Greg and Colin because Colin would say things most of the super left leaning games journos would not. He wasn't afraid of twitter rage or accidentally (or purposefully) offending someone. I think their playstation podcast is really going to suffer for this move. The reason it was great was because they had a different perspective. I'm a big fan of Greg Miller but I'd never listen to him carry a podcast with a rotating co-host and nobody else on KF is entertaining. The left needs to be careful. The way they continue to banish anyone who has even a slightly disagreeable position to a minority is nuts. They are turning into the same echo chamber they accuse the alt-right of. I never heard Colin say anything hateful and he is being cast aside because he has a different political perspective than his hosts and probably about half of their followers. I don't even agree with his political viewpoint but I'm sad to see him go. He was thought provoking and smart and he brought a DIFFERENT perspective to an industry that desperately needs it.

His perspective is nothing new or ground breaking for the gaming community. If anything he's just the mouthpiece for a lot of the ugly ideas and feelings festering for so long.

Is there a cliff notes version of all this stuff? I get the issues with the tweet but there's some deeper animosity going on here. I'm not American so his political leaning is something I'm ignorant to. I increasingly feel out of touch with politics especially in gaming and that should likely change.

"People are displessed with sexist and racist political views/opinions of people I like, and I'm mad about it" = SJW

There gow3isben, I put the definition you seek for SJW.

There's a difference between being displeased and bordering on hatred/attacks. This whole story is overreaction. From all sides.

Pretty much anyone would be an upgrade, but now someone has mentioned the Sess, holy shit what an upgrade that would be.

Nobody needs the perspective of "ha ha women talk too much" on fucking International Women's Day. In fact it's the exact fucking opposite.

That's a shame. I liked Kinda Funny. Greg and Colin played off of each other really well. Also feel sorry for him. People acting like he's Milo levels of scum when really he's just misguided on a lot of issues (especially economically). I mean, sure, when he has a twitter breakdown on the erosion of white culture or something then I'll be happy to concede that he's a gigantic double, but he's never seemed like a legitimate bad person at all.

Disclaimer: I'm a socialist egalitarian.

Big fan of both Colin and Greg and while I don't like what Colin says sometimes I never thought he was a bad person. I saw the tweet he did and I didn't think it was funny but I also didn't think he was being sexist or at least I didn't think it was his intention. Either way, I didn't know Greg responded to it and I didn't know it became a big deal. Can anyone update me on the situation?

Did I say that it was a bad thing that non-marginalized groups speak up for marginalized ones? It is great if done in the right context.

So what is the "right context"? Is it everything that you don't care about? Is it times and places that don't affect you at all?

"in the right context" sounds about the same as "it's not the right time to talk about gun violence", every single time there is ever a shooting.

It's literally "just ignore them and they'll go away"

Provide the right "context" if you want people to stop railing against you.

Nobody has "banished" him. Fucks sake, only you people are concocting this bizarre ass narrative.

I don't care where he goes, I choose not to engage in his content because I dislike him and his views, that doesn't mean I'm "banishing" him or some such nonsense.

For the longest time I thought people were overly critical of Colin, for the past few months though those criticisms have become more evident, I probably gave him too much credit in the past simply because I agree with many of his strongest viewpoints on gaming.

This is absolutely for the best, whatever positives he has in the gaming space, he's toxic to the Kinda Funny brand and the type of the community the rest of the guys want.

There's a difference between being displeased and bordering on hatred/attacks. This whole story is overreaction. From all sides.

As I understand the joke, is just the last stroke of months and months of similar actitude from Colin. So is not the tweet alone.
And I hardly see any actual attack, unless you mean verbal attacks, and I don't see a lot of hate either.

And the good ol' "both sides are wrong".

Guess I can subscribe to their channels again now. Politics aside it seemed like the only enjoyment he got out of that gig recently was picking fights. He's toxic and I wont miss him and I don't care if that's mean.

Did I say that it was a bad thing that non-marginalized groups speak up for marginalized ones? It is great if done in the right context.

And who decides what the right context is? You?

The point stands, you are doing exactly what you accuse others of doing.

This is typical GG/Alt Right MO. "I can complain all day long about PC culture, about SJWs, about outrage culture, but the moment you complain about something, it's different...because...reasons that I lack the mental capacity to contextualize....but trust me it's different!"

How posted that on International Women's Day. He knew it was International Women's Day. In what world is that not sexist?

In fact I'm almost 100% positive it was him going on Glenn Beck this morning that finally did it at this point.

He just couldn't help distancing his own views from the views of his company, and they let him go for it.

There's a difference between being displeased and bordering on hatred/attacks. This whole story is overreaction. From all sides.

It's true. All this hatred will lead to hate crimes. We're actually seeing a huge increase in hate crimes and threats targeting white men with conservative views. Oh wait, it's bomb threats for Jewish preschools, targeted harassment of women, and blanket bans for religious groups. But yes, criticism of Colin is the true injustice in the world today.

I'm so happy this happened. Hopefully he can get himself into a safe echo chamber where he feels comfortable.

Was he really on Glen Beck? wtf? I stopped watching all Kinda Funny stuff when he started his new show.

Women do speak a lot, don't they? Lol

I give up. All things considered, I liked Colin much more than Greg, so I'm kinda sad he is leaving.

i can't believe you can perpetuate that sexist bullshit when you have a wife and a daughter of your own

I say thing like that all the time as a joke, when my wife and daughter go out somewhere. And I love both of them, but I also enjoy peace and quite when they leave for an hour.

Wtf people!!! I know I'm out of my league here, since people here hate Colin, so you can continue with crucifying him.

The best part about this in the end is that the Kinda Funny threads will be free from the arguments that come from Colin's actions. Colin brought a lot of hate into those threads on GAF (with good reason). It'll be good to not have to deal with that anymore.

Did I say that it was a bad thing that non-marginalized groups speak up for marginalized ones? It is great if done in the right context.

Well, putting it after
Fact is people ARE SJWs and PC culture is a thing. Don't deny the obvious. And no it isn't just marginalized groups who speak up either.
sure doesn't sound like you meant "and I think that's great in the right context!!"

btw what's the wrong context
